Well, I'm on day 21 of a 90-day challenge. I'm doing ChaLEAN Extreme, which is mostly weight lifting. There's also a cardio portion of it, but you could just skip that and do the weightlifting if you wanted to. But you're not going to de-squish anything without some kind of exercise!

Hi & welcome to MFP! This is a very encouraging, inspiring place to be. Feel free to add me as a friend, if you'd like. I am 46 and have 3 teenagers, but I have friends of all ages (and all over the world, actually) on this site. Best of luck to you!

I find the really rude, cruel people go to the forums, unfortunately. If you're friends with them, it's much less likely they'll be mean. But I've had some MEAN replies. It is an open forum, but it still sucks.

Congrats on a great job, and keep it up!! It's much easier to take it IN than to take it OUT!

I am doing ChaLEAN Extreme, and I swear this is a great program. The weights videos on the first section (Burn) are 32-28 mins. long. I think the Push & Lean videos (the second & third sections) are a little longer, maybe 45 mins. Good luck to you, hope you find a program that works for you!

I'm not really sure about this one. I can't take pills, so I drink Shakeology daily, which has everything you listed except COQ10 in it. If my reflux is acting up, I drink two shakes. Good luck & hope you get a better answer than this!

It's funny, because I *just* had this talk with a (obese) friend who says she once was bulimic and a size 2 and now is obese. She says that being anorexic and being obese are the flip sides of the same coin -- and I think you hit the nail on the head with "obsession." I am fascinated by fitness, so I read a LOT on it and…

Great music and/or fast-paced show, like an old "Alias" episode. Great question, by the way!

Well, I love onions, so you can run next to me!!

This is why I do programs. They give me a specific GOAL even when I don't have the inner motivation or drive for that day. If I commit to do ___ today, I'll do it. I am currently doing ChaLEAN Extreme, which is a 90-day program. I've had two days this week where I totally did not feel like it, but I don't base it on how I…

I think you can count on at least the three of us to cheer you on! What was it?

It's part of your overall body fat, so you're going to have to reduce your body fat in order to see a difference. You can spot train, but you can't spot lose. Clean up your diet, incorporate HIIT (high intensity interval training) for cardio and lift some heavy weights. Good luck!

I swear by Epsom salt baths for soreness. It really helps. Cheap & effective. Good luck!

Em, your long-term health is more important than any event. I totally feel for you. I missed my yearly Iron Girl Triathlon this year because I was sick day of. It's heartbreaking. But you have to take care of yourself -- all of yourself -- before you do an event. Maybe this means you don't do the first half that's in eight…

Congrats to you! And by all means, log your progress, if you've made it -- you earned it! I personally cannot weigh myself daily. Once a week is a chore for me, and it makes me nuts at that. Way to go!

Wow, that is a LOT on your health plate! The good news is, so much of these things are lifestyle, and you can turn the ship around. Best of luck to you and feel free to add me as a friend!

I am on day 5 of a 90-day Beachbody Challenge, doing ChaLEAN Extreme. Message me if you're interested.

NOBODY?! Seriously?:noway:

Just let yourself feel what you feel. I've had two "sad days" in a row now, yesterday and today, and I can't quite figure it out. That being said, reach out to friends, relax, read a book, drink a glass of wine. Take care of yourself. "This too shall pass." Hugs to you!

For those who asked, here are the basics from Tosca Reno who wrote the Eat-Clean Diet book series (which I highly recommend): You eat lean protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats. You drink 10-12 cups of water a day. You eat every 3-5 hours. You eat 5-6 small meals a day. Avoid sugar, unhealthy fats and unhealthy carbs.…

I vote for the heart rate monitor. It's my understanding it's VERY easy to over-estimate how much you're burning. Good luck! How do you concentrate with that thing?

Ow and ewwww.:ohwell:

Ruh-roh! I am a goner! I eat two eggs a LOT of mornings. They're yummy, buttery delicious. Guess you can put that on my headstone!

Welcome to MFP! This is a very inspiring, motivating and encouraging place to be. (And can I say, thanks for posting in BOTH lbs. and stones -- it helps). Good luck to you & feel free to add me as a friend.

You are definitely at the right place for support. All of those new habits -- and breaking old ones -- sound great and very doable. Good luck to you! Feel free to add me as a friend.

I log daily, and I'm happy to have more friends!
