  • 3,797 days I sure miss the old MFP feeds :s
  • Aha! thank you!!!
  • OK. Looks like you're right, Jen. The reply is only available for the last post. I can't go back and reply to an earlier post. Yet. :#
  • When I comment, I see "Preview" "Save Draft" and "Post Reply" at the bottom right. Can you see that on your comment?
  • Same here.
  • We're having a heat wave. Looks like it will last for at least the next week. I'm so blessed to have a pool. I've been walking/jogging in the water every day. Much easier on the feet, and I think it's helping strengthen core & abs muscles. I keep reminding myself that muscle burns calories even at rest. I know you cannot…
  • Welcome to a couple of new friends! I started the "Daily Discussions" thread as a place we can just check in every day, but really the main Home for the Ancients thread is just as good - maybe better because it doesn't require searching out another discussion thread, At any rate I hope to keep some interaction going. I…
  • It seems like once I knew I *could* do it, I got lax about actually doing it. Right now I'm just wanting to maintain below my personal "danger number." My household makes it tough because the 3 of us all seem to have different meal times. I have to just think about me for a while, instead of the boys, for a bit.
  • I've seen this happen before - more than once. First with e-groups (remember those??) when it went away people tried to hold together by moving to yahoo groups. It almost worked - for a time. Then yahoo groups went south and some people moved to an investment board, which ended up being too politicized and self-destructed.…
  • I hope we can just keep adding to this thread. Please send a message to any of your friends who might be interested. I've always enjoyed replies in my friends' feeds but never friended those folks. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10918152/daily-discussion#latest
  • So far this group isn't getting much action 😂 Feeling much better today. Supposed to get up to F93° Since I have to wash my hair today anyway, I'll probably spend some time in the water.

  • So, I called the group "Home for the Ancients." Anyone can jump in and start a topic, or comment on "Daily Discussion." I hope this can work. https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/146725-home-for-the-ancients
  • Super hot here this week. I'm feeling a little bit sickie-poo. I felt bad so laid myself down for a nap yesterday. Woke up thirsty after 3 hours so I drank 2 big glasses of water which came back up almost immediately. Got back in bed and slept until 6am. I feel like I could get back in bed again and it's only 9:00am. Some…
  • I should remember that I'm still almost 30 lbs. lighter than when I first started MFP, so there's that!
  • I'm slowly figuring out how to use the group thing. I started a topic called "Daily Discussion" where we can reply as if it's one long feed. I think that's the closest to our old feeds we can get.
  • It's been a struggle to keep my weight down, lately. After losing 15 lbs. - enough to be at my dream weight, thanks to Covid -last July, I've gradually added back about 7-8 lbs. and it's depressing. That's about 3/4 of a pound each month. I stopped logging food a long time ago because I found I could estimate pretty well…
  • Glad you made it here. Now to figure out how to use it.

  • Welcome to this brand-new group. I never used the "Groups" feature so it's all a mystery to me so far.
  • I'm here FWIW. I used to keep my home page open on my desktop all the time. That's how I stayed logged for so many years haha. But I'm not willing to go quietly <grin> I'll bookmark the group and keep the link open on my desktop - and hope I hear from y'all every now and then.
  • I often have some sliced turkey breast, or hard-boiled eggs supplemented with low-fat or fat-free Greek yogurt.
  • I love my Misfit. Wear it on ankle or wrist. Comes with a clip to attach to a shoelace if you want. I also have a necklace it can be worn with. No need to charge, just replace the battery every 6 months or so. AND - it's waterproof so when I swim or walk laps around my pool it counts my activity.
  • <smdh> This is why we can't have nice things. As one who lived with undiagnosed sleep apnea for years, I can assure you that knowing what's wrong is the first step towards fixing it. If you're ok with being a driving risk, potential diabetes & heart disease, increased chance of dementia then do NOT move beyond denial &…
  • I no longer use MapMyWalk (the voice got too annoying) but I have noticed that my Misfit Shine is calculating steps/miles differently all of a sudden. I walk almost the same route all the time & it was *always* 3.5 miles. It's now showing as about 3 miles. I should check it in my car maybe.
  • For me it's Werther's hard candies. Three of them total 70 calories, and keep my mouth busy for a good while. i eat them while reading in bed, drink more water, brush teeth & go to sleep!
  • Dirty deeds and the dunder jeans!
  • I find dishes with beans to be very satiating and generally low in calories. I make a soup with kale, cannellini beans, chopped onion, couple of garlic cloves, a quart or 2 of chicken broth (depending on how much kale & beans I use). I sprinkle some peppered vinegar or grated parmesan on top when I serve it. Keeps me very…
  • I stayed in a miserable job for far too long. I actually would cry on the way to work sometimes. My boss was horrible - a mean, vicious man. One day I met a friend for lunch and was telling her how much I hated my job. She said, "Just go back this afternoon and QUIT. You're smart, talented, educated - you can always find…
  • I love my Misfit Shine. I've been using it for over 3 years. Waterproof to 8' or so, doesn't need to be recharged and looks pretty cool, as well. You do have to have a smartphone or tablet to sync it & track steps. The battery lasts about 3-4 months depending on how often you sync. They've had some sales lately, so price…
  • I have 3 herniated discs. One in my low back, 2 in my neck. I lost 30 lbs. and did feel a little better, but it was joining a gym and committing to a regular plan of strength training that has really helped me turn the corner on pain. I still have some discomfort from the low back (hip & leg pain) but nothing like before.…
