PS: I waited to lose some of the weight I had gained back before coming back to MFP..was to ashamed (It took me twice as long then when I used MFP). So you see, you are smarter then I am, you got passed that and came right back where you had great tools and support.

ErikN, the first step is acknowledging the problem, and so you have. It' s hard losing weight and even harder keeping it off , or so it is for me. I've blogged about this 11 months ago ( http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/davadoto/view/another-fresh-start-439727 ) but I've had to do it all over again in the last 3 months.…

Oh dear! Half of my closet is goal clothes and the other half my " large enough to hide my body" clothes. After steadily gaining weight for the past 2 years (over 40 pounds), I look forward to be able to put some of my old clothes but also to reward myself to new "skinny" clothes. I`m carefull though not to under estimate…

First off I' m not the type to comment on a person completing their diary, I don' t comment on everyday status. I probably won’t say the nicest things. But for the few friends I have -or will have- I will care about their challenges, applaud unusual achievements, and give my input when asked. Check my profile and feel free…

Hello I can certainly relate to some of your issues since I live and I'm from a "developing" country and work in the humanitarian sector. You raised a lot of questions so I’ll just address the one I' m most comfortable with and let wiser MFP users give further input. Being a vegetarian it’s hard to meet my calorie goal…

Thanks again to all!

Thanks for the advice. According to research both vegand AND vegetarians - and non vegetarians to some extent- frequently have B12 deficiency (see link http://www.webmd.com/food-recipes/news/20030618/vegetarian-diet-b12-deficiency ). Furthermore eggs, milk and soy have far less B12 than meat/fish (10 times less according…

I' m 30 year old woman, married, a vegetarian, christian and I've had weight issues since my childhood. Not aiming for a size 4 (or anything in that range) just looking forward to a toned body and a normal BMI. Very shy. Just wanted to wish you all luck in your journey; I know how hard it is to lose weight specially with…

Thanks to all those who actually did post usefull tips. Here is what works for me- some of the times: I find drinking water - few sips before getting to the food- and listening to music I like helps me a little (or any activity that soothes me). + I keep the food as far away from me as possible so I actually have to walk…

Hello everyone, A friend pointed MFP to me and I joined a week ago, Loving it! It's the support and follow up system I've needed to give me an extra push. I' m a vegetarian, bit shy :embarassed: and I've had weight issues since my childhood. Not aiming for a size 4 (or anything in that range) just looking forward to a…

Good advice in there. I've been a vegetarian for over 12 years, and I have found the key to success is getting rid of the pre-conceived notions that food cannot be absolutely delicious without added meat. There are delicious, protein filled vegetarian meals out there with cheese or soy (paddies, sausages etc), eggs or…
