355lbs. Started a keto diet about 13 days ago. Down 15 pounds, with a steady 3-5lbs/week going. I eat 2300 calories a day. The high fat content actually results in me feeling full. I never really thought I could feel full when I used to eat tons of carbs. Cool video related to the science of Ketosis:…

Yes. I went down almost 2 shoe sizes. Edit: Of course the bones aren't shrinking, but the material that surrounds them seems to reduce in size.

I used to eat back my exercise calories. It basically had my at maintenance. I didn't loose a pound for 5 months. If you want to loose weight, don't eat back all of those calories.

I use a MIRA digital kitchen scale. It has a glass top, it's low profile, looks sleek, and has a digital screen. Only 20 dollars too. I don't have a special bowl that I use with my scale because it's large enough to usually hold any of my bowls.…

You're definitely on to something! All problems worth solving look impossible when trying to tackle the entire issue at once. (From an engineering perspective this couldn't be more true). Breaking things down into small steps allows for progress to be incrementally made. Incremental steps are much easier than giant steps.…

Computers. What they are made of, how they work, the programming languages that we use to control them. They are in just about every modern piece of technology and yet a large portion of the people who use them have no concept of how they work.

I would watch out with eating back all of the workout calories. MFP was telling me that I was burning 1000 calories doing an hour of elliptical, so I would naturally eat those calories back. Just recently compared the data from MFP to a more accurate PolarFT4 Heart Rate Monitor's estimate of the calories burned. It was…

Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea - Charles Seife I read a great deal of popular classic literature when I first started college, and then one day I picked up this short book about a number that seems quite innocuous and discovered that numbers are fascinating.

I don't think he was suggesting to burn everything you eat. That might not be healthy.
