Thanks for posting this! I've been in your shoes, I lost 80+lbs years ago 'the wrong way' and gained it all back plus some extra ones. I joined MFP 4 years ago (1425 days of logging and counting!) and lost 100lbs over the course of about a year by counting calories and running a lot. Unfortunately I've been slipping and…

+ my 100lbs= 164.2

Coffee, raisin toast and scrambled eggs. I always eat the same thing in the morning whether I'm racing, doing my regular run or having a rest day.

I think it just depends on the individual, how long you're going out for and what your body is used to and can handle. Personally I eat a full breakfast (well toast, 2 scrambled eggs and coffee) and go out immediately after, regardless of the distance I'm running.

I know not everyone does, but for me personally, yes I do still log. I started MFP in Sept 2012 and it took me about a year to lose 100lbs. I've been maintaining ever since and although I've had ups and downs, I'm convinced the only reason I haven't completely fallen off at any point is because I've continued logging my…

I carry dog spray with me just in case.

I just wanted to say congrats on your success so far! That's amazing!

You've got this. Good luck!

The most I've run in one day was 62-ish miles (100km). I'm looking to do a 100 miler next year!

Yup, I've been wearing my Fitbit for 3+ years. I'll forget to wear it maybe once or twice a year; those are the days that moving just feels meaningless lol. A couple years ago I put it on the charger the morning I left for Italy and forgot to bring it with me. I EASILY got in 20 000 steps a day (20 000 x 10 days). It still…

I've been using the One for 3+ years now. 100lbs gone and about 16 000 000 steps later I still swear by it :)

Congrats on taking the first step and signing up! You'll likely have moments either in training or during the race where you wonder why the heck you decided to do this; as soon as you cross the finish line, you'll realize it was all worth it. I've run 2 marathons and 3 ultras, this is my post to MFP after I ran my first…

I just saw your update, congrats on your finish!! Well done!

I'm a slow runner! I love running long distances and hate doing speedwork. My average time for a half marathon distance is 2:25 (although I did get a PR last year with 2:08) and my fastest marathon was 4:38. I really have no desire to get faster right now, but maybe one day.

Sure it's a fad. Are people really going to be wearing them for the rest of their lives? Probably not, but really, who cares? It's a fad that gets people up and moving. It makes them aware of how sedentary they actually are and makes them want to do something about it. There is no way that's a bad thing. I've been wearing…

I hope it's ok that I'm joining the challenge halfway through the month. I did some of these challenges last year and they're great! After a pretty dismal December for running (I ran 3 times), I spent January getting back into it and now ready to start ramping up my mileage again. My goal for February is 200km and I'm…

I've got 3 50 milers planned in 2016 (June, Aug and Sept).

Yes, I've been maintaining for 2+ years and still tracking my calories. I don't see that changing. I'm definitely way more laid back about it than I was when I was losing. I've been doing it for 3 years now (1158 consecutive days) so I rarely use my food scale anymore; I can eyeball portion sizes pretty well. If I'm eating…

Steak. I stopped eating meat when I was 14 and never tried it before that.

In 2001 I starved myself to lose over 80lbs, which is definitely the stupidest 'diet' I could have ever done. I didn't care about being healthy, I just wanted the weight gone and gone fast. I lost it in just under 5 months by eating an average of 500 calories per day (went from 226lbs to 140lbs). I lost a ton of hair, was…

With lots of cream and sugar. My coffee wasn't something I was willing to mess with; the calories are worth it.
-
I usually eat a full breakfast then head right out the door to run. As long as it doesn't affect your stomach while you're working out, I'd say don't worry about it. I personally can't be active on an empty stomach.

Well said!

I've been using my Fitbit One for nearly 3 years and love it. The only thing is, I have to replace the little clip every year or so (about $25) but it's worth it to me. When my One dies, I'll just replace it with another one; I'm personally not a fan of the wristbands so I won't consider any of the other Fitbits. I like…

I ran a very chilly 7km today; it was -18C with the windchill. I tried not to remind myself that last year there were weeks so cold that a -18 day was when it 'finally warmed up'. :'( Is it summer yet??? November Total: 150km/93 miles and 100km/62-ish miles to go)

You've got this!

I like pumpkin cheesecake, pie not so much.

I'm 2 years into maintenance and my biggest struggle has been not falling back into my old ways. It's ridiculously easy to slowly slide back without even realizing it, once the excitement of losing weight has worn off. The weight loss phase has a beginning and an end; you're motivated and excited. You're buying new…

I was on holidays last week so I haven't updated in a while. I'm at 143km for the month with 107km to go.
