  • I think about how upset and hateful I'll be toward myself if I don't go. I think about that all-encompassing feeling of "UGH I should have gone!!" And usually, I can stomach the works out ;)
  • I am 5'4" but I'm 30 (I still look about 16 though; a blessing and a curse) and I'd like to maintain in the 107-110 range. Right now, my daily goal is 1400, but I exercise a lot, so I'm currently losing. I'm not sure what I will have to eat to maintain 107-110. I'm currently 113-114.
  • First of all, I need to say that I completely understand how you are feeling-- I do think that you might be experiencing some Body Dysmorphia, which I also struggle with. I have dealt with this for YEARS; it lead into my battle with eating and exercise disorders, which I continue to struggle with. You do NOT have a big…
  • I go to Planet Fitness and I LOVE it. Mostly, I love the $10/mo, BUT I only do cardio, so I'm sure it's very different than the lifting piece. I've been extremely happy with my experience there :) Buuuut ...not sure if that helps.
  • I don't necessarily trust MFP OR gym machine calculations of my caloric burn. I always cut off around 100 calories when I hit the gym (I work HARD and I POUR buckets of sweat, so I know I burn more than a lot of people my size, but the machine says 650 for an hour, I say 500). For less strenuous activities, I still round…
  • UGH YES!! It is awful to see the daily struggles and have no ability to fix it! I hate that she has to deal with this day in and day out, but she is so strong and never complains... she's my best friend :) It seems as though you are close with your mother, too. :) Still sending those positive vibes!! :)
  • That is awesome!! So happy for your mother AND you! Would it be too personal for me to ask what autoimmune disease your mother suffers from? I only ask because my mother was recently diagnosed with lupus and I know it is devastating :( She also has epilepsy. It has been really hard, but she is a trooper. Bravest, most…
  • Waking up at 4:45 to go to the gym before work and desperately wanting to curl up with my kitty and go back to bed... but getting my butt in gear and killing my work out anyway!! :D
  • A thousand times yes-- headphones!! I cannot CANNOT stand the sounds of loud, loud talking, body gossip, creaky machines, or silly pick up lines... I also need whatever book I am currently reading ;) But I guess I could do without that if I HAD to :P
  • 5'3.5" (that 0.5 is VERY important!!! haha) and currently 111.6 down from 122.2 (high of 128ish) and looking to get to 110 and see how I feel there :) I've been as low as 95 and I'm not looking to go there again... but I think 105 is a possibility. I've a very small build.

  • 28, never married, not dating, no kids, and perfectly happy with my life :) I love kids; I am a teacher-- BUT I do NOT want my own... not now and possibly not ever. I'm much too selfish for that ;P I travel a lot and I like that nothing ties me down (except for my workout routine, ha ha). Nothing against married people,…
  • I always bring my own snack(s), whether it's cereal, a granola bar or two, pretzels... something I like to snack on, but isn't full of nasty "stuff" :P
  • I'm also 5'3(.5)" and I am currently 113-115 lbs. I want to get back down to 110, so that's my goal weight! :) I'm also on 1500 calories a day and I work out 5-6 times a week. (BUUUUT, I have a problem with binge eating that reared it's ugly head in my early stages of recovery from anorexia/compulsive over-exercising, so…
  • pinch of cinnamon, pinch of Truvia... Amazing!! Or just add a tiny bit of agave nectar... YUM! In my opinion, they don't need much-- they are delicious!!
  • I woke up at 4:45 to hit the gym before work. I do this 3 week days out of the work week and I also go (though a little later) no both weekend mornings... Waking up at 4:45 to kill it at the gym is NOT fun or easy, but it is always worth it :)
  • I would log it... but then I'm a vegetarian who eats a TON of veggies... they make up most of my intake... so if I didn't log them, my intake would look insane. However, if I eat one small piece of chocolate or a few kernels of popcorn, I record that... I'm all for recording everything that passes my lips. That's just me.
  • Naomi, just made note of this post... copied it and sent it to my e-mail actually. I'm going to use the hell out of these strategies... I'm needing something right now :) Thanks! You rock. As always ;)

  • Hi! Vegetarian here. I gave up red meat 8 years ago and went vegetarian almost 5 years ago, so I'm not super new to the lifestyle, but not uber experienced either. I just like my fruits and veggies ;)
  • I am curious about this issue as well... I struggled with anorexia and overexercising for almost two years and at the tail-end of this, I started binge eating in the wee hours of the night. Namely, between 11pm and 4/5 am. I think it happened because, after two years of restricting and overworking, my body finally said,…
  • Hi :) I struggled with eating issues since the age of 12, however I didn't really develop what could be considered disordered eating patterns until I was around 20. I then dropped 30+ pounds from my average-size frame and while I have gained back half of the weight and am currently at an acceptable (though still on the…
