  • Ok, I'm only halfway through this thread but I had to comment on a few things you wrote. I work with low income families - they have to be under the federal poverty guidelines to qualify. Anyway, there are a lot of free nutrition classes offered - our program has a nutritionist that will meet with families 1-on-1 for FREE…
  • Honestly, if you're not hungry I wouldn't eat.
  • Honestly, if you're not hungry I wouldn't eat.
  • Ugh, I hate that! My work is like that too. Well, it's not always filled but when it is, it's alway some kind of yummy chocolate. I don't know what to tell you, it's still hard for me. But I carry my water bottle with me all the time and try to drink that instead. Or if I go to get a chocolate I tell myself I have to get…
  • Unfortunately you have experience with fad diets where you lost quickly. But, they don't work in the long run so it is not a really good comparison to this. You may have lost quickly and continued but I am guessing you gained it back just as quick as soon as the fad diet was over. I would strongly suggest not weighing…
  • I would be careful - seems like 1500 calories is still too few calories and might continue to hinder your weight lost.
  • Could you set your food diary to public? I'd love to get an idea of what you eat to see how it can be tweaked or if there are other substitutes. :) I log my food for the whole day in the morning, sometimes the night before so I am not surprised with the amount of calories I have for dinner. These are the snacks I tend to…
  • I'm with you. Tilapia is the only one I can really stomach and even then I am still finding it hard. The only recipe that I love with tilapia is fish tacos. Of course then you are adding a corn tortilla but still. I love it!
  • Besides changing your workout (and maybe with that having some days off from working out to let your body rest), I would suggest tracking some other things on your diary. Two things that I am tracking now are fiber and sodium and I think working at getting that fiber higher and that sodium lower has really helped me. I am…
  • Chug your water today!
  • I agree that it tends to be based on browsing history. It's probably because you posted about eating pizza tonight. Unless you saw it before you posted that thread.
  • My whole concept of "cheat days" has changed. I don't crave what I would have eaten on cheat days so really, it's just so different. To top it off, when I have cheated (maybe two days in the last month) I felt terrible. Not emotionally - physically. I was in a world of hurt. My stomach felt horrible and I had lots of…
  • I just started eating 1/2 cup plain yogurt w/1 tablespoon of agave nectar and it's really yummy! You could totally add some granola or fruit to it to spice it up even more!
  • Well, considering the article didn't seem to mention what would be considered "too much fruit" I wouldn't even bother trying to worry about what it means. I thought the quote you posted must have been out of context and figured it would make more sense reading the whole article. It didn't. Seems like he could have just…
  • I am exactly where you are at - 5'4" and between 147-148 pounds. My goal weight is 120-130. I'm honestly not sure if I can get down to 120. I was 115 in college but that was before getting married and having two kids. My goal right now is 135 and then see from there. However, (and I don't mean this in a crude way) - your…
  • I get plain yogurt and add some agave nectar to it - delish!

  • I haven't but a friend of mine is doing it right now. She has lost almost 20 pounds in a month. Gone from close to 190 down in the high 160's. She loves it - says it's the only thing she's been able to stick to. She said there is a really great board for support and that helps her. Definitely not a long term solution and…
  • Have you tried the orowheat sandwich thins? I am using these for sandwiches and find them quite tasty. Could still get most of your carbs, more fiber and a lot less sodium.
  • Ugh. These situations are so hard. Something could be a few hundred calories or a thousand - and honestly without the nutritional guide there is no real way of knowing. I went to Quiznos one time and ordered what I would have ordered at subway - assuming the calories would be similar - and it had WAY more calories. So, its…
  • TBH, most people don't get that look through healthy means. I would guess that her weight is in an underweight/unhealthy range but of course that is just a guess. What is your height and goal weight? ETA: Not to mention they are all photoshopped!
  • Going to post the same! LOVE the sweet chili sauce. We have 1/4 a bottle left over and it is so good I didn't want to throw it out even though I didn't think we'll use it. (Not buying frozen egg rolls.) That's why I was so excited to see this recipe!
  • Honestly, I think you need to just get rid of "those jeans" and not worry about it. 112 is slim for my height and you are 2 inches taller than me.
  • I posted in your other thread but you are definitely not eating enough if you are between 600-800 calories daily. You should be getting at least 1200 calories in.
  • Ok, I looked at your diary. Is that all you are eating??? If so you are definitely not eating enough. Not even close.
  • If you just started Jan 3 and have lost 17 so far I doubt you're hittting a plateau just yet. That is a good amount of weight to lose in that amount of time.
  • I only log it weekly and have picked a certain day (tuesdays) to do so. I am also trying to only weight once a week (on that day obviously) but so far I am not quite there. In your situation with breaking plateau and all that - I probably would have logged it too just because of excitement. :)
  • Ugh, I hate when that happens. Especially when you really were trying by taking some of the things off. The thing I don't get is how is it possible to have that many calories and fat??? Seriously, you can make it at home for so much less, how can they not just do a little tweaks to make things healthier? I just don't get…
  • You've gotten a lot of good input. It's so interesting because initially I thought "one cheat day a week." But after eating so well for a couple of weeks the thought of a cheat day wasn't even appealing. It's crazy to me that you can change what your body/mind crave. That's not saying they completely went away! But, you…
  • I've done a few different things. I do fiber supplements (powder you mix with water) and so I have one after dinner, before bed to help with that "hunger." When I really needed to snack (I have lost that desire altogether which is great) I would do the sugar free jello or pudding. I have also made ice cream sandwiches with…
  • I agree with PP - I wouldn't up your time. Maybe try doing short bursts of intervals instead of long ones? Just an idea. Instead of running x minutes or x miles you could run, then sprint, then walk, then sprint, then run, etc. and change up the incline.
