  • Was able to hold a headstand longer both in total and without any help in balance in yoga day before yesterday. Also, same class, was able to do a full wheel 3 times easily and with my best form yet (previous was getting up twice or rarely three times and not great form).
  • Yup, echoing water-weight. Depending on the body makeup a person can hold roughly as much to 10 or so pounds excess. Water is a ***** lol.
  • GG cup here... I buy a good quality one (but not fanciest/highest priced, I found those don't work at all for me) like Champion brand. Getting the style that the entire thing is a strong flexible weave. Not the thin ones. The thicker weave that has sort of a dry-mesh feel to it, but solid. Sorry, I can't find a model…

  • I'm a Vega hater, myself, lol. I found that PlantFusion was the best one for me... but their cookies n creme flavor is yummier to me.
  • Others have covered the lose or gain weight point and the nutrient requirement point, so I'll just share the person answer parts: I used to drink them just when I first needed to after my surgery when getting protein was hard. Then I used them only once in a great while to up my protein when I absolutely felt I had to…
  • Mine at 5'3" was 140lbs as that's the best weight health and looks-wise when I started gaining weight (I'd been under til then). I'm currently 142 and discounting loose skin am thought to be about 132-137. Which means I need to focus more on building muscle now to get my fat % further down but my weight will ultimately go…
  • As others have said, reducing all fat is both impossible and not good for you if it were. As to how to eat a low fat diet and cut calories: lots of veggies.
  • Starting with New York as it's where I grew up and where I'm now living! So: New York 285 miles, 10 min exercise = 1 mile. Rock on.
  • Sure, I'll play along.
  • I log it if it's hard housework. Like, I don't log wiping down my stove and counters and stuff at the end of the day... ...but I do log when I spend an hour sweeping, mopping, moving boxes, scrubbing walls, etc. Basically, if I feel like I worked out then I log it but if not I don't. I think shoving my couch around the…
  • Echoing: No rhythm required. A good class you'll just have fun at... because frankly those of us with rhythm are screwing up, too. The rule is generally just keep moving as much as you can... have a good time with it. Can't figure out some side-step thing, stand there and shake your butt or something. The classes I've been…

  • I had to google BBQ Dust. That's probably your problem right there. For a good smokey/bbq/otherwise-flavored tofu, IMO, you need to actually marinate it.

  • A lot of different veggies really, but I don't have them off the top of my head in what's best. nutritiondata.com I mention to folks... it's very handy for stuff like this. You can search with the Tools part at the top for specific nutrients. It'll give you a list of calcium sources like that!

  • Depends on what level I'm puking lol. If I've eaten normally and upchuck a bit... part or a full meal only... then I keep it logged. If I'm puking my guts out due to a flu or something and everything is coming up and my body is being put through the stress of long or ongoing sickness? I don't even think about this site…
  • In addition to what others have said, and forgive me if I missed it, but cherry tomatoes are really yummy in a salad.
  • *facepalm* Yes, because the hundreds of studies done over the past coupla decades are all wrong.
  • Fasting for a day won't do a single thing wrong to him unless he has health issues of some sort that would be directly effected such as diabetes by it. 24hrs without food is nothing on a body that is healthy. I wouldn't really suggest fasting as a method of weightloss, but the occasional day without food won't harm him.…
  • Get a real meal in during breakfast, for starters. You have space for an extra opportunity to take in more there. As for sources: beans and lentils, seitan has a bunch, tofu, edamame, there is almond milk with more protein, seeds and nuts for starters. Also, while it's great to get a bunch of fruits in each day, you can…
  • Indeed, I love that thing.
  • I'm with you. The only way I can eat celery is if it's chopped up in a soup or something.

  • Even were I still omni there would be no way in hell I'd *intentionally* eat bugs. Back when I was I did, in fact, have opportunities. I don't like the things near me, I ain't putting them in me.
  • Vegan for ethical/spiritual reasons and that as I cut out more and more animal products over a few years I felt better and better physically. I'm someone whose engine runs better without them.
  • Why don't you take the money you make and buy your own grocery supplies and cook for yourself? That way you don't have to be tied to your mom's/family's unhealthy habits. They can eat what they're used to, you can eat healthier.
  • I'm trying to picture that and I'm pretty sure that doesn't even come out to one bite. Unless we're talking about one of those mega-muffins.
  • And yeah, vitamin deficiencies can be a major cause of mental health issues. It's disturbing how rarely they are tested for when trying to rule out non-psychological causes of depression, anxiety, etc. Even when someone's mental health problems are not nutrition or other illness based deficiencies can make them worse.
  • Over the course of a few years I found I was increasingly showing size of dementia... it started as a bit of forgetfulness (more than my normal, I mean) and progressed to where I was almost incapable of functioning. It got to the point that I couldn't understand what numbers stood for at times, a few times forgot how to…
  • I don't count carbs at all. I'm to focus on getting my minimum protein and keep my calories low.
  • Well, after 3 months I think it was (or maybe six, but one of those two) we were to stop using protein shakes at all on my doc's plan. When I was using them I found PlantFusion in chocolate flavor to be the best I could get. For just any old day protein foods I like seitan, lots of protein for calories. TVP as it mixes…
  • Once I was all the way past mushies and softs and on fully normal food? Strawberries Gardein Crispy Tenders with Heinz ketchup Those are my top two for taste.
