not a dad, but as a mom of two girls (ages 3 and 10), I buy them toys that are for boys if they ask. My 3 year old wanted a Transformer bc she wanted " a bobot" , so she got a Transformer for Christmas last year. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

same here. I am a working parent of 2 girls (ages 3 and 10). My day begins at 4:30 am (gym time) and ends at 10:00pm. I had to get up at that time bc that is the only time I can get to the gym without it interferring with my girls, husband's, or work schedules. I think it's just about sacrificing. I don't do it every day!…

First of all, I am not a doctor or personal trainer: this is simply my opinion LOL :)but I personally lost 60 pds on running alone. I just recently added weights to my fitness routine in order to tone. But I believe "a body in motion will burn fat" .......period. So whether its cardio or weight training, one would burn fat…

February 29th here!!!! Hey there Leap Year baby

I would agree. I felt really tired when I wasn't eating enough calories. Also, remember- not all calories are created equal! Staying within your calorie deficit while eating healthy veggies and lean meats vs eating processed foods is not the same. And if your body needs rest, let it rest. Nothing wrong with that

excellent post! great info! thanks

I would say around 30 . Around 50, I went and purchased all smaller sizes. It all depends on how you carry your weight though.

we met right after high school (we worked at the local Kmart together LOL). We dated for 2 years and he proposed. He brought me to dinner and then to Celebration in the Oaks (a beautiful Christmas light display here in New Orleans). We walked around the botantical gardens, he asked me to sit at a huge fountain, got on his…

I feel the same way! I'm only 5'1", so I would have to lose an additional 40 pds to be considered "healthy" (I've already lost 70 pds). I started out at 225pds in January. I feel very accomplished for what I have been able to do so far. But now that my scale is slowing down, I get discouraged that I will never reach my…

For me, I was starting out so heavy that I could barely jog. But as the weeks and months went on, walking turned into jogging. And eventually jogging turned into a gym membership. I feel like I am in the best health I have ever been. I'm still a work in progress, but I am proud that I took the first step in January to…

I already personally know 4 of mine- but bc we were friends/relatives already. But it would be cool to actually meet one that I've never met in real life. Could be awkward too :indifferent: LOL

I will always drink my coffee. But I did give up all the calorie and sugar filled Starbucks drinks I used to love. But I will brew my own and put one packet of Splenda and a little powdered creamer in it. Hardly any calories. I guess I don't want to feel completely deprived- I've already given up all the unhealthy junk…

I drink a protein shake once a day but simply to increase my protein intake. I work long hours at work, and can't seem to reach my protein goal with meals alone. But I did read that when drinking protein shakes, you really need to drink enough water bc it could damage your kidneys if you don't So I make sure to drink…

My moment was one morning in January, I got out of the shower and I caught of glimpse of myself in the mirror. I just stood in horror! I had been dodging mirrors for so long that I didn't even realize how large I had gotten! And then I got on the scale and saw that I was over 200 pds! Even though I cried, I am now grateful…

I know exactly how you feel! I'm only 5'1" and currently weight 158 pds. (started in january at 225pds) My measurements are over bust:37, waist: 30, adn hips: 37 (currently wear between a 10 or 12 depending on clothes). I will see pics of girls that weigh exactly what I weigh but are taller and they looks so much thinner…

so glad to read this. I am trying to up my calorie intake as well and was scared of a gain at first, but now I feel reassured that I will be ok.

I too use GNC AMP whey powder protein. It's a low calorie protein powder. The vanilla tastes just like cake!!! and the chocolate is delish too. It fills me up so I use it as a meal replacement.

feel free to add me

Congratulations!!!! excellent NSV!!! It's so exciting to see progress- even nonscale progress!!!

This is exactly what I was thinking as well. What did you say when he told you that? So many husbands react to change differently that you never really know the reasoning behind it until you ask. My husband came out and asked me if I was cheating or trying to leave him when I started losing the weight. Once I made it clear…

I am definitely using this advice! My weightloss has slowed down as well (scale wise anyway) . I started strength training, but I think I need to change up my workout. Perhaps my body is building a resistance as you suggested.
