To those who said about only doing weights at the gym, tbh with how limited my gym is I'd struggle to do a decent workout just on the weights machines. I'd be wasting my money going there... I'm trying to support the OH and get him going with it too - i feel like if i stopped the gym (nevermind that i enjoy it) he'd…

Hi All, firstly thank you all for such very quick and helpful replies! I'm happy to tweak my gym workouts if you think that would solve the problem - one thing I did want to add though is that I'm reasonably positive it isn't the cardio in the gym thats the problem... purely because I had no problems when i was running…

Warburtons wholemeal thin toasted with flora light (130 kcal), small braeburn apple (47 kcal), cup of tea with semi skimmed milk and 1 sugar (35 kcal) total 212

you can get meringue nests from the co-op (uk) that are about 50 calories each, im sure most supermarkets would have similar. or try to make them yourself but so far ive failed at every attempt lol

I've seen people on here saying that definition is largely about the amount of bodyfat you have, rather than just the size of your muscles. if you had less bodyfat then i guess it would make sense that the same exercise would give you definition quicker

bumped for later reading! PS Fantastic transformation and fab thread, very interesting. :)

That was a very interesting post! thanks for sharing :)

I try to keep alcohol for the weekends, but thats mainly because i think it's good for my liver to have a 4 day break every week :P I eat pretty much whatever i want though as long as it fits in my calorie limit

This - when i have weighed stuff i usually find that i'm overestimating the portion size and calories, not under, so if im cooking a biog batch of veg especially starchy veg for dinner and it's easy to weigh then yes, but for lettuce and salad i dont bother at all and not really for fruit as i tend to eat that at work…

pre pack your meals & snacks thereby eliminating the need to go anywhere that food is sold (so you can't deviate from them) and leave your wallet in the car so if you want to buy something you have to make a special trip. Schedule reminders in your outlook calender for eating your snacks (i.e. i have breakfast 8.30, snack…

Love this post - thank you

Sausages? you can microwave the frozen ones in a few minutes ....

Yep - me and my boyfriend had the week off and went on a road trip up north to see his family - it was lovely but i think we probably averaged about 3000-3500 calories a day for the week because we were eating out every meal. I'm up 5lbs and just hoping that some of it is food weight rather than actual gain but with those…

I think this is a really great post, however, having read the whole of this thread, there are a number of people being just plain rude. And genuinely, there's a big difference between 'a bit snitty cos you've heard this a million times' and openly confrontational, and then attacking everyone who subsequently disagrees with…

Just wow what an ignorant post :O Op, as others have said you need to eat properly if you are breastfeeding, no matter whether you gain a little or not your baby should come first...

Cheers for the backup :) as i said to the doubter, fitbit tracked my steps for all my shifts and for the bar I worked at, thats what i burnt. I've found the fitbit very accurate in terms of steps/calories and never had any issues with it. OP, you need to be eating more on your shifts. Lots of people dont understand how…

Ok well doubt away, i;ll take what my fitbit gave me as my calorie burn for the day thanks :P
-
Use a fitbit to track your steps - thats how i knew what i was burning working at a bar. usually for a 7.5 hour shift it'd be 10/12,000 steps and about 4-500 calories. But then i don't burn loads because im small

Ok so the article is worth a read as there were some interesting snippets in it. but ultimately i disagree with it. I totally agree that you'll FEEL different choosing a diet based around different 'quality' of calories (if you were to have 1200 kcals of mcdonalds every day you'd probably feel tired, hungry and greasy),…

I've been reading up on vertigo and working out (had a bout last week), and it seems that there could be a link between high impact jumping type exercises and vertigo - google turned up a few studies that indicated doing high impact exercising can destabilise/damage the bones in your ear responsible for balance. my…

^^ eggs, avocado, quorn products, tin of tuna or mackeral as a snack... when i find myself doing the constant grazing i do defintiely find that making a conscious effort to make my snacks protein based does make a big difference.

Although i wholeheartedly agree that the quality of the food you eat can make a massive amount of difference to how you feel at lower calorie intakes - i feel obligated to point out that the above quote is rubbish. My absolute lowest weight (i had/am recovering from eating problems so this is in no way a recommendation to…

bumped and saved - very very useful thank you

Are you logging religiously? like every single thing and accurate quantities? because excercising that much can defintiely stimulate appetite, and it's possible that if you have worked out hard you'll allow yourself and extra treat or handful of somethign, or full fat drink, and not be counting the calories. that could…

Ephedrine worked temporarily for me, but my body became accustomed to it pretty quickly and then i started getting panic attacks so long term definitely not a success my friend swears by Ali

I nap in my lunch hour quite often as i have 2 jobs, it does help. you want to get a light sleep rather than go into deep sleep and then wake up in that because that will leave you more tired. 1 hr max, set an alarm and have a coffe or something when you wake up. it takes about 20 mins after waking to feel the benefits of…

If walking is your primary excercise id suggest getting a fitbit - i think its a fair bit more accurate than the mfp calculations. If you're worried about not losing than eat most but not all of your exercise calories back... that way you avoid feeling like your depriving yourself all the time, because you get to eat more,…
