I totally side with the fat guy - I'd be pretty insulted if someone decided to stick their nose in, imagine they knew my life story and then patronizingly congratulate me on achievements they know nothing about. In fact i'd be telling them to chuff off in far less eloquent manner.

Yes it definitely is - I absolutely love mine! first i had the zip which is the very basic one, but now i have the charge HR. If you need it just for steps my recommendation would be the one, as that's more accurate than the flex (i believe) but does all the same things. highly recommend

Ah thank you for posting the update and the reply... I was getting concerned because their announcement about it sounded like they considered it fixed... Fingers crossed they manage to get it sorted soon... It s a total pain!

Hey_rochelle did yours return to normal yet? Mine is doing the same and has been since Thursday. Everything works apart from my calories burned aren't transferring from fitbit unless I force them by disconnecting and reconnecting the tracker in mfp. It's really annoying! Not sure whether to wait or email them... Did it…

What activity level do you have your mfp account set at? My fitbit only adjusts if I do more than my activity level. I've set it to sedentary so I can see exactly how much exercise I'm doing. So if your level is set at about the amount of exercise you're doing you won't get any adjustments.. Other than that maybe try re…

Well it would certainly work but it's not exactly going to teach people anything about a healthy lifestyle if you can basically just binge like crazy and then empty it out. That will just encourage more binging. They'll end up in precisely the same cycle that bulimics do

It depends what the rest of your week looks like. If you've been under the rest of the week you could just maintain. Have a look at the nutrition reports on the app and look at the weekly report. It'll tell you how many calories you have left to eat for the week / how many you've eaten so far out of a weekly total. You…

Wouldn't that be too easy though? Sorry I hope I'm not asking too many questions but for example the routine I did this morning had hammer curls in it. For the first set of 10 reps I could (with difficulty) do them with 5.5kg. After the first set tho I thought I might pop something if I carried on so I switched to 4kg and…

One thing I do find a but difficult is choosing the right weight. I can usually start the first set of reps with a higher one but my arms get tired quickly so I go down because they always say about having to do it with the proper form. It's a little hard to know when is the time to swap down if you're finding it hard, or…

Haha that's what I meant but maybe it didn't come across like that.. I meant like two sets of workouts twice a week each so four times total :-)
-
Awesome guys thanks for your help! I like the idea of picking two full body strength workouts to do twice each a week and then just adding cardio on too pending the amount of energy at the time.. Reckon I'll give that a bash and see how it goes. Thank you again to everyone for taking the time to reply... Much appreciated!

Must admit I only do short bits of yoga to try and stretch my muscles out when they're stiff.. Like an extended cool down. I do want to try and do more but currently my flexibility is so poor I can't even do half the moves!
-
Wow that's great that you got to return it - £120 is a lot to lose! At least you have a good start then budget wise to pick your next tracker
-
OK so firstly thanks everyone for replying! To give more detail... I do walk as well as I'm a hyper person. Without really trying I get to around 8,000 steps a day on my fitbit. When I do a cardio routine on fitnessblender it tends to come in around 12,000 to 15,000 so I'm not probably looking to do much more cardio than…

I can't workout after I eat - the food makes me sluggish and I get a stitch so I always go for first thing in the morning

My least favourite thing is purely how quickly you lose your fitness and exercise wins if you go off piste for a while, and in similar vein how annoyed I get with myself when I have a great week but then end up having a boozy weekend when seeing lots of friends... It's so hard to get straight back into it. But that just…

I have the fitbit charge HR and absolutely love it. I totally second the thought to just get the correct size. Why not put your smaller one on eBay or something to help you recoup some of the cost?
-
Also wanted to add that I'm not a very consistent and dedicated exerciser so at the moment I'm probably quite a beginner level in terms of general fitness

Whilst I agree that you can't out exercise I bad diet, the big thing that's missing if you purely restrict your calories is the massive gains in mental wellbeing that exercise provides. I find that exercise makes me happier, reduces mood swings, makes me far less likely to binge and overall just makes me feel good. I think…

mini cheese & onion quiches (140 calories per quiche), salad, a go ahead yogurt break and a diet coke. 462 calories :)

A meringue nest with 30ml single cream and a big blob of foamy cream on top of that. It's my go to sweet treat that doesn't ruin my calories :-)
-
it might start some negative thoughts off and lead to binging though. If i were having a tough day, this would be my thought process after reading your post: -He's calling me weak and un-dedicated because i'm struggling with my weightloss -why am i so useless, why do i find this so hard? -it's totally true and I'm going to…

another one who doesn't carry their phone around all day. plus i like the step challenges with your friends ... they are incredibly motivating i find. im looking to upgrade to the charge + HR soon as i really want to be able to monitor my heart rate as well as my steps

I'm a big fan of a mahoosive salad for lunch. I make mine with leaves, veggies if i have any cooked, grated carrot, 50g pasta (and a teaspoon of pesto to flavour it) and then a handful of chicken or bacon. It includes the protein and carbs i need to keep me going throughout the afternoon but it satisfies me in a way that a…

Awesome thanks guys I appreciate the help... I hadn't considers kettle bells really... I shall have a look at them too!

Awesome - very well done. Honesty is usually the best policy in situations like this - it's just a struggle sometimes to phrase things in a non confrontational way. you obviously nailed that one if they apologised to you!

Shiritake noodles... Wtf is up with their texture it's plan wrong!

Thats fine for you, but i wasn't telling you that you needed to be inspired or motivated by your dietitian - i was stating that I personally do. Which was actually the original question. So in answer to your question 'Do people really go to a nutritionist for inspiration?' the answer is yes, some people do. It entirely…

It would really depend how big they were. Overweight but still healthy and fit looking then sure no problem. If they looked like a contestant for the biggest loser then no way - I would struggle to be inspired by someone who for whatever reason doesn't embody the lifestyle they're instructing you on. Lead by example and…
