  • glad to hear you say this. I've often thought about having a tummy tuck to get rid of the flap that was created when I had two major surgeries about 20 years ago. but I've also thought about getting the girls worked on once I lost weight. now I may have to consider both. (i'm going to be 55 in June)
  • i'm not a patient person. I want to see results immediately. so I don't start watching what I eat because I know i'll just quit in a couple of weeks because I don't see any results. but I've got to get this weight off. by beautiful grandchildren need a fun Grankakes!
  • this program (MFP) makes me aware of what i'm really eating when I log consistently and correctly. out of the first 7 days, I was under my calories 4, and barely over the other 3. I think a lot of people who diet (me included) don't really realize how many calories they are actually eating. good luck! and yes, i'm starting…
  • i'm a little older than you (54 3/4) but add me - I've got a smooth 100 to lose. I know its not going to be easy, and I hate the "slow and steady" motto. If I eat right today, I want the scales to show a 10 pound loss tomorrow! I've been battling this for almost 30 years. (I USED to be a skinny little thang!)...
  • ok - so i'm just going to jump right in. been here before (like many of us) and I seriously want to get rid of this weight. i'm 54 3/4, 5'3", and weigh 225. I need to loose 100 pounds. I know it will take a while to get to know everyone, but I like the "flavor" of this group! I want to be able to play with my beautiful…
  • bump - great list!
  • wow - what an uplifting message! thanks. I really needed that!
  • i'm starting AGAIN too. i'm 54, mother of 2 wonderful boys with 2 terrific wives and 2 fantastic grandkids - 8 months, and 2 years. I have to get this weight off so I can keep up with them! been married for 30 years - Christian, love reading, making photo books online, and too many projects to name!
  • p.s. I just got back 'on the wagon' this week!
  • I know several who have done a 21-day Daniel fast. but I have seriously been looking at it as a way of eating. keep me in mind if you start a group.
  • well add me too. 54 with about 100 to lose. got 2 beautiful new grandchildren and i've got to get in shape to keep up with them!
  • i call it my spandex. and since my thighs rub together so bad - i wear them EVERY DAY!!!! i coudln't survive without them. i've been wearing them for years!!!!!
  • i get mine at academy sports. they have plus sizes cause i usually get an xl or xxl
  • add me - 100 to lose. not fit - YET. i used to walk 3 miles a day, then i had foot surgery. its not ready to walk again, but when it is, i'll be back on the track!
  • i'm with you. i can say things here that i can't tell 'real' friends. and i have a sister in law that would drive me nuts HELPING me if she knows i'm on a diet of anykind. she's a fanatic about food and fat and calories, etc.. i won't even go there. i've started my journey too many times to count. but i've got 2 precious…
  • i can cook and DO cook. we just aren't home enough to do it regularly. and i KNOW i have to make eating changes.
  • ok - swig away - i guess what i meant to say was - water works best doing what it is supposed to in your body when you DON"T swig it. sure, there are times when swigging is necessary because of our thirst. but when you drink it fast, your body just flushes it right back out and it doesn't have time to trickle down to all…
  • i'm gonna start posting here if that's ok. i've got an even 100 to lose and started (for the 347th time) again on monday 7/1/13.
  • i did know a lady that drank about a gallon of water a day, but did no exercise. she ended up in the hospital and they told her she WAS drinking too much water. but that's rare. my son is an ER nurse and health nut. he says just don't drink too much at once. don't swig 8 oz at a time.
  • oh, i don't do soda of any kind. i had a series of gall-bladder attacks earlier this spring and while trying to diagnose it, i quit all carbondated drinks. i've kept it up since i had surgery in april. i'm not the greatest water drinker, even though i used to be. i like tea. but i'm slowly working my way back up to 100oz a…
  • i have a niece that is doing Clean Eating. she's doing really great, and exercising. but she cooks for a family of 5. its just me and hubby and i don't do much cooking so all the buying clean eating food would require not only a change in eating, but everything else too. i guess it just seems a lot of trouble. i may change…

  • SUPER CONGRATS! GIVE YOURSELF A HIGH FIVE!!!
  • i do that too. i get new memory cards for my camera ALL the time! and new flash drives. i have a little plastic box with about 2 dozen flash sticks in it. and a case in my camera bag with at least a dozen cards! oh well! at least they are little!
  • got about 100 to lose. just started back 'on the wagon' so to speak, yesterday. i don't like being fat. it makes me snore. it makes it hard to get up off the floor playing with the grandbaby. and now another is on the way. i want to be an in-shape granny! and i would not even BEGIN to know how many times i've started a…
  • like i said - i just heard about it yesterday. doing research today. looks like a no-go. just another fad my main plan is to just eat healthy. fruits, veggies, lean meat. and some of you - WOW - great jobs at weight loss. i hope i'm there with you one of these days!
  • all my nieces and nephs call me KK, but i didn't want my grandchildren to call me that. one niece called me Kakes, so we decided on GranKakes. the baby is only 9 months old right now, so we'll see what he converts it to when he starts talking! and his cousin (#2 grandbaby) is on the way!!!
