Don't wait to compete. It's a great experience no matter what your total is and you will be able to apply what you learn to better your training.

Body weight squats (google "Goblet squat 101") Push ups Pull ups (get a door-hanging pullup bar for $10 from TJ Maxx or $30 from ****'s. If you can't do 1, jump up and do the negative until you develop the strength to do one) Alternating reverse lunges

Goblet squats for a while, but you'll want to gain access to a barbell soon. Deadlifting less than 45 lbs is very boring and not productive after a couple weeks.
