That would be my guess. You also said you changed up your macros, but you didn't say how. If you increased carbs, that could also cause some water weight gain. Gaining muscle or even fat is going to take longer than 2 weeks, especially when you're talking about 5-8 pounds.

I get a DEXA scan every 3-6 months. In my opinion, it’s the most accurate reading possible. It is, however, somewhat expensive. For day-to-day readings I use my Fitbit Aria scale which monitors body fat. Its measurement comes in about 4% higher than my DEXA scan, so I know it’s not too accurate. I use it more for general…
