I think you need to find a group with similar goals. When I go with my buddies, we are all there for the same reason. So we get distracted as we rest, but we immediately hit it when it's our turn. That way we get to mentally relax, and physically improve.

Well I used to go by myself when my gym was close to home. Now that the location is further away, I go with a group to carpool. Since I lift, it is better to go with a group in case you need a spotter. Usually I only need spotters for some exercises, but it's always nice to have someone looking at your form and making sure…

Is there a better way to lose weight? Getting in shape is what boosts up your health.

Well I would add you but I don't know if I'm the type of friend you are looking for. I do log in just about everyday unless I lose internet connection, or I'm having my cheat days (which I do have). I do not believe in holding anyone accountable. When you start asking for that, friendships tend to break. People don't want…

I normally lift. I want to swim again. Now that's a great endurance builder.

Interesting challenge. By December, I want to be of normal weight so I don't feel guilty enjoying all the Christmas goodies. So that's like about 20-30 lbs depending on whether it's muscle mass or body fat. I want to be able to go to the gym without needing a spotter. Either that, or encourage friends to go with me as…

I'm just hitting the gym. Chest and tris on Wednesday Back and bis on Fridays Legs on Saturday I mix cardio in there when I either have the energy, or I'm in the mood. My friend is going to get a gym membership to a center closer to our houses; and she's going to let me use some of her guest passes so I'll probably be…

Usually anything with the word "surgery" tends to freak me out.

I'm I the only one who burst into song when reading that part? :noway:

What are you doing to reach your goal?
-
Well today was a rest day...and I wound up taking an hour walk. I'd say that is something...right?
-
Well the reason I don't believe I have a disorder is because it doesn't happen often but it is happening a lot more usual that before. Normally I would get cravings without being hungry and I would eat; or I would eat till I'm sick because I really loved the taste. Instances like that do not worry as much because I know…

It's more common than you think. If you are working out effectively, that (or those) rest day(s) are not things you should feel guilty about. Your body will burn the calories regardless. The reason they are rest days is because they let your body heal from the workout (i.e. if you strength train, a rest day lets your…

You could get supports but remember....they are called supports not injury prevention accessories. I would say you should listen to what many workout plans advice: go to your doctor or physician. They can probably recommend an exercise that can stabilize your muscles better that help prevent injury. That or seriously…

That's why you tone...not just lose (at the same time). It's a longer process but it doesn't leave you saggy. You're young so your skin is still elastic.

I love how many 20 year olds are taking initiative towards the right direction in health. I don't feel like such a loser now.

Word of caution, do not overdo it. You might be seeing success now, but eventually it will blow up if you overwork yourself for too long.

Hello Star (and everyone else) Welcome to MFP. What are your goals?

How about a chocolate flavored cupcake? Best of both worlds...

Nice choice!

There is a lot of factors that could play in this (example: the type of foods you are eating; the way you are exercising; your amount of sleep; the time you eat certain foods; your macros; your caloric intake; how often are you eating; how big your meals are; how stressful your life is)....the list goes on.

Enjoy yesterday...it sounds extremely delicious. If you are working out today; I would suggest that you do eat your recommended amount (or even more). If you've been eating healthy for a while...or good for a while...yesterday's splurge won't have an affect on your metabolism. You might have gained a point but your body…

Loosing weight is not the same as loosing inches. I lost 30lbs before I needed a belt.

I take rest days. I recover. Depending on the day, I chill out or I do my regular routine. I watch an extra hour of television (since I don't have to use that hour on the gym that day). I log in my food. On some rest days, I eat more than usual depending on how hard I worked out the previous day. Some days require more…

Where are you buying your bread from? I buy mine's dead and prepared.

Oh, I thought salads were for decor

Never tell anyone to eat like you. If you do so, they will think you are acting more superior towards them. If anything, you could ask them why they are eating that way and once they respond, say something along like "that's interesting; I learned that you need a combination of the food groups in order to have a healthy…

Mind if I add you?

I log in just about every day but I am not looking to drop that much...yet. I still don't know how I'll feel after hitting my goal weight.
