  • Here is the list that I do 3x per week. I do have a 10 lbs medicine ball and a 15 lbs kettlebell but you could skip those if you don't have the equipment. I hold the plank as long as i can, which is only about 70 seconds at this point, and the last one, air punches up above my head holding my 5 lbs weights i do for 60…
  • I get hit on all the time, always have. Everywhere i go. However, I am friendly and happy and am told that radiates from me and makes me approachable. It has stared to slow down in the last few years as i moved to a smaller town, but still happens quite often. Quite often with my husband right there, which makes him puff…
  • I used to do this all the time when i didn't care about what i was eating. I wouldn't eat much during the day, then binge at night because i was starving by then. I've played with it on and off since i've been calorie counting and realised that it doesn't work well for me. I don't have the stamina to do a good workout in a…
  • Oh please don't do this! If you want to make a pot for lunches for the week then i say go for it . . . if you are thinking of actually ONLY consuming this to diet then it is a very poor idea. Any water weight you lose will just come right back as soon as you start eating solid food again. It is very unhealthy to purposely…
  • This from my husband: he likes it when i touch him a lot, hug him from behind unexpectedly, put my hand on his leg while we are just watching tv, any touch but lots of it.
  • I had to completely eliminate all sugar for quite a while, keep it right out of the house. Coffee tasted like *kitten* for a month but i got used to it and now i hate sugar in my coffee, and even buy my coconut and almond milks unsweetened as my tastes have changed. It takes 3 to 4 weeks to effect change so it becomes more…
  • What??? I always figured stolen food tasted the best, ha ha, kidding. I was "spoken" to at work once for the "aggressive" message i put on my paper lunch-bag because someone kept stealing my lunch . . . something about losing that f%@&^$ng limb if it was ever in my lunch again. I can't eat pop tarts, to many allergies :(
  • egg whites chicken breasts my daily square of Lindt dark chocolate!
  • 2 sets of: 8 x mountain climber 8 x lunges 8 x squats 8 x diamond pushups 8 x ab crunches 8 x flutter kicks 60 sec wall sit holding 10 lbs medicine ball overhead 16 x triceps dips 8 x pushups 30 sec air punches holding 5 lbs weights 8 side twists holding 10 lbs medicine ball plus 45 minutes on my stationary recumbent bike…
  • I actually love to put sliced avacado on any protein. I could eat it every meal that way.
  • Thai Shrimp Soup
  • Me too! Except Im using a head of lettuce for shells cause I like that better (traditional ones for hubby as he thinks lettuce is gross, ha ha).
  • Again you can't paint everyone with the same brush, but in my experience many women are more competitive, not just in business, but in general, which i think does go back to their own insecurities.
  • I have been in a very happy marriage for 20 years and have never gotten jealous previously; however, there have been a few times when when I can see a sales clerk, or some woman while we are out somewhere, that is obviously flirting hard core with MY husband that I have secretly wanted to punch her in the face, haha. Guess…
  • When I started with MFP I always logged my food FIRST, then ate afterwards. You realise that extra condiment, or pad of butter, really adds up fast so you can always stay within your calories. After at least 6 months of doing this I did start to get used to my portion control and amounts before logging; however I STILL…
  • Its human nature to slip back into your old ways, many of us have done it more than once! Im back after an absence myself and find many of my old MFP friends no longer log in so will send you a friend request. Congrats on working toward a healthier you!
  • Im spoiled, ha ha, my husband wakes me up by putting my coffee on my bedside table every morning, then once I can open my eyes it is usually some horizontal exercise. By far the best wake up ever, part of why we are that annoying lovey dovey couple still after 20 years tho!
  • Me too! I've been beating myself up for back sliding again. I was 15 lbs away from my goal weight in 2013, then slowly over the next few years slipped back into my old habits and am right back at the starting line yet again. I'm just over 2 weeks back into things but have a long road ahead with about 65 lbs to lose. Had a…
  • So that! Its once per week, eat 2 bites and leave the rest and cherish that time...my dream in life would to be able to see my Dad again, you are so lucky to have this time with him
  • Seriously??? I did a cleanse and omitted coffee for the week a bunch of years ago and promised myself I would never be that stupid again, haha. I have cut down to a few cups per day and only before 10:30am and never get the afternoon yawns now though. Everything is OK in moderation!
  • Guess I more than qualify for this group, hello all. We made some big lifestyle changes a number of years ago and with the clean eating and daily exercise I lost 40 lbs and was close to my goal. Unfortunately a big cross country move and some life stress brought more imbibing and portion control was ignored for the last…

  • Exactly! Stay away from the scale! Don't weigh yourself anymore than a few times per month but use other measurements to determine your progress such as the way your clothes feel or your stamina and of course the measuring tape. Just know that each day you make good choices you are moving toward your goal.
  • HELL YES! I have not consumed grains for 4 years (personal choice due to GMO concerns and celiac husband), dairy for 5 years (severe allergy) & sugar has been pretty much non existent for the same period. Not only do I feel better than I have in my life but my focus and energy is greatly improved. I never feel…
  • I am not really dedicated to following a low carb plan on purpose, but have completely eliminated all "bad" carbs such as potatoes, rice, baked goods, all processed foods, etc. I also have an allergy to dairy so have not consumed any for years, plus have given up all wheat about 2 years ago when my husband realized he had…
  • The only reason to have people in your life is because they enhance it. Life is to short to argue and have bad feelings. You cannot control how another feels or thinks, only keep them in your life because they make you feel better when they are there. Sometimes the best thing to do is to distance yourself bit by bit as it…
  • I spend a ton on groceries, I admit it. I like to cook and to create and we like really good and fresh Ingredients. I will usually spend about $100 per week just to stock up on fresh fruit, veg, dairy stuff for hubby, non dairy stuff for me. We tend to shop twice per month and I will typically spend from $200-$300 each…
  • Unfortunately losing weight the permanent and healthy way takes time. You can only expect to lose about 2 lbs per week. This leaves about 12 weeks to the beginning of July. Close to the 30 lbs mark but a bit shy. I wrote on my office calendar what my "anticipated' weight would be losing 2 lbs per week. About mid year I was…
  • I spent the first 6 months on MFP running to log in what I ate BEFORE I ate anything. I make mistakes and learned along the way how to eat a balanced diet. In the process I found my personal "sweet spot". It is different for everyone. I am a very busy accountant so many days Im lucky to squeeze in a 30 minute walk. On days…
  • I make my own . . . super easy too. 1 large can of unsalted tomatoes (diced, whole, whatever you can find) 3 cloves of garlic 1 onion diced shake of basil I simmer this on the stovetop for 30 minutes. Let it cool and throw it in my blender. Add a bit of fresh basil and some salt and pepper to taste prior to blending and it…
