So MANY women in my family and circle of friends & acquaintances fail to realize this. They've wound up stuck with, even married to these losers. WAKE UP!

Xtreme Wellness tortillas. Only 50 calories each with 5 grams of protein. I eat 2 or 3 a day.

Wow! Great job.

It is annoying, but I've gotten used to seemingly massive weight swings. After an MSG/salt laden take out Chinese food meal, my weight can swing up nearly 4 lbs. the next weigh in. Same thing if I miss a daily bowel movement. I can also swing down nearly that much if I engage in an activity that causes me to perspire…

In the past, once I reached my goal weight I would JUMP back up to what I considered a 'normal' calorie intake and then I battled with hunger frequently. This time, I eased my caloric intake up about 100 calories a week for nearly 7 weeks and so far, there hasn't been nearly the struggle.

90 minutes pushing a heavy shopping cart, followed by 90 minutes of pushing a lawnmower around my yard, followed by 35 minutes of walking the neighborhood (2.5 mph) with my wife. Interspersed in between these were 3 brief pull-up workouts of 3 sets each. Just to take a break from lifting, etc...

I lost 50 lbs. in roughly 7 months, or approximately 1.5 lbs. per week. I maintained nearly all of my muscle mass, as I could lift as much or more weight with my resistance exercises. I followed the plan, ate at a reasonable deficit and exercised 60 to 90 minutes a day. Would it be so bad to lose 35 to 40 lbs. in 5 months…

Bought a pair of size 34 blue jeans today. Haven't worn that size since playing football in my sophomore year in high school, 45 years ago.

Strange thing (for me) is, if I focus on JUST my calorie and protein count, the rest of my macros seem to fall into place. Seems I instinctively (?) eat a proportional amount of carbs, fats, sugars, etc. the helped me lose, and later maintain my weight.
-
Maintenance (to me) started when I decided to start 'upping' my calories in an attempt to stop losing weight. Therefore (to me) maintenance started when I no longer tried to lose weight. True I dropped a couple more pounds before finding my proper maintenance calorie/activity goals. But that was incidental.

2-1/2 years AF. It has gone away a lot for me. Sometimes I go days, other times weeks without thinking about it. But I don't hang around in bars or cigar lounges like I used to either. My friends don't seem to care and even when they drink around me, my thoughts are mostly "I'm glad I don't drink anymore". Pluses, I'm down…

I feel your pain. I had a lifting competition on MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND, and they've already cancelled/postponed. What?! That's over 10 weeks out! No inkling of a refund for my entry fee either.

I recognize my "ah ha" moments are when my pants don't fit, or I weigh more than I have for a long time, etc., etc.. What I'd really like to know/remember are what were my "I give up" OR "I ain't doing this anymore" moments that lead to me starting to stop caring. Even more important, how to avoid them or change that…

The first couple of times I went out with friends it was awkward. But then they saw that I could have a good time and be social without being 'hammered'. Seems my social awkwardness I thought I needed alcohol to get over, wasn't so debilitating after all. Strangely, some of them started joining in with either not drinking…

I ate 800 calories on Wednesday so I could wolf down 2500 at a Lenten fish fry on Friday. The average for the two days, , , 1650. So I'm still doing good. When I hear/see the "never go under 1200 calories a day" sayings, I know it's about not eating that little for a long time or averaging that little over a long period.…

I would encourage you to have your body fat percentage checked, too. My BMI has me in the 'overweight' category (28.3). But when I had my body fat percentage checked, I was at 17.4% bodyfat. Well within the healthy range for my gender and age.

5 minutes, 3 times a day, I don't have time to get bored, and I'm 60 lbs. down in 7 months. WORTH IT!

Not exactly "Non-Scale", but here goes... My successful weekend was this: I went to a strange fund raiser called "Mouse Races". This is where you bet on rodents that drag race across a straight track and raise money for a charity. Anyway, my NSV is that everyone brings copious amounts of unhealthy food to these. EXCEPT ME!…

I went to Club Fitness today, where they have a state-of-the-art InBody270 Body Analysis machine. I was gauged via 4-point electrostatic resistance tests to have, , , wait for it, , , SEVENTEEN PERCENT BODYFAT, , , 17% !!! That and although my BMI is 28.1, (overweight) my muscle mass percentage is 124% of normal.

Yep I've gone full scale commercial and it costs $17 a month. Woo Hoo! Check it out : https://www.clubfitness.us/location/fenton/
Wow. That’s a great deal. Is that a chain?
Yes! Here in midwestern USA

This, exactly. I needed to get it through my thick skull that my weight is going to fluctuate 2 or 3 pounds up or down nearly every day and I need to weigh EVERY DAY in order to avoid a relapse into obesity.

Go so tired of waiting for equipment at little gyms and community centers... Now I work out at a 50,000 square foot CLUB FITNESS that has: Kids Club · Group Exercise Studio · Tanning · Red Light Therapy · Hydro Massage · Virtual Cycle Studio · Burn Zone Studio · Womens Training Studio · Pulse Studio · Smoothie Bar ·…

Some folks, like myself, have had better success in losing weight by not having a static calorie intake everyday. For example, if the goal is to eat (on average) 1600 calories a day, I will eat 1200 calories every other day, and 2000 on the others. It feels like I do better losing with this eating plan. But a calorie…

*** So MUCH this! When we brought our first baby home and we sat down in the living room and stared at each other saying, "What are we gonna do NOW?!"

Normal eating is eating when you're hungry. I ate when I was happy or sad, happy or mournful, bored or excited, celebrating or ANYTHING other than hunger. THAT, is disordered eating, and the main reason I have to count calories (probably for the rest of my life).
-
Are you weighing and or measuring accurately everything that goes in your mouth that has calories? I thought I was eating 1500 calories a day and not losing weight. Then I started accurately weighing & measuring EVERYTHING with calories and POW!!! The weight started coming off.

Once a month I go to the Chinese buffet. But even then, I try to focus on the lower calorie soups and sushi. I doubt that I eat more than 5-600 calories over my normal daily calorie goal. Like @MikePfirrman said, it's a slippery slope that has led me to "backslide" more than once.
