  • I am 90 days away from my plan to stop logging daily. That will be 2 straight years of logging with the last 1 year (and a month or two) being in maintenance. I will still weigh out my portions and keep eating the healthy way I have learned to. I just feel a personal need to let go of the daily logging. It may or may not…
  • You look GREAT! CONGRATULATIONS!
  • CONGRATULATIONS! Not only on your weight loss, but on your entire lifestyle change. These things are NOT easy, but the determined person can and will achieve this. You are quite obviously the epitome of "The Determined Person" :) My husband and I have achieved our goal weights as well, although not nearly what you have…
  • I used to continually try to talk to people who did this but came to the point that after a few times and still seeing this type of behavior I started deleting people. I did tell them why and wished them the best because I do hope they all move into a better place personally, I just could not make it my job to council them…
  • Before 222# size 18 US After 150# size 6 US Not sure how to add a picture to this post though :( Current pic is profile pic, before is in my pics and you can't miss it LOL :)
  • @ 222# I was 33.26. @ goal weight of 150# I was 22.48 and happy wit it. I've fallen down to 148.6# and 22.27. Working on not loosing anymore. @ 5 feet 8.5 inches, 150# is low enough. I already have those who think I'm too thin. Don't really care what they think, but I'm happy @ 150# 22.48 BMI :)
  • I have read it over and over but still I will say it again....WEIGH your food, LOG EVERYTHING, eat a more CONSISTENT calorie intake, STOP eating so much pre-packaged and processed food as it is terrible for you, and be 100% HONEST with yourself. I have also learned that I can not rely on all the calorie counts I find here…
  • [/quote] Calories are the only significant factor for weight loss. Eating a varied diet with a balance of nutrients is beneficial for other reasons. And there are small differences in the way our bodies process various types of food, but basically these things don't matter for weight loss (or gain). Anyone who tells you…
  • I couldn't agree more! My husband and I have changed our diets around to a more healthy style and we both feel MUCH better for it. Sure, we could have lost weight eating the same foods we used to and just ate a lot less of them at a time, but then we would still be sluggish all the time and not feel so much better that the…
  • I like hearing everyone's opinions. :) I for one will likely count calories forever but I actually like it so I'm good with that !LOL! I really believe it's about calories, portion control, and more importantly eating healthy foods. We love the food we eat now and feel so much better than we used to feel eating the old…
  • Beans, Cornbread, & Skillet Fried Taters! Loving that if you cook healthier you can still eat your favorites!
  • You're asking if others find what you feel is normal. Well it's not normal for me, but that does NOT mean it's not normal for everyone. We all have our own "normal" so don't let others judge you (probably shouldn't ask others to do that) for how you feel. I think others over eating are hurting themselves, but I choose not…
  • I don't do sausage much for the health aspect but I do love bacon !LOL! I like a corn tortillas with 1 egg or 2 egg whites scrambled with onions, red/orange bell peppers, and mushrooms and 1 or 2 slices of bacon. I'm bigger on the wrap idea myself. I'm sure it would taste great as a sandwich though.
  • What an AWESOME success story. You have done and are doing absolutely great!
  • I LOVE YOUR PIC! What an awesome motivation and truth!
  • Best of luck to everyone. I KNOW you can do it. I started out at 222 and am hovering between 154 and 157 with a goal of 150. It takes time, determination, willingness to change your way of eating forever, and friends like you are finding here on MFP. This program helped me and my husband to loose weight, understand what we…
  • I'm NOT going to get into any sodium arguments here, I get over the recommended too often but not every day. I do try to keep mine lower when I can (buying low sodium canned veggies is a good way) because I know it causes water retention and who wants that right?! But I don't go overboard because none of my Dr's has ever…
  • I am so right there with you! I am 5'8.5" and currently 162 pounds. I started this journey at 222 and even though my family has seen me at 150, I've had a couple people at work ask why I plan to get to 150. No matter how many times I tell them I was there several years ago and it's perfect for me. It's where I'm happy with…
  • Then have a hidden smoke machine start and really freak out your friends and family.....I LOVE IT!
  • Husband and I have talked about this at length. At our ages, after 25 years of happy marriage, we plan these things and have made sure our son and the rest of our family know for sure what we want. We both plan to have as much of our remains used to help the living as possible and then cremate what is left. We both want a…
  • THANK YOU! This is VERY helpful. I'm on my last 20#'s and it's harder and harder to loose. I'm gonna try this approach.
  • I tried again, but this level of cardio just isn't happening for me. 43, arthritic, and not worried about having rock hard abs is leaving me out of this one. I'm still exercising though, that will not stop. Aerobic stairstepping, jogging, and walking for now. Looking at an elliptical for the long haul too.
  • Loving this !LOL!
  • NOPE! I plan for holidays and part of that for me is looking up calories and fat/carb/protein contents of the foods that tempt me the most. Once I see the bad ones, I avoid those foods like the plague! I already know what kinds of candy I can eat safely (mostly just dark chocolate) and I always do it in moderation no…
  • Went to youtube and watched a bit of level 1. No idea how I'll do, but I'm game. I'm gonna give it a try. I don't have a ton of time, so I may start slow, but I think I can do it :)
  • Started at 222. Got down to 204 and quit :( Gained back 7 to 211 :( Started new job in June 2012 and decided in August (43rd B-Day) I was going to loose it once and for all! Began on my own and joined MFP in Sept 2012 or there abouts. So here are my total stats: January 2012 - 222 August 2012 - 211 March 2013 - 169.2 I…
