Everyone suffers from DOMS one way or another -- go too hard, or take off from the gym too long and don't ease back into it, and you're going to get DOMS. Post workout BCAAs/Protein is great. There are no surefire cures for DOMS. Believe, I've tried. But, from my research, here's a few things you can do to mitigate it:…

TRUE! Just downloaded Vikings Season 4. So excited. This show is badass! TNP has danced until sunrise.
-
False. Ben and Jerry's does not make a pickle flavored pint. TNP is ticklish.

Hate it. I'm a man of the people. I love black coffee, but espresso is overkill. Music Festivals? And if you love them, which one is your favorite?
-
Hate it. I can do it pretty well. But I get a lot of limb tremors the higher up I go. My mom wasn't the best at belaying so I've had a few falls that were sudden, and slammed me into the climbing wall, back when I did a lot of climbing as a teen. Black Coffee?

False. TNP loves the beach.
-
Love it. Caramel is a weakness of mine. Lazy Sundays?
-
False. The only collection I have is a video game collection. TNP has a motorcycle.

Huge +1 for recommending you read "The New Rules of Lifting". So much knowledge -- especially if you're not interested in body building, but want FUNCTIONAL strength for sports and activities. In terms of a great beginner program, I highly recommend you check out "Frankoman's Dumb bell only Split". Google it -- it should…

@positiveLIFE2016 I'm sure you'll find one if you keep looking. No shortage of crush material in this thread.

I don't have one, but I'm secretly hoping that after this cut I could be somebody's. :)

Not at all. HYE played hooky from work and just stayed home and watched movies?

Hey, always open to new friends. 34, Male, on here pretty much every day. Have lost 20 pounds through CICO and lifting heavy. I train MMA, Krav Maga, and BJJ in addition to working out. My wife and I do Obstacle Course Races like Warrior Dash, Spartan Race, Savage Race, etc. Yoga and Massage are also fun and helpful.…

https://www.fitbit.com/user/23HGZ3 Just also add me here! :) And let me know you're from MFP. Especially if you're competing in 5ks, 10ks, or anything like Warrior Dash, Spartan Race, Savage Race, Tough Mudder, etc.

I've heard Paleo as described as "healthy for you by coincidence" . As in, Paleo is that stopped clock that happens to be right twice a day. Pretty much ALL the health claims by Paleo have been debunked. That a Paleo diet will stop heart disease in its tracks is laughable. We have found evidence of arterial plaque in…

For TV, my #1 love right now is Brooklyn-99. I found it super funny in the beginning. This season (3) is kinda lame. I was also huge into the Expanse on SyFy. I know -- the Sharknado network really sucks IMHO -- but the show was their one good show in the past 5 years or so. On Netflix/Amazon, I always try to find…

Yeah, the One or the Zip is likely the way to go if you can't wear anything on your wrists.

Hey, sorry for an abrupt topic change, but does anyone who trains MMA/BJJ/Kickboxing do anything like this for their ab workout: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXqjqmgxB_c It looks like fun and something I would do regularly, which beats how often I train abs.

Yo, I'm totally down for more friends. One condition tho: Don't try to market any weight loss or athletic performance supplements through your affiliate network. Someone from one of those threads already did that, and I just straight up blocked them. But if you're just seeking motivation, support, and friendly competition,…

So I did MFP's BMR calculation: It's stating you'd need 1300 calories every day just to stay alive. Eating a 1lb/wk weight loss would put you at 800 calories. Since "starvation mode" isn't a thing, here's a few things to rattle off the list: 1) Have you had a recent physical that includes blood work? Blood work should be…

I try to train MMA and BJJ 3x a week -- Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday with Fridays being a sparring class I attend semi-regularly. I try to lift on my off days: M/W/F/Sun -- i do some flexibility work every day, but do a Push-Pull-Legs-Shoulder lifting style. I find its easier to train when only one muscle group is fatigued.

Yup. We'd build a fortress with a retractable/pull up staircase or rope ladder. Good luck climbing up to get us, Zombies.
