Have you set your activity level right? If yes, are you eating back at least a good proportion of any exercise calories? I am set to sedentary as I am retired and pretty idle by nature. Mfp gave me 1200 BUT I do aim to add around 50% of my exercise calories so I usually eat around1350 - 1400 cals (good incentive for me to…

This morning I got into (and zipped up) a pair of jeans that I last wore in 2008 (when I got my weight down for the 2nd time :/ ). OK, they were tight and I hung over the top a bit but I was in - hopefully wearing them comfortably is in sight. Each time I have got down to this weight I have gained it back very slowly -…

Told mfp my stats and it said 1200 - retired (62 yrs old) and unless motivated I am very sedentary (had lots of hip and leg pain so exercise was difficult when I started) Thanks to resultant weight loss and physio I am now much more active. I do lots of walking, lots of quite heavy gardening, some swimming and use video…

1.3lbs or kg? I think OP said kg. As previous poster said, check the accuracy of your logging and then trust the process.

Congratulations

Yep! Go clean some windows or scrub the shower. Or if you have time go download a power walking or aerobics workout - always makes me feel better about a day over to know that I earned some of it. Either way, as you said 200 calls is nothing over the week.

Aside from the fact the advice came from KK - I personally have a problem with cheat meals. I know lots of people on here do have them and are successful. For me, they kind of suggest that normal eating is somehow hard, full of deprivation and that 'good' food is somehow boring. I prefer to concentrate on making most of my…

Wish we had a laughing button! Congratulations on your loss.

I have been deliberating on just this point this morning. While I get a bit embarrassed when receiving compliments about my weight loss they do help motivate me. I also relish the feeling of looking slimmer and fitter and feeling healthier. However, I am a bit in fear of the day that I forget what it was like when I was…

Your approach and plan seemed so practical - glad it produced such positive results.

Overnight oats with different fruits are great - mix up and put in fridge in the evening and instant breakfast in the morning!

My Mum used to put a saucer in the bottom of the lettuce bowl in the fridge so that water from the washed lettuce drained away and sat under the lettuce.

Wait as long as you can to get it altered - don't want to have to do it 2X :D

Sorry about your accident OP - on mfp you are never alone! Make a few active mfp friends - try choose people who are aiming for a simialr lifestyle to you. There are also various interest groups on here which you can join into - for motivation (monthly challenges etc), various diet types (keto etc) and also sports and…

And how are some of the low fat diet youghurts etc I see my WW or SW friends eating not? (Oops - sorry - pet hate showing ;) )

I had my first at 36 and my 2nd at 38 - you have a bit of time to get to a weight where you feel happier coping with pregnancy :)

Sounds tasty!

Wish mine were disappearing. Whenever I look at photos of me now all I see is boobs! Hard to look neat and trim and they make you hot! About 10lbs off my first target and they are hanging in (or down, I am 62) there.

I'm there too this week - believe in Science, follow the plan and be patient is my motto. I know my weighing and logging are accurate, no guessing and I am not eating all the calories that mfp gives me for exercise (around 50%) so I will get there.

I would love to feel your pain but where I live is rarely warm enough to warrant AC ;) To help you get your head in teh right place plan a way out of the situation til Wednesday. Do you need to be at home - malls are always freezing inside. I would be looking to spend lots of time in public (cooled) buildings over the next…

It might be a good idea to try lots of different forms of exercise - it is not necessary to become an expert in one to succeed at being active. You could try different forms of dance -adult ballet is now quite popular - tap, jazz, jive, zumba, salsa or ballroom. Yoga Swimming is really good for you and is not load bearing…

Not a veggie (my daughter is so always on the lookout for non cheeseladen veggie friendly meals) although I do eat huge amounts of fruit and veg. My diary is open and, being 12m from the nearest takeaway (besides the local fish n chip shop) I cook most of our meals. My diary is open to friends and I love collecting ideas…

My other half has lost 3 stone after watching me calorie count for years. While he was very supportive of me it was important for him that I didn't impose my diet on him and let him eat what how and what he wanted until he decided himself that he needed too lose. We are now following a healthier lifestyle together.

Barefoot running is a thing here in the UK, not widespread but is a thing :) https://www.barefootrunninguk.com/

At least you are tackling it before you are 62! ;) ;) :) Patience Grasshopper. If you haven't achieved the 11 lbs by end of August it's no biggie, you will be close and you can just keep going til you are where you want to be.

Except for the drinking this is my approach too. Agree the menu with other half and shop to it - occasionally have to switch meals around as life happens but most meals in my recipe folder work out a similar calorie count according to whether they are lunch or dinner. If hubby wants something not on the menu plan he sorts…

We won't hold it against you  From the far South West here.

Welcome! Great start - keep up the good work  Same age - have 2 children but no grandchildren as yet. UK based.

I am always incredibly impressed by people's success and don't often single one out for indivivual comment. But I just had to say that in your 'after' shot you could be your 'before' shot's daughter  Congtatulations! And to all the other successes on here - well done.

@ChubbyMcChubface - to add that, while I get the humour of your username you may feel better about your weight quicker if you changed it. Build your confidence - don't knock it ;) x
