I've been on MFP for a long time. Back n forth, back n forth. I've let myself go since COVID and while being a caretaker for my husband. It's really hard to find the energy to care for myself, but my blood pressure, weight and hip pain are through the roof so I'm back. I turn 54 on Sunday and I want get back in some sort…

Thanks for this post. I have machines in my home, but was considering joining a gym to get the benefit of classes and other machines I don't have. I WILL NOT be spending my good money to be miserable! Thanks for the heads up folks!

I only weigh once a week in the morning after I've used the bathroom and before I've ingested anything naked! LOL...Hope that's TMI LOL

I'd say a burger is okay but would recommend you making it yourself with 97% lean 3% fat ground beef or sirloin and use whole wheat buns/bread and low fat/cal mayo if needed. Season it with Mrs. Dash or other low to no sodium alternatives. A great site I use to shop better and make better food choices is www.shopwell.com I…

I've always wondered about those pre-packaged food diets. I would think that learning to eat a low cal diet would be more effective in the long run because you have learned to eat healthy and can maintain the weight loss. So in the long run....Low Cal diet.

Killing The Messenger in your pants. LOL

I agree...I try to eat foods I know I can eat for the rest of my life because if I lose weight on these fad diets or pre-packaged "low calorie" meals then I am not teaching myself anything. After I lose the weight I'll just go back to eating like before and gain it all back! What sense does that make. I've been on MFP for…

I started at 280. I lost 41 last year but got injured and now I'm working on losing what I put on during my injury. So now I'm at 29 lbs lost. :( But its okay. I have been on for a year and have the tools to lose it again. You can add me if you like!

Try doing more cardio exercises. Yoga is awesome for building lean muscle that burn calories but you need to get your heart rate up! Jogging, elliptical, step aerobics or Zumba is great too! Good luck!

This was my first purchase so I'm really excited. I'm also excited to try this whey protein for little to nothing because its too expensive to buy and not like it. Really worked out for me!

I have to disagree that this isn't real life. We've dedicated ourselves to a healthier lifestyle and we depend on many of our MFP's for motivation and criticism. But I do agree that it doesn't sabotage your progress and delete her if it does bother you.

I never pre-log anything because Life does get in the way. Even my meals can be disrupted. She's only cheating herself.

I'm not sure about your meds but researching it would be the first stop, but we all plateau. I lost 20 lbs in my first month like it was nothing and then the hard work really came into play. So plateauing is part of the weight loss journey.

Well said! I think there is a huge gap in the playing field between inner city schools and suburban schools and it shows in the graduation statistics. This is due to many things...1st and foremost I believe that parents don't play a strong enough role in their child's education and upbringing. 2. There are many inner city…
