? Anybody out there?

Agree to disagree, friends. I will be more conscious about not specifically reserving a machine. But I still think asking to alternate sets is fair. You may all continue to post but I don't like the negativity so I am out. :) have a good night.

It decreases rest time which increases cardio value. More bang for the buck for me.

I asked him if he wanted to take turns and offered to take off my weights for him. You guys are all super aggressive. Yikes. I am going to keep circuit training because its good for my body, and continue to think it is rude for people to be on one machine for 30 minutes. Sharing is caring ya'll.
-
Guys. When there is one machine it's pretty common to take turns. Also, pretty sure I wasn't selfish because I went and did all my squats so he could have the machine. I am just saying I wish he would have respected my work out too and taken turns with me. That's all.

And he could have jumped on during any of that time.
-
Why was he allowed to use it for so long then? How is a circuit any less valid than whatever he was doing with his bands. And why couldn't we just share?
-
Again, I don't usually leave them on at all. But I am glad I did or I wouldn't have been able to get back on it. He was still on it when I left.
-
My points is, I had no problem removing the weights so he could get a set or two in before my next circuit. I am not sure how that option isn't fair. It wasn't good enough for him.

There were only 3 people there otherwise I would have taken my weights off the power rack and asked to set in if someone was on it. I have found that it is hard sometimes to get guys to let me get a set in. Come on guys. It takes me less than 5 minutes to get a set in. Lets share please. And to me, setting up bands and…

Was yours fast? I am talking a week or 2 is how quick this weight came on

Also, I can totally see my weight in my belly. Looks like I am pretty bloated. Blehhh
-
I am a vegan! I have been since last May. I love it. I feel lighter and less bloated all the time. I have more energy and have gotten sick less. (This is all just what I personally have experience). There are some great documentaries on Netflix you should check out for info about the health benefits of switching to plant…

It is. :)

I was the same way! I hadn't run in a long time because of my knee problems but I worked up to it slowly. Here is what I did, but you can always modify to how it works for you: First few weeks/months if you need it: Walk at a comfortable pace on the treadmill for 5 minutes, speed walk for 10-15, 5 minute cool down Once you…

I eat tons of fruits and vegetables (obviously lol), whole grains, nuts, and lots of beans. I also drink almond milk on my morning cereal. You can get enough protein from whole grains, dark leafy greens like spinach, and beans. Easily. You can get enough calcium from dark leafy greens like spinach, and almond milk. You can…

Donate donate donate. Once I was in single digit sizes I got rid of everything two digit and refuse to go back!

I stopped cold turkey about a year ago. Replaced it with ice cold water, and sometimes one of those crystal light things (but only the kind that is naturally sweetened with stevia or truvia!) Juice is good in moderation, just avoid ones with added sugars. You can do it! I was drinking 3-5 cans a day and one day just said…

If you are looking for something healthy in Kansas City, there is an amazing healthy place called Eden Alley on the plaza. I live in kc and I love that place. My favorite item from there is the sweet potato burrito. I also like the Mixx. They make awesome sandwiches and wraps. Good luck!

Okay so I posted this late last might...maybe I will get more responses during the day?
-
Also I meant to make the title of this thread make more sense. I mean, how to go from being just "healthy" to being really in shape.
-
So I made up my mind about dessert! Coconut milk chocolate ice cream, strawberries, peanut butter, and Hershey's syrup. (the syrup is vegan. Which surprised me!) It was yummy! Filling, and totally vegan! Yay!

Basically what everyone else is saying. You can eat 1200 calories a day and that is good and all, but it's better to eat 1200 calories of nutrient and vitamin packed food. Fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean proteins. Try a breakfast other than cereal like an egg white omelet with veggies in it with a side of fruit. Your…

This is all so helpful! I am really interested to check out that "fork over knives!"

Thanks for the help. Any more ideas for food or protein sources?

It depends on how much weight she needs to lose total.... I have kept my 25 pounds off for 9 months now...so even though it came off fast, I made a lifestyle change. I also don't have an eating disorder. That was kind of a broad generalization to make. :ohwell: But I see where you are coming from. As long as she does it…

I am 5'4" and lost 25 pounds in 3 months. Went from 155 to 130 last summer. I started by strictly eating 1200 calories a day and working out almost every day. This generally included a run on the treadmill (2 minutes running, then 5 minutes walking...back and forth for like 20 minutes.) then I was able to run longer and…

I am 5' 4" and my highest weight is 159. My goal is 120. My current weight is 130.

Just finished p90x Plyometrics, probably going to take a bubble bath, study, and then watch some trashy reality tv. Now that's how you do a Friday!
