  • Its funny that you posted this because I just started back using the point system today. I too felt the need for more structure and at least when I go out to eat I can easily figure out what I am having. Counting caloires and fat is great but doesn't work for everyone. I found the point system very helpful. I started today…
  • I just started the 30 day Shred myself but not going to the gym. I guess what you could do is do the Shred on your off days. Or if you do weights on one day and then cardio the next just do it on the days with your cardio. Hope that makes sense. Exp. Monday Weights Tuesday shred/cardio Wed Weights Etc. I don't think I…
  • Ok so Day one was completed and I feel really good today. Not nearly the muscle soreness I felt the first time I did this. Call me crazy but I like feeling a little sore after a workout tells me I actually worked something. I have told people on here, at work and my family at home about what I am doing so that I am…
  • I posted it under Circuit Training General. Got that time from another user.
  • Amen on the Beer problem. We have a huge beer cellar with some really good beers, like Dogfish Head brewery and lots of Belgium beers which are my favorite. However what I do is if I am going to have a beer in the evening and yes I have to limit myself to 1 really good one, or I bite the bullet and have the Ultra's or the…
  • You are correct, I wouldn't do this if you haven't been doing something on a reg basis it is very intense. I even have to do the modified version and some of the exersises I have to modify even further. I look forward to hearing about your journey as well. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
  • It's actually a DVD you can buy at Walmart or Target for $10-$12. It's a workout program that is in 3 levels that are about 28 min each. The goal is to do it everyday for 30 days. It is called "Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. Google it and it should give you basic information. Hope this helps.
  • Wow lots of people to keep me going. Guess I really have to do this. That's good keeps me accountable that is what I needed. Thanks everyone.
  • I've started it before just never got more than 4 days into it. It is a real workout, and you feel it afterwards. Good luck with starting
  • Thanks for all the replies. I will let everyone know how it progresses. I can't do my couch25k program because the weather has been to bad to go to the gym so I have to do something. I figure by combining the two I should definately see results:smile:
  • Good job on starting to take care of yourself. Once you start losing some weight try incorporating healthy foods in so that you are not on the slim fast for a long time. But if it works for you go for it. Add me if you want, and we can work on supporting eachother.
  • good job in trying to release y our inner Skinny Girl. I am in that position as well. I know she is in there, but sometimes the fat one doesn't let her have much voice. Working on that. Add me if you want we all need the support at times.
  • Any kind of cardio is beneficial even if it is only 20 min. As for the lifting muscle takes up less room but weighs more than fat, so the change you are seeing in your clothing is inches you are losing by tightening your muscles. I was on a big lifting program and actually weight 20lbs more than some of the clothes I wore…
  • I'm in for a weekly thread. Let me know when it gets going.
  • I'm with you. Stopped dieting for about a month and started to gain again. Keeping track of everything you eat makes you accountable for your actions. It is a real eye opener. I need to lose another 25-30 before I am at my goal weight for when I got married 3 years ago. I need to get my butt to the gym as well. Looks like…
