  • Most surprised by how much exercise has become my addiction! I truly cannot function without the stress release and feel good mood I get from it! I find ways to get it in everyday, and hit the gym 6 days a week. I love all the classes, have discovered how to make running on a treadmill fun (HIIT and awesome tunes), and my…
  • Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie: 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder 1-2 tbs cacao nibs or chocolate chips 1 cup milk of choice (almond or soy) 1 bunch of spinach 1 tsp peppermint extract Handful of ice Enjoy! :drinker:
  • I'm exactly your size and can empathize! I recently bought and have fallen in love  with the Shock Absorber sports bra. I can run, do tabata, lift weights, do Zumba, anything and everything and the girls stay put! Check it out online: http://www.shockabsorberusa.com/details.php?prodId=44 Happy shopping!
  • Thanks for the responses and wonderful tips! You guys are right, my diet is way off. I'm not eating enough carbs and I think I'm eating too few calories. With an increase in running (increasing 1/2 mile per week, running 15-20 miles per week), weight training (3 days), and HIIT classes (2 days), I'm burning out. When I…
  • Thanks for the recipe! Yum yum :) Btw, think coconut water might work here?
  • Have done Zumba two years with several different instructors and haven't seen the type of results I'm now seeing doing heavy lifting. Bottom line, weights = awesomeness.
  • If working out at the gym is something you want to do, go for it! Definitely load up some awesome music on your iPod, bring a book or magazine, and lose yourself in your workout. Practice your own form of fitness meditation, focus on your well being and zone them out. When I first started going to the gym to run and lift…
  • I find running with music also motivational, especially when listening to upbeat positive tunes. Nothing too vocal, but I find trance and electronic music my fav for helping me maintain my focus on form, pace, and breathing. Listening to Kaskade's Fire and Ice album atm.
  • I work out mid-morning, often doing 4 days of weight training and 6 of cardio. My breakfast is usually oatmeal w/ raisins, bananas, and chai seeds, lots of vitamins, and tons of water to hydrate before I head to the gym. Afterwards, I eat a protein bar such as EAS Lean 15 followed by a light protein packed lunch (chicken…
  • WOW! You guys are all so amazing and inspirational. The transformations are mind boggling! After carefully reading through this 15 page post (sure to be well beyond that), I'm ditching the puny weights I barely picked up at the gym. Went this morning armed with a training program given to me by a friend, luckily she was…
  • Runkeeper is amazing! I love how it charts my pace each minute during runs which helped immensely in training for my first 5k. Used it during the race to give me audible mileage and pace...sort of like my own personal trainer cheering and encouraging me on. :)
  • Thanks for posting this! I buy a lot of organic food at the supermarket, but it's super pricey. :(. Printing out your list and taking it Costco ASAP.
