Lol, Deadlift "um-just drop it". Check! Ok. Thread finished. haha!

LOL! Why do we newbs do any of the dumb stuff that we do? Because we're ignorant. I've never thought of the collars presenting a safety issue, but it certainly makes sense. At first, I was so unbalanced, I figured I needed them, so I just have always used them. However, a back up fail safe is attractive to me.

I'm going to take a look around tomorrow when I'm in the gym. If nothing, else, because I'm there so late (like 10 p.m.), I'll just make one of the staff members spot me if there's no one to help. I'd like to use the power rack, though!
-
LOL, what?! I hardly compare to this pot-smoking, drunk who decided to lift weights one night. What a dumb way to die! That article didn't support your assertion, AT ALL! However, it was entertaining. In case you're concerned, though, I researched form and continue to focus on form...benching above your neck…

That also makes sense. I could see that.
-
^^Yup. I ate cake and donuts and lost weight.

Hun? How old are you? Stop that. But yeah, I get what you're saying and I think we agree on that point, for the most part.
-
^^So this!!!

lmao!!!

Whaaat?!?! What's wrong with sugar, again? OP, yesterday, fresh donuts were brought to the office. I ate 1/4 of one and left the rest. I also had sugar (1/2 tsp. per cup) in both cups of coffee. You know what, I was STILL 240 under my calorie budget...AND I managed to exceed my protein goal (it's a good thing!), while…

Maybe, don't eat back all of your exercise calories? If you're exercising to lose weight, you'll want to keep some of the deficit that you've earned. Personally, I don't factor in ANY of my exercise calories, BUT, to be fair, I only walk and do cardio once a week, right now. At 6 days you said?, I'd assume that you…

Sounds tasty!

I put half a banana (mushed) with a tsp of honey in mine. AMAZING!!!
-
That's reasonable. I wouldn't want to pay for them only to have them get messed up with exercise. Good point.
-
Well, that's your opinion, and we're all entitled to them. I've seen cockeyed nipples, and I've seen amazingly perfect implants, so you can't really judge the procedure on a crappy surgeon...or what your body or maintenance practices happen to do with them. It IS really painful, involves risks, and not something to be…

Yep. I grew up poor, too, but in America. My mom had meal planning down to a science. One portion each for me and mom and 2 each for my father and brother. It wasn't until I became an adult that I knew what leftovers were...and I though they were AWESOME! haha!
-
Agreed. I sometimes only eat a 1/4 or a 1/3 of my meal when dining out, and it's plenty for me! I do try to order things that will re-heat well, in those cases, though. If not, I figure that I "do my part" 98% of the time, so I only have 2% guilt.
-
I had to get over this one. I try to take smaller portions, whenever possible, and save the rest for someone else. My co-workers give me hell about cutting off an 1/8 of a donut, but, if all I want is a bite, I figure it's better to save the 7/8 for someone else, than toss it...even though donuts are mega cheap food. But,…

Ohhhh's hell...I was intending to get them. Breastfeeding and weight loss have been unkind to mine...windsocks, indeed, when I plank. :frown: I was also intending to do them under the muscle, because they do look more natural...but I didn't consider the effects of them and weight lifting? Well, being as I'm new to lifting,…

I love food. I love really tasteful, artfully created, complex flavors and textures, too. Oddly, it was my love of REAL, quality food that helped me lose the first 20 lbs. I became a bit of a food snob, and I'm not ashamed to admit it! There should be no guilt in loving food, nor in fueling the body. The problem comes in…

Thanks! :drinker:
-
That's actual true. The "fake" ones I touched seemed pretty real to me. I wonder if her surgeon is still in the business to do mine? Hmmm...
-
When you're still hungry, and you've already run out of calories for the day?
-
Lmao!!! I know. That would suck, and it ALMOST happened! I truly get that. You're right, asking for help isn't as ridiculous as failing poorly is. Anyway, I've doubled my weights on BP in 1.5 months, so that's something. It was a proud day, for me, when I was able to use the Oly bar...by itself. haha!
-
Yep. I tend to be a purist, until I learn reasons not to be, so I'm likely to stick with free weights...until I don't. haha!
-
Oh, I have no issue doing the "roll of shame," but my mind refused to accept that I was not going to finish the rep. By that time, the roll would have went across my face. I'm benching a mere 60 lbs. (or attempted a second set of 60 lb. reps), so asking for a spotter seems really cheesy, but I'll do that, too. I…

#'s 1 & 3 appear to be extreme examples, but I intend to get "fake boobs," when I get my body in shape. I'd like to look like the girl in the second pic, without the big shoulders. Regardless, I imagine that esthetics and symmetry are the reasons they do it. The same reason regular girls get them.
-
"don't use collars so you can side ways dump the bar." I didn't think of that?! Have you had to do that many times? (I jacked up the quotes. Woops!)
-
Lol! That's what "The Google" said, too.
-
Yeah, I was thinking HS might be a good substitute when I don't have a spotter, but I don't want to depend on the HS machines too much.
