  • Hello! My name is Audrey, I'm 30 years old. Since joining the Navy I've lived in several places, but right now I'm stationed on a ship out of Japan. Being "forward deployed" means we go out on patrols more often than ships state-side but they're shorter (3-4 months out to sea followed by several months in port and the…

  • Yeah, I don't think the search button works, I couldn't find it either with the search button. I did find it just be scrolling through new groups. Let's see if this works - here's the url for the group: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/107652-mission-to-a-healthy-you
  • The Happy Herbivores group is a great place to find support! I'm not vegan right now, but was one and will likely be one again when I can cook for myself.
  • Started a little late MFP start: 178.0 Week 2: 171.6 Week 3: 170.0 My deficit wasn't big enough for 1.6 lbs so I'm sure some was water weight, but I was at a deficit so some is "real" loss
  • Can I still join? I tried to search for the group but couldn't find it
  • Hi. I'm starting a week late so this is my starting weight for the challenge MFP start weight: 178 Challenge start weight: 171.6 Have a great week everyone! :)
  • Hi everyone :) I'm currently stationed on a ship that's based out of Japan (US Navy). I joined the 4th of July challenge and did really well for a while and lost 13 pounds, but then dropped off a bit and gained back about 6 of them. I'm just glad I didn't gain more. So, I'm back and ready to work on turning my gaining…

  • I thought I would have to put my name in since I'm a little late joining and I dropped off a bit at the end of the last one, but I see my name is still there  I wasn't on here for the last couple of weeks, but I'm ready to get back at it and turn the tables to losing instead of gaining. Thanks for keeping me on…
  • I like this post. But I will say that I think lactose is evil! But that could be because my body refuses to make lactase, no matter how hard I try to make it do so. Good thing there are lactase pills - otherwise I'd be doomed to never eat cheese and ice cream (not together) or doomed to have constant bowel issues …
  • Personally I eat at my maintenance levels on the 5 days of non-fasting. So for me, maintenance is 1800 - I eat 500 on M/Th and 1800 on Tu/W/F/Sa/Su. People talk about eating whatever they want, but if I do that then I know I'll eat over 1800 and negate the deficit I create with eating 500 on those two days. Some people do…

  • Glad to hear you're feeling better flumi! Even if it's slow progress, it's still progress. I love farmer's markets - hope you find some good stuff! I don't know if any of you have done the premium thing on MFP, maybe you've already talked about it, but I just paid for it. It lets you personalize each day and I just set it…
  • Hi all. I've been gone for the past few weeks. My ship came into port for 3 weeks so I was busy being away from work and exploring things. Thankfully I managed to stay the same weight, even without fasting. I'm doing my first fast since a month ago tomorrow - hope it goes well. Flumi - glad to hear the surgery went well! I…
  • Odd cravings can sometimes be a sign of anemia, which can happen to women during their period. Might want to have a doctor check your blood levels. Although I will say I've never heard of butter craving specifically. Anemic people can crave ice and dirt which sounds just as odd.
  • That's so awesome!
  • Man! Now I want oreos   Good luck with your husband! I'm not married so I can't relate, but I would image it has to be hard to watch someone continually make choices you know are hurting them. You probably feel the same way my Dad felt after he got healthier and lost weight and I tried, but then would make…
  • I hate having things on my wrist, so I have the Fitbit One. I love it and the only time I don't wear it is in the shower, ;) (or swimming, but I don't swim much).
  • YAY! Congrats!

  • Challenge start: 175 Week 2: 173.6 Week 3: 170 Week 4: 168.2 Down almost another 2 lbs
  • I went to a running store and had them help fit me. I've found the Moving Comfort ones to be the best for me, but I highly suggest trying on lots of different ones at a store where the workers know what they're talking about :)
  • Trying to decide if I want to do my fast day today or tomorrow. I ate something yesterday that upset my stomach, so I didn't get up this morning to work out and now my day just feels "off." Might try to work out at lunch so I can still get it in. I don't generally eat breakfast at all, so I have a few hours until lunch…
  • The spreadsheet doesn't like to work on the computer in my office, but I'll try to remember later when I'm on a different computer. :) Yesterday went well, but then I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me because my stomach started hurting last night. When I tried to get up this morning for my workout, it was…
  • I went to Restaurant Marrakesh when I was there almost a year ago, and it is AMAZING. Awesome dinner with really good food that I had never had before. I had a lot of trouble logging it in my MFP diary and gave up, but it was so worth it! There are ice cream stands all over the park, and whenever the people I was with…
  • Week 3, Day 2 went well for me. Exercised in the morning and stayed under my calories :) Week 3, Day 3 is starting off a little rough. It's only 8am, but I didn't sleep well last night so I did not get up to work out this morning. My planned day off from working out was going to be Friday, but I'm considering making it…
  • I'm sorry to hear about your pup! Please let us know how the vet visit goes - hopefully it all comes back okay. And, if my cat was sick, I would have gone for the burger and fries for sure, so good on you for staying away from it! I miss my cat so much! She's staying with my parents because I'm single and…
  • Just finished my fast day today - a bit under 500 calories so I'm very happy! I found that today was the first fast day where I really wasn't hungry. I ate dinner because I knew I should eat something, but wasn't hugely hungry. Previously I'd be hungry all day, trying to combat it with liquids. I had a few episodes of…
  • Yeah, when did that stop? I was gone from MFP and the forums for a while and when I came back one of the first things I noticed was my ticker was gone from my posts. I looked all over my settings the other day trying to get it back. Then I realized that no one had them. :disappointed:
  • Week 3, Day 1 went well. Got a good workout in in the morning and stayed under my calorie goal for the day. Didn't sleep well last night so hopefully I'll sleep better tonight :)
  • Challenge start: 175 Week 2: 173.4 Week 3: 170 I'm sure some of this is water weight (I've been working really hard on drinking more water), and it'll slow down, but I'm happy
  • I've had Nexplanon for 2.5 years. During that time I've both gained and lost weight, but both of those have been due to my eating habits not the Nexplanon. One thing to keep in mind is that anyone can say they've had a side effect for any drug and they have to publish it as a possible side effect. The only birth control to…
  • Add me to the nothing group. I get up at 5:30 and get to the gym around 6am. I generally drink about 0.5L of water, since I'm a little dehydrated in the morning, and then refill my water bottle so I have enough for the workout :)
