  • @7lenny7 - that's so cool! Congrats! @9voice9 - glad it wasn't worse! I've gotten close to getting hit but thankfully it didn't happen. I've had some bicyclist friends who've been hit or run off the road :( Hope your shoulder feels better soon! Question for those of you who have done marathons. I started doing…
  • I love this picture. I forgot to bring my scale with me on deployment and I used those estimations quite a bit to help me log my food. It was rough, not cooking for myself and having to estimate calories consumed, but I've lost roughly 10lbs over the last 3 months so it was better than nothing! :)
  • Hi, I'm starting a little late - hope that's okay. I'm actually not going to start until Monday, but my goal for Sept 7-30 is 40 miles. I ran a half-marathon last December and then I stopped running for a while, but I'm ready to get back into it :D
  • I direct anger at the elliptical, especially when it increases the resistance in the interval program -> anger causes me to push harder, you know, to punish the elliptical -> burn more calories -> eat almonds ;)
  • MFP start: 178.0 Week 2: 171.6 (started a week late) Week 3: 170.0 Week 4: 169.2 Week 5: 169.2 Week 6: 175.8 (gained water weight) Week 7/8: somewhere between 167.2 and 175 Week 9: 167.2 I'm deployed on a ship, and we hit some bad weather for weeks 7 and 8. When the waves are rough, it's difficult to weigh because I stand…
  • Hi everyone. I'm Audrey and I currently live in Sasebo, Japan. I'm in the US Navy and will be stationed here for another couple of years. I've been on and off MFP for several years, going up and down in weight. But recently I've gotten really close to not passing my weigh-ins for the Navy which has given me a little extra…
  • 1. Name, Age, Marital Status, Children, Where do you live? Audrey, 30, single, no children. I live in Sasebo, Japan (I'm in the US Navy and stationed on a ship out of Sasebo) 2. Weight and how long have you been on MFP? Current weight is 167.4 lbs; been on/off MFP for several years. Re-committed in May with a starting…
  • Starting Weight (SW): 167.4 Current Weight (CW): 167.4 Challenge Goal Weight (CGW): 158
  • This was my post from the Initial Weigh in thread. With 2 days left in August, my weight is at 167.4 - less than half a pound away from my goal :) I was good at drinking water, but did not always work out at least 5 days a week. I think I only hit 5 days one week, all the others were more like 3-4 days/week. Will be…
  • If you go to the Fitbit website they have a chart that compares them all, so you can find the one you want. Personally, I have the One and like it - I clip it to my bra. I thought about the charge, but I hate wearing something on my wrist all the time. It bugs me. But that's just me :)
  • I have a Fitbit Aria scale too and I like it. I figure even if the number isn't exactly correct, if it keeps going in the downward direction I'm probably doing something right. It can be something to hold on to if my pounds stay the same, but body fat percent goes down.
  • I've done one before and liked it. I've never done one longer than 3 days and don't think I ever would, I think the long term ones are more dangerous but can be done with medical supervision. I might be interested in a couple of weeks, but can't do it right now. I don't have a juicer but have a good blender, so I usually…
  • Last week I went up 4.2 lbs in 4-5 days and was hoping it was water weight from eating out a lot. I'm glad to report that this week, not only did I lose the water weight but I'm down 2 lbs from my August starting weight! Yay - I was on track the whole time, just had too much salt or something so my water weight was up :)
  • Just think of all the extra steps you get walking to the bathroom and back ;) At least that's what I do (with my fitbit)
  • I'm living in Japan, so it's already 15 Aug for me. Last week I went up 4.2 lbs in 4-5 days and was hoping it was water weight from eating out a lot. I'm glad to report that this week, not only did I lose the water weight but I'm down 2 lbs from my August starting weight! Yay - I was on track the whole time, just had too…
  • I would like to join :)
  • I have a sticky on my computer that I found in a fitness book: EVOLVE - Earn Victory Over Life's Vast Excuses. I liked it so I wrote it on a sticky and put it on my monitor so I would see it :)
  • You definitely want good shoes - got to a running store and get fitted and try out different kinds. They'll watch you walk and jog and can advise on what kind of shoe would be good for you stride. When I start upping my distance, I use the little dixie bathroom cups, fill them with water and put them in the freezer. Then…
  • MFP start: 178.0 Week 2: 171.6 (started a week late) Week 3: 170.0 Week 4: 169.2 Week 5: 169.2 Week 6: 175.8 I didn't eat great this week, but I know that I didn't eat so much that I would gain 6 lbs. I'm sure some of it is water weight and will come off in a couple of days. However, 1-2 lbs might be real and it's a wake…
  • SW on Aug 01: 171.6 CW: 175.8 I didn't eat great this past week, but I wasn't this bad - some of this has to be water weight. But I always weigh in only once per week, so this is my weigh in. Hopefully I'll lose the water weight and maybe a bit more this next week
  • Done :)
  • Congrats! I've never done that. I've bought something "bad" on the way home from something and then thought about throwing it away thinking "I really shouldn't eat this and I acknowledge that I shouldn't eat it and I should throw it away in that trash can over there" and then I end up eating it anyway. Oh well, I guess I…
  • I'm trying 5:2 as well (I say trying because it's been a while since I've had a successful fast). I plan to eat half of my exercise calories on my maintenance days and none of them on my fasting days. I set my MFP goal on maintenance days to be -250 from maintenance but that's because I know my food logging is inaccurate.…
  • I'm going to put mine in tomorrow morning (went on a trip over the weekend so my weigh in was delayed). I can put yours in if you tell me what you want me to put in.
  • I definitely use them. The water I'm drinking has a slight chlorine taste, so I either drink water with flavoring added or I won't drink water. I get the mio ones on sale and the crystal light packets.
  • MFP start: 178.0 Week 2: 171.6 (started a week late) Week 3: 170.0 Week 4: 169.2 Week 5: 169.2 No loss this week, but no gain either. Will try a little harder this week :) Internet has been terrible but hopefully I'll be able to update the spreadsheet soon
  • You're welcome :) I've never gotten down to less than 15 to lose so I don't have experience but I hear it gets difficult so trying for 0.5lbs can make it less frustrating when you don't lose 1lb (from what I read on the boards from others experience). I bounce around between 25-30lbs to lose so I'm always at 1lb/week ;)…
  • I've seen a lot of people post the following on the boards - it's what I've been following If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal If you have less than…

  • Current Weight: 171.6 Overall Goal: 140 (for now, I'll re-evaluate when I get closer) August Goal: 167 August goals: Drink at least 64 oz of water - I'm good in the morning and get hydrated but then work gets busy and I forget Exercise at least 5 days a week - totaling at least 160 mins weekly
