  • Happy Friday! Donna, I have you and Brooks in my prayers. I hope Brooks gets transferred to the oncologist he requested. And I hope you guys can enjoy your time in Finland despite everything going on. I am looking forward to stories and pics when you return. Nanc, everything you've accomplished and they way you've picked…
  • Your trip sounds like it was a wonderful adventure, bisky! Please keep us posted about Brooks *big hugs*
  • It had to happen at some point...I am learning how to sew clothes. I'm taking an online class that starts with the basics and goes on until I decide I've learned all I care to, or 2 years, whichever comes first. It is taught by a family of tailors in Germany. As a bonus, this is going to help motivate me to lose weight.…
  • Happy Friday! I hope you can get some rest over the weekend, Mihani. Spring cleaning sounds like a good plan, Nanc. I need to get back into that too. Happy to hear that work is going so well! My brain is fuzzy from lack of sleep. For the last month or longer, I've been in a pattern of having difficulty getting to sleep and…
  • That's lousy, Mihani. I hope you're feeling better soon! If you have miso paste on hand you can always make a broth to go with your toast. Something nice and comforting. I'm keeping up with my walks with the dogs and a small but steady amount of VR movement every day. Next week, I'll add a bit more VR. Building up slowly…
  • I've lost track of which baskets I've posted, but I don't think I've shown these ones yet. I like the look of the sisal/jute and rope one, but that sisal stinks of chemicals! I had to be quick and then get it out of my room and seal it up. It's really rough to work with too. I am on the lookout for a natural but softer…
  • I'm glad your party was a great success, Mihani. I forgot that it was your 60th...that is a special one! Good to celebrate the milestones.
  • congrats on the weight loss, Marilyn! I hope that the change in your diet and exercise has you feeling better soon
  • @Marilynsretired hey, haven't heard from you in a while. How are you doing? Nothing much going on here. We might get some snowfall this afternoon. It won't stick around, but it might make for a slippery commute home. Our daffodils are coming up and it is time to prune the fruit trees, spring is just around the corner. Once…
  • ok had to come back to say that after commenting on how there's no Indian food nearby, I just found out that one opened recently in our town! 10 minutes away and no border crossing. We already have plans but I'm sure we'll be checking it out soon.
  • Beautiful cards, Donna. That sounds like a great opportunity. I hope you guys have a fabulous time in Italy. The perks of living in San Antonio seem significant to say the least. At least you know that you have one good option, and it doesn't even require moving! Mihani, I hope things get better with work. 1 day off is…
  • I am looking forward to hearing about your good test results, Nanc. Nothing like a cup of coffee in the morning. I'm enjoying the heck out of mine right now. I bet it feels good getting rid of that junk, Mihani. Joe and I are talking about getting a one time dumpster rental service. Once we get our garage and shop and barn…
  • That sounds miserable, Nanc. I hope you're feeling better soon.
  • oops also meant to post this pic of Radar. Usually right by Joe's side, so this is a rare shot that doesn't include Joe's legs in the photo!
  • Mmm, that Spring Roll Salad sounds great, Nanc. Sounds like you're on a roll! Have fun lunching and shopping, Mihani! I'm glad you got your boss out the door and now have a week or more with fewer interruptions. I'm back to my sleeping pattern where I wake up between 2:30 and 3:30am every night and then can't get back to…
  • Congrats on your weight loss, Nanc! more baskets in the works My heel is still not cooperating. that is all :)
  • Look what I received in the mail from Donna...a wonderful kitty tea pot from Japan! It goes with the bowls and plates she gave me when she and Brooks came out for a visit in the summer. It has an infuser so it is perfect for my loose leaf green tea. I've gotten into making some baskets using materials I already have at…
  • I'm glad you're feeling better and sleeping better, Nanc. Mihani, great job on your closet! Yesterday I ended up skipping the SN workout to be on the safe side. I did a few beat saber sessions, but not for too long. Supernatural is slated for after work today. Dinner tonight is Mongolian Soy Curls w/ sesame green beans and…
  • I bet it will feel great to have those final details taken care of, Mihani. Spring, it sounds like you did really well overall. If you can snap back into your good at-home habits, I'd consider it a huge success! I seem to have gotten away with my abbreviated Supernatural workout, with no returning injuries, so I am going…
  • Welcome back home, Spring. We were snowed in for a week, but were finally able to run errands yesterday. It is melting fast now so I'm hoping I can take the dogs into the field later today or if not, by tomorrow. I'm still dealing with injuries, so I've been forced to limit my activities. I'm slowly ramping back up.…
  • I haven't been able to work out for 3 days now. My neck is really sore when turning; I think I feel asleep in a weird position while reading myself to sleep the other night. And the bottom of my foot, in the heel, feels tender when I put weight on it. It gets worse as soon as I attempt to do any VR workout or song, so I…
  • 135 zone minutes yesterday from 2 back-to-back Supernatural workouts and a few Beat Saber songs throughout the day. Ate too much even though it was healthy. Oatmeal squares made from banana and oats, dates, and blueberries. Healthy ingredients but too tempting. Dinner last night and tonight is veggie lasagna and mixed…
  • oh also Joe loves VR fitness too. He plays Beat Saber songs and boxes. The boxing is a killer workout. I did it once. Kind of intimidating to be in the ring. But when you are tired you still want to punch and dodge to win.
  • Nanc, that is a crazy long time to be sick. Your upcoming travel plans sound fun. It's great that you and Lulu can go together. Donna, I'm glad you're back home and can do what you want when you want. I would have told your sister that her comments are mean and that she's nasty again since hitting the bottle. It's too bad…
  • Look what I found: a workout tracker to color in for each day in 2024.
  • @Marilynsretired great progress! Always nice to find a go-to recipe that you both enjoy. Sorry things are so busy at work, Mihani. There never seems to be down time at your office to regroup. Yesterday I had less than 5000 steps and only 7 zone minutes. I did one walk with Ruby and Radar, but didn't get in any VR time as…
  • Ruby was feeling sick yesterday and was very slow to eat her breakfast. I am happy to report that she ate normally at dinner last night and again this morning. And her butt is wiggling again! I got in 60+ zone minutes and 7000+ steps yesterday for activity and stayed on track with food. Today will be day 3 with no sugar.…
  • I got the year off to a fantastic start. I managed to not have any added sugar and stayed on plan with my food - and no snacking after dinner. I earned over 100 zone minutes because there is a Madonna playlist workout in Supernatural VR that is medium intensity and quite long. There wasn't a low intensity option and I was…
  • Happy New Year! I hope everyone has a wonderful start to 2024. I'm looking forward to a year of healthy food choices and plenty of activity thanks to my VR games. Congrats on your weight loss progress, Nanc. You rocked 2023.
  • ah too bad about the entree & the food generally being too spicy. at least there are a few items there (broccoli salad?) that you enjoyed if you are in a pinch. Plantage was off for a week, and we have been missing it! We're going to make spaghetti tonight. We pick up our next weeks worth of meals this Tuesday.
