  • Well, this is THE problem with weight loss & maintenance, isn't it? We are all SO in the same boat! I swear, for really busy people, I suggest they buy prepackaged, precut produce. I know it's a little goofy, because you can totally cut it yourself, BUT you can get a fruit tray or a vegetable tray at Costco already…
  • Great job, congrats! I'm right behind ya! Oh, and by the way, you look 20 years younger!
  • A few come to mind: Killer Bootcamp (if you're hard core); Bikini Bootcamp; Butt-Kicking Bootcamp; Sweat Til You Drop Bootcamp. Do all of these suck, or is it just me?
  • Oh, no!! Don't give up, Tillzie!! You are too young, too pretty & too sweet to just throw up your hands already. Some suggestions that may help you: go back & look at your water intake, calorie count, sodium count, etc. for the past month. If you've been logging consistently, you have a great way of monitoring your own…
  • I'm doing ChaLEAN Extreme right now, and I think she's fantastic. Good luck & congrats on the new baby!
  • Welcome! This is a very supportive & encouraging place to be. Here's to reaching all your goals, good luck!:drinker:
  • I think it *really* depends on where your calories are coming from, like the previous post said. If you are eating a lot of basic, clean food, like veggies and fruits, your calorie count will be much lower. Jonny Bowden (my go-to guy on nutrition) says studies show women lose weight at around 1,350-1,400 calories a day.…

  • I just googled it, and briefly, it looks like there are special "HCG drops" that you buy; it is a calorie restricted diet, also. I haven't looked up any more particulars of it. I would be wary of anything that promises 1-2 lbs. per DAY, however.
  • Yay, I found it! Here's the link for anybody who wants to see what 5 lbs. of fat looks like next to 5 lbs. of muscle. And it's pretty dramatic. Link: http://www.briansfatburningblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/fat-vs-muscle.jpg
  • Thanks, all I am 5'5" and I was 138 when I was a size 7/8. Size 7/8 is really my *true* goal. It would not matter to me if I weighed what I weigh now, as long as I can fit into size 7/8's. I was probably 15 lbs. lighter than what I am now in the picture I posted on MFP. Now I'm curious to find out visually what a pound of…
  • It all depends on your activity level, age, how often and how hard you work out, whether or not you lift weights, etc. In other words, it's highly individual and specific to your metabolism. I'd suggest you keep close track of your weight and your size (with a tape measurement, not using store sizes). Good luck, and…
  • I've started buying grass-fed, pasture raised beef. It is much better for you than what you can get in the regular grocery stores, and it is a little it pricier; it is much lower in fat, however. You also need to use lower heat when you cook it. Good luck in your quest to eat better!
  • Oh, I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! I really REALLY am working on food -- I think it's the key to weight loss & maintenance -- but Diet Coke and its ilk (including Coke Zero) call my name. Daily. My problem is exacerbated by the fact that my diabetic husband refuses to give up diet soda and drinks the equivalent of…
  • There's a reason God gave you teeth -- liquid diets are a quick fix and eventually bite you in the long run. Remember when Oprah did it and gained it all back? UGH. Fruits & veggies, lean protein sources and a lot of water. Add exercise. Good luck to you!
  • Congrats on a great job!
  • Hey, that's not throwing in the towel, that's waving the towel around!! Great job on your weight loss. And continuing with maintenance is so important. I went from a size US 16 to 7/8 five years ago, then gained it back (went up to a 12); I'm currently down to a 10 but want to get back to a size 8/135 lbs. This time, I am…
  • Congrats on your loss! And hello from the US. This is one of the things I LOVE about this site, having friends from all over the world. Best of luck to you on your maintenance. I'm not there yet, but I plan to be by August 25th (my birthday).
  • Wow, that is truly impressive! AND you've lost a ton of weight!! I'd love to see those before & after pics. Great job!
  • Well, sometimes, it's like "okaaaaaay then" when I see some of the pics on here. Then again, if you have that much body confidence, go for it!
  • It's so funny you bring this up. I was just telling my best friend this a.m., I've lost 11 lbs (not a huge loss; I have 24 more to go) and I swear hardly ANYBODY has commented! I know I shouldn't need affirmation from other people, but come on! You've done a great job so far, keep up the good work.
  • You know that saying, "If it's not one thing, it's your mother"? Family can dig at you like nobody else sometimes. I'm so sorry he said such a rotten thing to you. Keep up the good work and don't dwell on it. And next time, maybe you can turn to him and say, "Pot, meet Kettle!"
  • Once you get to work, then what happens? And for how long?
  • You can do it! Your story rings true for a lot of us, me included. In 2005, I was a size 7/8; I went back up to a size 12 between 2008-2010 and am now down to a (tight) 10 since November. It sucks to start over, but you start from where you start. Now my goal is, KEEP IT OFF!! Good luck to you!
  • Oh, honey, soak it up!!! Way to go on your weight loss -- ENJOY the compliments!
  • Congrats on healthy eating choices! None of us got here (overweight) because we couldn't pull ourselves away from the produce aisle. Fruit is a VERY healthy choice -- it has lots of fiber, water and natural sugar; it's absorbed by your body much differently than a simple sugar like that from cookies or cake. Unless you are…
  • Interval training? Walking backwards? Walking on your hands (no, just kidding).
  • I LOVE that! Go, girl!
  • Welcome to MFP! This is a very encouraging, positive & inspiring place to be. Here's reaching all your goals (weight & otherwise)!:drinker:
  • WOW! Congrats on doing such a fabulous job so far! I've read something similar about calorie cycling, where you eat higher calories one day and then lower another. It makes sense, since our bodies love to pick a spot & stay there (good old homeostasis) to shock your body into changing. Best of luck to you!
  • Hi from the USA and welcome! You've done such a fantastic job, keep up the good work!
