Elliptical machine is easy on the joints and you get a good burn if the resistance not too low. I actually feel more energized after using it compared to running on a treadmill which beats up your body. But it's good to switch it up from time to time..

For the most part, let your body guide you. If you're eating 1500 calories a day and you feel very hungry, eat more. But if you feel stuffed after eating 1500 calories, don't force yourself to eat just to hit a certain calorie goal.

1 pound per week may be more realistic for you, especially since you aren't overweight . To lose 2 pounds you have to cut out 1000 calories.

Try eating smaller portions if it helps. Before you eat, try to drink a lot of water. Even if you feel full after eating and drinking the water, remember , it's the water that is filling you up mostly. Work out if you can at certain times of the day (usually when you have time) try strength training! Jump Roping helps too!…

I agree that calorie counting cannot possibly be an exact science for every person. but i do think if you follow some levels of calorie monitoring you will learn what works for you. It helps to put some form of standardized measurement on things!

You cannot spot reduce fat outside of surgical procedures. That being said, your best bet is to reduce your overall bodyfat%. Add in an excercise/weightlifting program (yes, women should lift weights too) and you will make great progress.
