  • Initially, I struggled with the bench press and overhead press as well. However, once I discovered using leg drive and bracing my core with the valsalva maneuver, my lifts went up by 10 pounds instantly as soon as I implemented them into my technique. I would try experimenting with different technique cues on the OHP and…
  • I am a Scorpio, and my spirit animal is the wolf.
  • I am testing for my third degree black belt in Taekwondo next week. Starting in September, I will be on here tracking my diet and things like that more seriously, for I am getting back in the routine of training for national-level tournaments. I would be happy to add you and answer any martial arts questions you have :)
  • Like some of the other members said, it is really important that you do resistance training. One pound of muscle burns 50 calories. Once you start doing that, your BF% will go down and you will be more defined. I suggest doing compound exercises when doing resistance training.
  • Actually, come to think about it, my brother has a barbell set. I could borrow it for the summer. Unfortunately the max weight I can go up to is 70 lbs., but I can just use these light weights to practice my form. Thanks, guys! I really appreciate your help :)

This will burn a ton of calories (a lot more than running on a treadmill for 30 mins). I would also recommend compound movements for strength training in the beginning months of…
  • Thanks for the advice, guys! I've been trying to do bodyweight workouts at home, but I haven't had the time to do much due to ripping and running with my family. I will definitely try lifting the weights I left of at on Tuesday.
  • I suggest getting a power rack along with a bench. That way, you can do a variety of heavy lifting and compound exercises without being limited on what exercises you can do. I believe you can get one for $300. It's a little bit on the pricy side, but it is totally worth it if you want get strength gains and be muscular.
