I'm not that knowledgeable about types of bikes but this sounds like a great plan to get into shape!!! You might also want to think about roller-blading/skating... that's an awesome workout for thighs and butts!

Hi guys! I've been a bit lax in logging into this thread... *hangs head in shame... I can see everyone's been doing a great job on their food diaries and their workouts though! Sharon, you are truly inspiring... My update: I'm down to 68kgs which is roughly 150lbs... I've been good with my diary, but actually need to work…

This is great advice... you might also want to track your salt intake... good luck!

Hi, sorry I can't help you as knee pain is one of the only things I don't experience while running. However, I do get plantar fasciitis as well as really painful stitches in my right side after running for more than 15 minutes... I'm going to try barefoot running and see whether that helps to strengthen my feet in relation…

Hi, my stomach is no oil painting either... lol! I have three children (a set of twins thrown in the mix) and have had 2 c-sections ... I'm down 22 lbs and it doesn't look any better but I've heard that it can take up to a year after losing all the weight to see the full effects, so I'm keeping hopeful! Good luck with it…

Be Natural Trail Bar of a hard boiled egg does the trick for me!

To tell you the truth, I think once you get the first one done, you'll love it so much and be so psyched that you'll wish the second one was the following weekend :)

Welcome! From Sydney also :) Good luck on this site!

Amen! Good luck :)

So last night I set a personal running PB - I ran 30 mins straight, 4.52km at a pace of 6'38"/km - I think this roughly translates to 10'30" mile. I am stoked and cannot wait for my race on the 27th.... a 4km :) Hope you all are having an awesome day!

I mainly eat 6 meals a day and sometimes still have a hard time going to 1200. Today's meals: Breakfast: hard boiled egg and a green tea Morning snack: nestle vanilla nofat yoghurt with sanitarium granola Lunch: tuna and avocado rice paper rolls x 2 and a fruit salad Afternoon snack: hard boiled egg and green seedless…

It might be a good idea to track by what MFP gives you for a start. And skipping meals is very detrimental to weight loss... Aim for 3 main meals at least 300-350 calories each and then add 2-3 more meals in between at about 100-150 cals each. Skipping meals and eating less calories will see big weight loss at first but…

Hey Heather, are you logging everything you're eating? If so, it looks too little and you shouldn't be skipping meals! Otherwise, nice to have you on board and good luck with it all :)

Welcome back and thanks for starting this thread! :)

Laurie, yours sounds like a good plan as well. I have the sane problem with skin and there is really no way I can afford surgery. One thing to note, apparently you should wait at least a year once you've reached goal to start thinking about surgery as the skin could still bounce back... but good luck with it! I look…

Welcome Beth and thanks for the friend add... I think everything you've mentioned above had definitely put you in the right track! 22lbs in a great loss so far!

How about a smoothie with a scoop of protein powder? I like banana or a mixed berry one.

I really want to get a pair of Bikila's... which are similar to the KSO in style but with subtle differences to make it specifically for running. I may have a pair in about a month's time if my dad remembers to get it for me while he's overseas... lol!
-
Apparently they help strengthen your feet so that it eliminates typical injuries runners usually get... even if you do have flat feet... If anyone own a pair with flat feet, I'd be interested to know if this is the case!

You can buy Injinji socks specifically for Vibrams :)

Hi! I'm not sure about the correct answer to that... everyone's a bit conflicting on this issue... for me though, if I've exercised that much, I would try to stay within 1200 and 1450 (which is about half your exercise calories on top of the 1200). Are you still hungry? Then have some light snacks to bring it up a little.…

Thanks for that! It sounds great and I might have to give it a go :) I do have a pile of clothes that I have waiting for me for when I lose a bit more and I've started to bag things to donate to charity that are too big... can't wait to really start shopping once I'm a goal!!!!!

Hi Sharon, is it too late to join? I'm currently at about 156lbs and hoping to get down to to 125 and stay there. I started to get fit previously in 2008 when my first child was 3 but then had twins so took time off. They're now 18 months so hoping to get back into it. I'm been on MFP and doing quite well... I've lost…

I like the way this is explained! I usually stick to 1200 or below even if I exercise but I do allow myself to eat up to my exercise calories if needed :)
-
I pretty much agree with everyone... protein is great for helping to repair your body and maintains and builds muscle... have a look at my diary, if I supplement with a protein shake, I usually have it as an evening snack as I usually don't get to the gym until late at night :)
-
That's horrible, sometimes you can tell when a person deliberately says something to hurt and rile you up! I had the same problem... I had twins too and a few weeks after they were born I was asked to sign a petition to put a lift at our local train station... especially since I was pregnant, I would need it to get up the…

I would have to agree with you. This site is a massive help for those who need to lose weight. Unfortunately, you cannot moderate everything and there will be some that go on here for the wrong reasons... e.g. people with anorexics will use this site as well to track how little calories they consume as well as track the…

I'm totally hoping you guys are right! It was cold today and I was in and out of work every 10 minutes at one stage today... the other girls in my area probably thought I was nuts! Does anyone have a time frame of when to expect the urge to lessen?
