you're probably not eating enough. use this calculator instead as MFP's recommendations are really off base quite often. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

- Raw nuts are my go-to just because they don't have salt or anything else on them, and they're minimally processed (just removing the shell). Taste wise there's little difference, although in my experience they're also cheaper but that can vary from store to store. - Milk is fine. I prefer whole milk but whatever you want…

Thomas Edison (not a nutritionist): "The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease." Your logic is flawed. Read more at http://www.snopes.com/quotes/futuredoctor.asp#RfkBpFrdQkKUhJUl.99

the semantics are annoying and not particularly helpful. if you don't care about the above then you don't care, but it's worth considering. wonder how you'd feel if it were tigers.

popped up on my facebook feed today and though of you. please consider this. http://rawforbeauty.com/blog/say-no-to-palm-oil.html

i'm saying that if a parent refuses to make changes - consciously, then how is it not child abuse? but I understand the point you're making about habits, etc.
-
Sweet jesus yes. Even worse my heat went out a few days ago in my apartment and no one's fixed it yet. 12 degrees outside and no heat? SMFH It was 60 a week ago! I'm really pissed at that groundhog...
-
only if the parent refuses to make the changes necessary. at that point then it's intentional child abuse. you have a responsibility to keep your kid as healthy as possible and if you refuse to do that... welp.

I'm hybrid-ing it with my rock climbing, skipping most of the cardio, and focusing on lifting heavy. I also use that pause button like it's my job since the program is not conducive to building muscle since your heart rate is so consistently high - even in the resistance workouts. I like to let my HR settle before doing…

signed up for a Spartan Sprint in June (NY) - first time doing one so I'm really looking forward to it!

Let me be very, very clear. If you are hungry - if your stomach is growling like this - then you SHOULD EAT! Always. Every time. There's no reason to "endure". None of this is about starving yourself, it's simply about making better choices when you do eat. People develop unhealthy relationships with food when they deprive…

that bump tho.

none of this matters I promise. Eat whatever chocolate you like and log it. Remove the guilt - it's misplaced!
-
why does that make sense? where do the vitamins... leak... to...? lol
-
don't you know I'm never sensible? sheesh come on now.
-
The only way to really answer this is to get a blood test so you can know if and by how much you're deficient. Multivitamins aren't necessary if you eat a mostly whole food diet, but again, it behooves you to find out for sure.

only two that matter. lets be honest. :flowerforyou:

you eat the skin on an orange!?

I don't when I can avoid them, and it's for two reasons. The first is the unknown health risks. We don't know if there are risks, but we also don't know that there aren't because of Monsanto's strict "we don't feel the need to test our products" stance, which you can find right there on their website Secondly is the…

The sad thing about all this is that you (and everyone else) and I agree on 90% of this stuff. It's just that the last 10% gets all contentious.
-
Hah just did. Bought a Fitbit Flex right? Wore it while at work... turns out just from my job I burn an extra 900 calories, and it was typical for me to work out ON TOP of work, so I'd be burning well over 3,000 calories a day. No wonder I haven't been able to bulk. lol
-
Hah I actually agree with all 11. Nice list!

potassium supplements are pretty ... worthless imo. they're 99mg a pill, and your daily requirement is 4700mg. I don't even want to do that math.
-
I don't know what your diet is like, but as long as you eat a lot of whole foods such as fruits, veggies, and meat products, you'll be fine on potassium. If you eat mostly processed stuff it will be harder. A lot of foods in the database don't have potassium labelled so it's tough - but things like potatoes, coconut water,…
-
this would be excellent.
-
Complex carbs and protein. Other than that there are no specific do's and dont's in terms of food. Just eat at a caloric surplus and lift heavy.
-
Good for you! Congrats! I rarely drink soda anymore and my brother cut it out cold turkey 6 years ago and has never looked back. Keep it up!
-
I'm sorry you feel this way and this is the last I'll say on the subject. I don't demonize any food. You know that as well as anyone. You're smart enough and we've talked enough and you understand exactly where I stand on this, in that when it comes to weight loss people need to do what works in order to lose the weight.…

questioning health choices isn't enough for you, you have to also question the things I take offense to? dude is a murderer and a ****ing psychopath and the insinuation is not appreciated.
