No. OP is eating too few calories for muscle gain and has not even mentioned doing any sort of lifting.
-
You are extremely obtuse.

After 8 PAGES of responses with people giving you advice (many of them repeating what they have told you time after time), THIS is your only takeaway??

That's why you log your foods on this site. If you open your diary, we may be able to help you! :)

I just turned 47 years old and have been lifting for almost 6 years. Prior to that, I only did cardio. I SO wish I had started lifting much earlier! Like you, I am not aiming to hit the stage but I am always striving to make my body look better than ever.

The information you provided above would have been extremely useful if divulged in your OP. You seem to be offended by one or more answers, but I'm not sure why. I recommend reviewing the flow chart that was posted and having more patience. It isn't a race to the finish line!

Waste of money. Track your cals and exercise; eat less than you burn.

I am pretty sure this is a "hazard" of having a very fit lifestyle. Active people, especially those who are even just a bit competitive, tend to put their bodies through a lot. We eschew the "no pain, no gain" mantra and push ourselves beyond reasonable limits. Inevitably, something breaks down. I have a lengthy laundry…

Practice the 5 P's: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Peformance. For me, that means laying out my gym clothes the night before, making my pre-workout the night before, and getting to bed at a reasonable time. I am not sure I have ever gotten used to waking up at 4am, but it has become a habit.

I am too busy lifting to notice whether or not anyone is staring at me.

The color aqua, Peter Dinklage (actor), and the way my guy chews his gum (or as I call it, "chewing aggressively").

I'll just leave this right here: http://www.scibabe.com/toxins/

Are you weighing your food or using measuring cups/spoons? If it's the latter, you are probably eating more than you think.

Many times there is a charge for a consult. Ask before you schedule one.

Open your diary, please.

I have more of these stories than I care to admit, but the most mortifying was on a VERY hot and VERY crowded train over Labor Day weekend many years ago. The train made an unscheduled stop to get me off of it.

Underestimating calories consumed + overestimating calories burned is why you are not losing weight, OP. Since it appears you only are interested in advice from people who run, I will add that I am a former locally competitive (now recreational) runner. Nobody who has offered you advice has been rude. Your responses to…

I agree with you, OP. I plan to be just like you! Keep setting a great example. :)

^^^THIS is an awesome post, Brolympus. My parents are 77 & 75 years old and have remained active. They have had a few health issues (my Mom had both knees replaced, my Dad has arthritis in his back and thyroid issues) but thankfully aren't content to sit around and watch TV all day. I think it is very important for one to…

I know that exercise increases bone density. I guess I meant that statement to be more applicable to folks who have not really done much in the way of exercise before and maybe need to ease into it rather than going full force into a program and getting injured. I'd still maintain that OP is an outlier, and that the stuff…
-
I think that MOST 65 year olds probably do need to be more conscious about their exercise, etc. because bones get weaker as we age, etc. I would suggest that you are DEFINITELY an outlier when it comes to this kind of stuff and that you may have a higher threshold for pain/discomfort due to your past obstacles. BTW - I am…

I lift 4-5x/week. Feel free to FR me. :)

I used one during my PT after a knee stress fracture a few years ago. Since it was part of my PT process, I didn't (directly) pay just to use it. I am not sure it would be worth spending the money to rent time on it; I think you could accomplish the same thing by doing other types of exercises (i.e. walking on a treadmill…

The calorie burns for exercise on MFP are grossly overestimated.

BAM!!!! :D

If you have the means, perhaps seek out a personal trainer who has experience with people who have some limitations? Might be worth a session or two, especially because they could monitor your form to make sure you don't cause any further damage.

I have (had?) a friend like this, too. She is bound and determined to find a doctor who will tell her that she has a medical condition as the reason why she "can't" lose weight, despite all medical tests coming back as normal. She won't count calories because she eats "clean" and exercises.

If you are referring to cardio being too hard for most people to do, then I would argue that you could also say the same thing about lifting. It is unlikely that one would build muscle from doing cardio exclusively; it IS likely that they would shed the fat that is on top of any existing muscle, making it much more obvious.
