The birds are here. They are cute and quirky but only on the one side. I would not order them again because of that, but I found some good spots for them against plants and like them enough to keep them.
-
I've had those garden birds in my "save for later" cart for ages now. I happened to notice that they were 36% off when I was checking out yesterday. I'll let you know what I think of them in person. I ordered some of the Ka'Chava powder Donna recommended. I've realized that I need a quick and appealing option for breakfast…

Wow, I didn't know you were such a marvel at fishing, Donna! ;) 🐟️🐟️🐟️ Lovely cards. I especially love the first one. Mihani, that breakfast sounds really good. I miss my instant pot oats. I enjoyed mixing in all sorts of grains and even lentils in the mix. This week's meals are spaghetti squash & pasta with not meatballs…

I've thought about booking a stylist or at least going into a few stores I like on a quiet day to get some help putting things together. I'm interested to hear how that goes. The way I'm feeling now I want to lose some weight before I do that. I don't need to be at my final goal weight, but I do want to be down a full size…

oh and I got into snacking last night unfortunately. I did say I'd update you. On the positive side of things, my week of salads went really well and I upped my greens for the week considerably. I also got on the treadmill 4 days which is up from what I've been doing, but not as active as I want to be. Happy Friday!

The tofu was too dry with my normal air fryer recipe. I've used it in a stir fry. TBH it has been well over a year since I've done much cooking, so I don't remember if the recipe had me marinate it, then add to a stir fry, or add it directly to the stir fry, then add a sauce. That's probably the only time I'd go to the…

Sorry work is so crazy for you again, Mihani. My air fried tofu recipes are similar to what you're doing. And I could eat it all at once, too. I try to only have it on salad lately instead of constantly picking at it when I walk by the fridge. With the tofu press talk, I looked mine up on Amazon. I bought them 7 years ago,…

beautiful arrangement! One of our orchid plants has been blooming all winter. yep I always press the tofu. We have the 2 of the Tofuture brand presses. I like them because they press while holding the excess water and have a lid. I like to put the tofu in the fridge and press overnight so it is ready to go in the morning.…

The Silence of the Lambs 😯 I haven't tried the ka'chava. I found it on Amazon, thanks for the info! I used to always have a green smoothie for breakfast but I haven't been able to get back into it. It is too cold for me in winter. The rug is off the loom! I still have to hem it, but I'll take a photo soon. So is Brooks…
-
Great photos, Donna! Congrats! Do you and Brooks have the house to yourselves again? mmm black bean soup. I haven't had that in a long time. I hope I can find the recipe I was using. I might have it for brunch next week.
-
Breakfast has been a difficult one for me. Eating a salad for breakfast seems very odd, and I can't face lettuce too early in the morning, but if I put it off until around 10:30 or 11:30 and call it brunch it works. Here's today's brunch. 1/2 head of romaine, 1 big handful mixed greens, all chopped with salad scissors so…

Hi Daya, welcome! I am a comfort eater too. It's a journey! Right now I'm trying to have a salad with tofu for my first meal of the day to help me avoid cravings in the evening. I've had some success with it. Even if I still have a snack at night I figure I at least got in those extra leafy greens.
-
Radar's eyes are good, they were looking better after a few hours and we haven't noticed any problems. Ruby got hit worse and was drooling on day 1 but was good the next morning. Sorry your week was rough. Is there any relief in sight? My salads for brunch were a success. I made a peanut dressing and had them Thai style…

Tomorrow I'm finally starting my salad for brunch plan. The tofu is in the air fryer and I'm prepping a dressing. I'm going to keep it simple by making 1 dressing each week and using boxes of washed and ready greens. I think staying away from bread in the morning will go a long way to staving off my cravings. I hope so!…

Sounds like you've been having a good time socializing, Mihani. It isn't all that easy to find things that don't involve food somewhere along the way. In a bit of a low spot with energy and creativity at the moment. I've had some setbacks with weaving and I just need to give myself a bit of a break from it. We're having…

It is not all sunshine and daisies for sure! We love our property but every winter there are trees falling on our driving breaking our fences, barn paint starting to peel, muddy dogs digging big holes and more. For me the biggest con of our place is that we don't have a sidewalk to walk on down our road. Heck there aren't…
-
I think that's what I'll end up with too, Mihani, just a few plants so it doesn't get to be too much. Don't be discouraged if your yogurt ends up thin to start. When you make it again you will use your yogurt as starter and it will get thicker. Our whole house stinks to high heaven of skunk. Both dogs got sprayed this…

lol that makes it sound like it is the fish tank that is smelling, rather than the tub repair :p
-
Too bad about your big fish tank, bisky. I hope the smell clears in time for your sister's visit. I hope all goes well for Brooks' retirement! Congrats from me to you both. Nothing but weaving (and cleaning as needed) going on around here right now. My supplies for the loom are here and I now I just need to ditch the…
-
Nice finds at the estate sale, Bisky! My Mom has those fleur de lis glasses or very similar. That is some crazy weather you're having. How many days was it freezing cold? We're in the 40s right now and next week in the 50s. Mihani, too funny about the need for 2 IPs. When we were batch cooking we could have used a second…
-
graphic photos of lamb and bunny attack lol So adorable. I hope you are feeling much better soon donna. It looks like a fun card session. Are those gals regulars for card making? I'm glad you got over your fear of the IP, Mihani. They are so handy and perfect for someone as busy as yourself. Speaking of, I'm going to soak…

The car is out, but not in. I drive our 4wd side by side down to the car and then Joe runs errands and calls me when he's ready for me to drive down and pick him up. The fields are still white but I'm starting to see patches of green and there's rain in the forecast this weekend. Let me know if you land on a good chickpea…
-
Thanks for the ideas, Mihani. I have a recipe somewhere for an indian dish I used to make for breakfast that used chickpea flour for the base. I'll have to look for that. I have not being feeling the yams lately but I do think I'll pick up some potatoes and try nuking those for breakfast with veggies & maybe with a dollop…
-
Maybe it is time to get a new vehicle! Now our car is stuck part way down the driveway. I only hope no one tries to come up the driveway and then slides into our car.
-
Today Joe is going to try to get out of the driveway. Actually, I'm pretty sure he can get out, the question is if he'll be able to get back up when he returns! I have been dealing with a migraine the last few days and it is still hanging on today. I have a sore neck too so maybe things are out of alignment. Awesome job on…

Congrats on your awesome lab results. Hard work paying off! Kind of nice that a spot opened and you were able to get the surgery without all of the waiting and worrying. Smart move walking with the cane. Better to be safe! We're still enjoying the plantage food. There is a lot of variety and most of the meals are really…
-
Mihani, we get so much use out of our air fryer too. I love it. We've gotten a ton of use out of the instant pot, but lately with our plantage meals and less cooking it hasn't been in use. Your talk about potatoes has me craving them. I do love my starches. It is one thing after the other at your work place. Are you back…
-
Good morning from snowy WA! We won't be going anywhere for a while. Joe and to cancel and reschedule his specialist appointment and we canceled our Plantage meals since we can't get out to pick them up. I'm hoping we'll be able to get out of the driveway this coming weekend so we can get some groceries in the house and up…
-
Congrats on the 7lbs, Mihani! That is awesome. It is nice seeing a post from you again, you have been missed. Looks like a fun card making session, bisky. I'm a big fan of polka dots and pandas so I'm loving those cards. My mom does love her scarf. She is one of the people in my head when I am making things. I always want…

Oh wow, what a strong reaction to gluten! It must be hard to make sure it is never in anything, especially when you eat out. I would be uneasy before surgery too, but it's very exciting that you're able to get the implant! I hope it works out great for you. Is it outpatient surgery? Does it start helping right away? We had…
