  • I love those!! With a slice of cheese and some cucumber. Mmm. Or some cream cheese! I used to eat those all the time when I studied abroad in sweden and I'd forgotten about them! I'm so excited to add them to my shopping list now that you reminded me of their awesome existence :)

  • I started the shred on the 1st at 210.6 and yesterday I weighed 207.4 for a loss of 3.2 pounds! I also do 45-60 min of additional cardio though, because I'm on winter break and really trying to jumpstart my weight loss again! :) I did take a rest day one week into it to give my muscles a break and I noticed I came back…
  • You might want to bring back a small low-cal snack before bed if you thought that that helped you sleep. If I'm hungry before bed I have a small snack (TBSP PB on a ricecake or a banana, etc) and I fall right to sleep. Even if it pushes you over by 100 cal, it is completely worth it to be able to sleep through the night.…
  • This is an excellent idea and I'd love to jump on board. I'm not sure I can do 10lbs a month (I avg about 6lb/mo.), so I'm aiming for 10lbs every 1.5 months! Starting weight on 1/1/10 - 210.2 (Current 207.4 :) ) 2/15/10 - 202.2 4/1/10 - 190.2 5/15/10 - 180.2 7/1/10 - 170.2 8/1/10 - 165 - GOAL WEIGHT!!
  • I used to weight nearly 300 pounds and was the shyest person I know. I would go to the gym and hide on the elliptical in the very back corner until one day I realized no one was EVER looking at me! I've lost a lot of weight by going to the gym (I'm at 207.5lb now) and absolutely love it. I'm still a big girl and I go…
  • I always take one day off a week because I notice that my workouts begin to suffer at the end of the week (shredding everyday + 1hr alternate cardio). Even the biggest losers get 1 day off a week and I think it's pretty essential for weight loss and muscle recovery. If you can do this 30 days in a row with no break, more…

  • I can totally relate BUT here is my thinking, sometimes those high cal days force you to eat better and I usually see a loss in the next few days after a big splurge. Plus, this isn't a diet it's a lifestyle change and you can't cut out everything you enjoy - you'd go crazy! Maybe tack an extra 15 - 20 min to your next…
  • That was really frustrating for me, too. You just have to check around with brands and different fits. Also, JC Penneys does 15's, 13's etc if that helps! I'm in the same situation so I feel your pain! I feel like I have to suck my tummy in ALL day if I go a size down, but I feel ridiculous in a size up! At least it's…

  • I'm in! Love that show, even though it's not realistic to the real world it is still super inspiring!
  • HAPPY NEW YEARS TO YOU ALL!!!!! Knowing I had this weigh-in kept me on track all week (though I did splurge a little yesterday, but even then it was only a moderate splurge!). I'm so excited because I'm back to my pre-holiday weight!!!! Start:214 End 210.6 What a week! Barry's boot camp, clean eating and the immense will…
  • Back to pre-holiday weight and even minus an extra 0.2lbs as well!!!! • Wow, you look absolutely amazing!! Very pretty! That is such an accomplishment to lose that much weight in that short of time! Keep up the great work!!
  • Thanks, you guys are awesome! I finished my last day of boot camp yesterday, so I'm taking a much needed breather and starting tomorrow. I'm aiming to do each level for 10 days just to kind of set a goal for myself. I'm excited and a little nervous, haha, it sounds like quite the workout!!
  • Yikes, I'm on Yaz and I thought that I actually lost weight when I started! maybe I was just so afraid of gaining weight that I was subconsciously making better choices (this was before I started logging with MFP), To be fair, I think my hormones were crazy out of whack when I first started it though, so Yaz brought me…
  • Definitely don't give up! It takes time to overhaul your eating habits and the most important thing is that you logged it all in and learned from it. You can do it! Plus, it's always harder on a vacation - no matter how mini :) I just wanted to add that it took me several days to get it down for me to be consistently (but…
  • Awesome, timmijop - that is EXACTLY what I needed today!! It felt like so much effort to get up and go work out tonight but you are right, I need to hit the ground running in 2010! It totally helps get my butt moving after reading all the support and encouragement on MFP! I ended up working out really hard at the gym today…
  • Hey all, I hope everyone is avoiding those holiday left-overs! :) 4 more days left to work out, eat healthy and hit 2010 going strong!! I did 60 min of interval on the elliptical and Barry's Boot Camp Wk3D2, so I'm feeling pretty good about that. Sounds like we got some ambitious people in this group, so good luck all!
  • I love applesauce and peanut butter on my waffles, but just applesauce is yummy, too!
  • I think plain old clean eating and some intense cardio sessions should have you feeling completely detoxed within a week without having to buy anything extra!

  • I've always been wary about estimated calories burned, so I only ever eat half to 3/4 of my exercise calories, which gives me a little leeway in case they are over-estimated!
  • Oh my gosh yes! You look great! I notice that I have a hard time seeing a difference in my own weight loss even though other people notice. You see yourself everyday and just somehow miss all those little changes, but your weight loss is definitely noticeable so keep up the good work!
  • I know this is a small group, but I'm still gonna keep bumping this until the first :) I was feeling so sluggish this morning, slept in and had a total carb and ice-cream induced food hangover, but after taking the dog for a three mile walk, a little cardio at the gym and some solid strength training I feel so awesome…
  • Some intense cardio might make you want to drink more water. Also, you could add more liquid rich foods to your diet, like soups and stuff. Would adding flavor to your water (crystal light, special K protein mix, etc) help?
  • Yea! You guys are awesome. It is definitely going to help me from falling into the trap of eating ALL the leftover christmas candy at work. Tentative plan today: Start with a nice stroll with the dog, then tonight do some strength training and some cardio at the gym!
  • I didn't see this thread til today, but it is perfect motivation! I've been feeling all sorts of lazy and keep thinking I'll wait until Jan 1st to kick back into it, but joining this group and knowing I have a weigh-in on the 1st will get my butt in gear this next week! This is my first time doing any sort of…
  • I saw a study published about how mild exercise can not only ease the symptoms of the cold or flu, but can also reduce the length of time that you are sick. The study was done in rats, but it probably holds true for humans as well. I'd think walking, mild swimming, biking etc would be ok! :) It'll give your immune system a…
  • I haven't done the p90x, but if you are looking for a bump up in intensity from Jillian's tapes, think about Barry's Boot Camp. I've been doing it for 2 weeks, lost 6 pounds and an inch off both my chest and hips. I've had disc issues in my lower back for years, as well as a torn muscle that never quite healed right, so…
  • Flintstones chewables are the way to go! I have tried a lot of brands and many of them make me sick, ESPECIALLY the One-A-Day Women's formula, but generally do OK on childrens vitamins. No matter what brand, however, I try and avoid taking vitamins in the morning.
