We have a rule in our house to NEVER BRING UNHEALTHY FOOD IN THE HOUSE! So when I feel like pigging out...i dont have any unhealthy options in the house. I would have to literally get in the car and drive somewhere to get junk food...which would entail a whole lot of shame and guilt to be that desperate (which I have been…

I lost 8 lbs in my first 2 weeks...it gradually tapers off into a slow loss. i like to think of it as "shock to the system" weight loss. =D

there are always specials at the local grocery stores on frozen healthy meals like lean cuizine, etc. usually they do a "3 for $5" or something like that. What I have learned is that I cant have ANY JUNK IN THE HOUSE (or I will find an excuse to eat it). If your ONLY options are healthy...then you have to do it..or take…

I am 5ft 3inch. My goal weight is 125. At one point in my life, i was 108..and I looked like a skeleton. at 125 i am a size 4-6.

Allow yourself one "cheat" a day during your time of the month. I get chocolate cravings..although I usually dont care for it. So what I do i buy one serving of something sweet..and be done with it...so it doesn't turn into an all day pig out. The key is dont keep the crap in your house..so you have to make a concerted…

Look into local support groups like over eaters anonymous, faith groups for fitness, etc. Those are free and usually are filled with people in the same boat. If you have some money to spend...get a personal trainer. Someone you can develop a positive and supportive relationship with. My personal trainers over the past 7…

I commend you for sticking up for yourself! Just remember all the positive comments this site gives you when you are feeling down about this! Whenever I see someone running on the road I always say "you go girl!" haters gonna hate. Wear an ipod and rock out to some positive tunes like Christina Agulera's "fighter"!

That is very tough to deal with. When I used to work in an office, most of the staff would go out to eat EVERY DAY! I absolutely could not do this (#1 I think its a waste of money and #2 going out to eat increases the temptation to eat poorly and over caloric alloted amount for that meal). I felt "left out" a lot because i…

Awesome job! Keep up the great work! I am ALSO 5ft 3in..and after only one week of dieting...lost 6 lbs! I am eating quite enough...the large amount of protein and "good carbs" I am eating each day keep me satiated! I feel like I am eating a TON OF FOOD each day...and I am still loosing weight! Yippee for short girls!

I really HATE the word fat. I think "unhealthy" is a better description of what being overweight really is. We all over our lifetimes accrue good and bad coping skills for the various stressors in life (or for some people..trauma). People who become overweight ALL have many complex reasons for the fact. But we have one…

Do what makes YOU happy...no one else's opinion should matter.. Its your body, you do what works for you.

I think it depends on your body. People who have terrible allergies or health conditions or mental health conditions that prevent them from eating certain/some or all "healthy" foods still usually manage to live fairly healthy lives and even maintain a healthy weight! After changing up my diet numerous times over the years…

You are welcome! It was well worth the money to purchase the spin bike...especially if the weather is bad and/or I am not feeling like I want to excersize...I just pop on one of my playlists and get my butt on my bike...and after one song I am usually motivated to get a 40 minute workout in!

I have to plan ahead usually when I know I will be eating out. Pizza is THE WORST thing you can have when you are dieting! (you know that!). Next time, order a salad and still enjoy your time when your family. But, we all have set backs...and I would 1) go for a long walk to burn as much as I could off 2) have a packet of…

I actually love putting together my own routines to spin to...if you have taken enough spin classes, you should be able to put together your own routine with music you like (and motivates). I find group classes to be annoying if I dont like the music...so I put together my own playlists and routines and get it going!
