Since I don't eat meat where I live right now, most of my protein comes from beans and legumes, nuts, eggs and dairy (not a big fan of soy products). My meals generally consist of some combination of protein, veggies/fruits and some grain. For example some of my meals have been: a grilled cheese sandwich and an apple, a…

First of all, thank you all so much for your feedback! I just love all the information on this forum. Since the general consensus is that most of the weight lost is water, I'm surprised to learn that even a moderate carb-laden diet can cause that much water retention. I think I'll have to do some googling and find out…

I don't think it really matters. I've been working out at night for about a year now, and it seems to be the only time that I've been able to stick to. But when I've gotten stuck in the past, I always revved up my cardio…

Try playing around with your calorie intake (but do not under-consume under any circumstance) or the protein/carb/fat ratio of your food , or increase/decrease the intensity of your workouts, or add some strength training (if you…

From what I understand, it would be better if you did cardio and weight-lifting at the same time. That way you'll be building muscle while losing fat simultaneously, and since muscle raises your metabolism you'd be burning more calories even while at rest. I'm no expert, but I'd recommend the weight-training. I hope this…

Thanks guys! I'm glad to be back, although I have to admit it is more fun to be interactive rather than just sitting back and reading the forums. :) And Liz, don't worry, I found that once you stick to a diet and exercise regimen the weight comes off surprisingly fast. I just wish these last pounds were as easy to get rid…
