I disagree. I have a glass (read: bottle) of wine almost every weekend. I have also been known to have a 6 pack of beer on occasion. I lose. I just make sure it fit in with my calories for the day. I only get like 1400 right now (1/2 pound / week), I will GLADLY spend 600 cals for a bottle of wine. :drinker:

it's not public.

woohoo!

I barely eat during TOM. Nausea as part of PMS is so fun. /sarcasm seriously, I have to push myself to eat more than 900 cals the first couple of days.

Measure / weigh everything. eat at least half of your exercise calories. GL!

lots and lots of exercise. Seriously. Eat at least half of your exercise calories. Now, with that being said, if I cook at home, it is easy to do. Oatmeal and turkey sausage for breakfast, I generally eat a turkey & cheese wrap for lunch, with a side of rice snacks if I am especially hungry, or a veggie. I can have like a…

I met my BF on MFP. He had some generic avatar and no pics when I friend requested him. He was local, had quit smoking a few months before I did, had lost a tremendous amount of weight, and there were a few other things we had in common that I noticed when I first replied to him in a thread about King Cakes  …

I totally shop sales! My boyfriend usually asks family for gift cards. I second checking out your local sporting goods store--Academy, ****'s, and our locally owned--all carry Under Armour, Nike, Reebok--and, I know that our ****'s is doing a lot of clearance on stuff right now. ha, D-I-C-K's gets starred out..oh well...

How many miles a day will you be hiking? From what I understand about these things, your calorie requirements are pretty high backpacking because of the extreme amount of calories you burn. I am not sure that I would be concerned about low-cal at that time. (I am not a backpacker / hiker, though I like to entertain the…

I agree with this. I used to log all of my food first thing in the morning, now I typically do it when I am cooking. I think using the phone at the dinner table is rude.

great job! Mind if I ask how tall you are?

I am in Baton Rouge. Not close enough to be an exercise buddy :frown:

I started 1/1/11, and am down 25 pounds so far. I only had 40.5 to lose, and I have been stuck in a plateau for a LONG minute. I have been eating maintenance for a few weeks, today I am dropping back to lose 1/2 a pound a week :ohwell:

Remember that the closer you get to goal, the slower it will come off as well. Slowing is natural, to an extent. I would say that yours is natural thus far.

what type of HRM? Does it have a chest strap? Were the contacts wet enough? 78 cals seems low for the elliptical, unless you weight like 100 pounds...

great job!!

 Yes, we are. I am SOOOO glad I sent you a friend request. :flowerforyou: My first friend was JulieBo. She is a facebook friend, and started a page about her journey to lose weight, and was tracking on here. So, here I followed, figured we could help motivate each other

yum!

what a great story! I LOVE all of the things that you guys have done in preparation for your real wedding--growing your own bouquet flowers, etc. So sweet! Congratulations!

it isn't accurate. There are several things it doesn't take into account. It strictly looks at cals in vs cals out. It doesn't take into consideration water intake, plateaus, etc.

My youngest started crawling out of her crib at 17 months. She has one of those "lifetime" beds, so I converted it to a toddler bed--that was 2 years ago. Had I a mattress, I would have just converted it to a full sized bed, but, for now, she is still sleeping fine in it as a toddler bed. The better the longer, I am not in…

sit on the floor with your legs straight out in front of you and "write" the ABCs with your toes. That is a great stretch for shin splints. Also, freeze water bottles, and roll them up and down your shins, I have been told that helps as well. If you just legitimately can't do W2D2, repeat W2D1 the next time. Running isn't…

I would weigh. You never know, the increased fat, along with the mushiness of everything, I am betting you lost a little...

great job! I have been an avid water drinker for years, before it was "cool" but, I do love my Diet Mt. Dew....I have a case in the fridge at home...I *might* drink 1 or 2 a week...generally I prefer water. Funny how that happens.

I agree. I have lost 25 pounds, they have been gone for a little while now.

my boyfriend and I can do the exact same walk or run, and he burns 2.5+ times more calories than me. The more weight you carry, the more effort it takes to move it = higher calorie burn. But yeah, it kind of chaps my butt when I burn 200 calories, and he has burned over 600 :ohwell:

I listen to metal when I run, but, I listen to a little of everything (except classical & opera) when I listen to music just to listen to it.

turkey is pretty high in protein, and is very lean. Also, don't overlook jerky--high in protein, low in cals, but, be careful of the sodium. A lot of the veggie burgers / chicken / sausage have a lot of protein as well with not many calories.
