Oh god yes, I do that too!!

That it is essential to pee before commencing run - something about starting to run triggers an immediate diuretic effect which leaves me absolutely bursting. Now I understand how racehorses feel about it! Oh and Cifucanguess - nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k.aspx

Only if the biccies can come with me :)

But then who do you trust if your MFP comes in much lower than your recipe book?.......

No, no and no again. It's all about the anandafoods.co.uk/store/c5/Round_Ups!.html

I've got one of these amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00WY5KCM0 No problems with it, not leaked and seems pretty well made

I love mine - gives a really nice flavour without leaving bits in the bottle. My fave at the moment is infused gazpacho - tomato, bell pepper, celery and a hint of chili, infused overnight.
-
Because I have inexpensive substitutes for all the things you list

Tell me what you like? I've been dairy free (with a sweet tooth) for almost 15 years now, and can probably help.... :)
-
Ahh - that's probably it! I'm working from home at the moment, so not very active when I'm not running!

Ok - thanks. That comes out much closer to Garmin than Fitbit (probably because Garmin use that formula). Maybe I'll switch off negative adjustments and see how I get on. I still don't understand why fitbit is so much lower, after all, Fitbit gets to count the warm up and cool down (at least 1000 steps each) as well as the…

Book yourself into a 5K race for 6 months after you start the programme. Even better, do a charity race and start getting sponsorship. The motivation will help keep you focussed :)
-
Get to the race start at a decent time - you don't want to have to run to the start of a run ;) Don't do or wear anything different, and try not to go off to fast at the start. If you have a GPS, use it to keep to pace. However, don't be surprised if you feel really good as the race goes on and start to speed up, if you…

Benefits of juicing* Juices taste nice * You can control what goes in them (no added sugar, no preservatives, no "from concentrate" * You can make fun juices not available in stores - carrot and tomato with tumeric, orange and cucumber, raspberry, gazpacho juice Rubbish things about juicing* Cleaning the juicer afterwards…

What do you mean can't catch your breath? Are you fatigued after a period of exercise, or are you struggling to breath after physical exertion? Shortness of breath is a symptom of several pregnancy related complications. I'd strongly recommend you go back to your doctor and get a referral for a midwife review and scan.

I'm sure Washington DC has a similar area to the area I was describing - one where legislators and diplomatic staff live when they are not in constituencies? And I'm sure they probably don't like strangers running round it either? Not wanting to give more details, as it's a well known area in the UK, but no, trust me when…

Yep - there's a place in my local area where they don't like "outsiders". It's a very, very posh area (roads gated off to cars, £multi-million houses) and you get a lot of disapproving and suspicious looks for running or walking through, as well as lots of signs warning about neighbourhood watch and CCTV. But the roads…

I do that too - but it just doesn't quite have the same thrill ;) Also, between breakfast smoothie and fruit infused water, a juice hits the spot so much better than an afternoon smoothie (not to mention all my favourite smoothies have banana in which just shoots the calories up way high for an afternoon pick-me-up!).…

Sorry - should have said it's a centrifugal juicer, so the basket is straining the pulp. If I put a baggie in it, won't it get shredded (and included in my juice -yuck!)?

Yeah, my 10k this morning. kilometres 1-3 were super tough, then everything got good at 4 and stayed good for the rest of the run. It's a mental battle I think. Just gotta keep on trucking until it starts feeling good!
-
I second Jeff Galloway and the disciplined run/walk intervals. They really are great for taking the pressure off while improving stamina and strength, and really help with the mental barriers around time and speed.

Hi auntie. If you're synchronising your fitbit multiple times during the day, you will get multiple entries. You don't need to delete them, mfp will handle the cumulative count itself. I avoid this by synching once before bed, having a good idea through the day of my calorie balance.

How cold is it and how far are you going on each walk? If it's not cold and you're only going 5 miles or so, I'd suggest doing a loop from home in a long sleeve technical (quick-drying) t-shirt and quick drying leggings, and just accept that you're going to get wet to the underwear, but have a shower and a hot drink as…

I graduated last March and celebrated by raising £300 for an amazing charity in my first official 5K. I'm now signed up to run a 10K for the same charity this March and aiming for a sub-60 minute finish. To give this some context, I have moderate asthma and running for the bus made me wheeze and struggle. I took about…

I went to a specialist shop and bought a shoe (primarily for running). Having supported someone suffering from debilitating plantar fasciitis (to the point they could no longer walk their feet were in so much pain) from exercising in improper footwear, I'd advise you to do the same. Your feet are so important - trust me,…

Just to throw in there, the first symptom of my (medically diagnosed) lactose intolerance - several months before any of the really icky stuff happened, was a craving for dairy products, including milk and butter. I could spoon butter out of the bowl and drink pints and pints of milk without being satisfied. Apparently…

There's no legal definition (in the UK at least) for Low GI, so it's a claim manufacturers can make. The only way to know is to read the label, and even then, depending on how they choose to supply nutrition information, it can be very difficult to tell. Worth watching out for (and hopefully something that the EU will…

How did you feel immediately after that meal? From an initial read, it looks a little high GI - the toast is unlikely to be as low GI as you might think, especially if it's commercially bought, the banana has a lot of starchy sugar in, so will the yoghurt. The egg is a good choice, but not necessarily as filling as you…

Yep. This happened to me last year, and I was completely on the floor for 6 weeks. Pretty much exactly the same as you. I went back to week 4 of couch to 5k and carried on gently. I wasn't back to full fitness for about 3 months. Take it super, super slow is my advice! ! Get well soon :)

I have had asthma all my life, but deteriorated pretty spectacularly last year (in hindsight, my control had been deteriorating for several months before my near crisis ). I lost a lot of confidence after that. I found the most useful thing (once I was medically controlled again ) was to start gentle cardio to relearn the…
