  • Thanks for the advice. I don't have any conditions that require a reduction of salt - just concerned with link to vascular hardening, heart attack and stroke. Thought prevention is better than cure. I've also read that lowering or taking salt from diet can help with cellulite.
  • My thyroid levels are ok through medication but I find it hard to lose weight on calorie restriction alone. I need to do about an hour of exercise a day ( most of it brisk walking) otherwise I don't achieve weight loss, but that could be my metabolism.
  • Don't forget the importance of exercise - planned and incidental. A good mix of cardio (eg walking) and strength training (eg weights or things like crunches, push up, lunges, etc) will help accelerate weight loss. Park the car further away from destination, take stairs - not lifts, walk and talk while on a mobile phone…
  • I have to peel the stringy bits from the sides of bananas - as well as getting rid of the black bit. I have a friend who can't mix meat groups in one meal - no surf and turf, no chicken stuffed with ham and cheese, etc.
  • What an inspiration! You'll have a great time getting ready for your wedding without having to crash diet. Enjoy the experience and best wishes and happiness for the future! Make sure you post some wedding photos!
  • It would be ungrateful not to enjoy a glass of your Christmas present.... But back on track tomorrow! Here's to 2013 being our year!
