My first half marathon: 2:11:25, about on pace (10 minute miles). Very chilly racing day.

This weekend is the Happy Valley half marathon. It will be my first half marathon. I'm nervous, mostly because the weather suddenly turned cold and it takes me a mile to even warm up enough to find my pace.

Trying to get ready for a run. Cringing at the temperature. I'd rather be a sweaty mess than freezing for the first mile these days. In the cold everything just hurts.

I ditch shoes when I stop feeling the shock absorption working. Usually the first place I start feeling my shoes no longer working is my ankles or hips. They will start feeling every stride. Like you I have an active job. I use a step counter to adjust my calories or I would never eat enough (barn manager - 30,000 steps per day most of the time). I also found myself lacking energy. Soda and white pasta. Soda just tastes weird to me now (metallic, too sweet), and pasta I usually only cook if I have company or a bad day. I am 5'0, maintenance range 105-115. I have an active barn job, run, and do martial arts. My maintenance calories if I just do my job (no riding, running, or martial arts) are around 1750. Usually I eat between 1570 and 2200 any given day.

I aimed for 115 first, then decided to go for 110 after a winter between 115 and 120. I am 5' and 30, with an active job, so reasonable for me. I wish I could run 10k under an hour! Hi! I'm Caroline, and turned 30 in April. I am at maintenance right now (110), with my highest weight being 150, 2 years ago. I am 5'0, so on the short side. I run, do yoga, martial arts, ride, and occasionally swim. So cardio, not much in the strength training area (working on that).

Walked in to a store, saw sweet cherries for 2.99 per lb. Also got basil, tomato, brie, fresh mozzarella and did some lunch prep.

6/29/18 - 110.9 I hit maintenance about a week ago. My weight still varies wildly every day. July is going to be insane, but I'll try to check in regularly. (Moving work and home, family vacation 21st-28th, insanity.)
