They matter, but being really close, lets say ~5-10% you should be OK.

much easier to kick you out than deal with problems. plus the financial aspect. They would obviously rather you pay for their own trainers. again, I'm not saying what they did was right.

Happens all the time. The gym is taking a precaution to not only protect themselves financially but also in terms of liability. An unqualified person training/helping people in the gym that results in injuries could cause problems for them. My brother was in the same situation, except that he was the "trainer". He had 3 or…

oops I thought this site/forums were made to spurt non scientific theories as fact, quick fix weight loss remedies, high sugar recipes and HRM questions... my bad /troll

10 mins sounds long to get warmed up, have you tried just a higher resistance or speed to get there? 25 mins of that sounds like a lot! Are you not exhausted by the end of that? What are your times on 1:1 and what is your heart rate at to be 90-95? Sounds like you are blessed with a high VO2 max
-
This is true. After my first interval, I recover fairly quickly, by the 5th, I am at 100% of max heart rate during, and never drop more than 10 points for the rest of the way out. The key is going all out. Or you can go 85% to 90% and shorten the rest. There are more than one way to skin the cat. I've never done a max…

Including nontreated regions. Isn't this studies conclusion contradicting what you are saying...Meaning they lost inches overall, NOT only on areas treated by the laser.
-
SERIOUSLY???? Crap, that is the exact routine I've been doing. Should I just reverse the two? [/quote] Kinda serious :) No, that is ok, if the 30 seconds is very hard then 90 seconds rest is doable..as long as you aren't fully recovered... aim for lower and lower rest...once you get to 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off you'll…

too much rest ;)

I'm definitely no doctor nor a scientist, but my basic knowledge of the lymphatic system is that one of it's functions is to transport lipids. However, this is from the digestive system, which is why I'm confused as to how it relates to any kind of "lipo" system.

Unless you'd like this in in my own words... http://www.livestrong.com/article/422761-how-fast-will-calories-turn-to-fat/ http://science.howstuffworks.com/environmental/life/human-biology/fat-cell2.htm

How does the lymphatic system relate to this process? I'm genuinely interested.

Actually, there are plenty of reliable studies and very definitive answers on how to lose/gain/change weight. Unless someone has a disease or hormonal problem then their bodies work exactly the same as the rest of the population. The methods are the same. But so many people want alternatives and "quick" fixes. You can…

3 minutes is perfect for HIIT (excluding warm up and cool down). My current schedule is 3 min warmup (practically no intensity), then 3-4 minutes of intervals. 30 seconds high, 30 seconds rest (not even low intensity). The 30 seconds of intensity is a medium to high level on a spinning bike where I am sprinting at my…

Not HIIT, but sounds like a very good workout anyway. Keep it up!

You throw away that HRM and get one with a strap :) But, regardless of that, calories during HIIT are somewhat irrelevant. The exercise time is short and as you said, the heart is going from steady to high beats in short periods of time, I doubt that even the best HRM will be able to calculate calories burned accurately.…

I would think that correcting scientific fact and trying to save people from scams is very supportive. Unless you would prefer boards full of quick fixes, high sugar recipes and $19.99 exercise gimmicks. I, for one, not new either am tired of all the misinformation on these boards. But then again, neither of us had to…

You do not need to count everyday activity as exercise, this would be WAY too complicated. Set your activity level to the appropriate value and log additional exercise.

agree with posts about not having her count calories. Teach her what good food is, and what isn't. The general idea is what matters, not calories. Not even adults should be counting calories.
-
Just plan your meals around your workouts. There is nothing wrong with having a large meal after working out. I eat half of my daily calories right after strength training work outs.
-
This is a good interval workout, which will get you results, but I doubt you are getting into a heart rate zone for this to be considered HIIT. RPM on the machine will be different for everyone. The key is to push yourself as hard as you can, if you can maintain the pace for 2 full minutes then it's probably not close to…

typical. LRA founded in the late 80's and suddenly everyone is an activist in 2012. Oil found in LRA controlled territories in 2011, Obama deploys troops to hunt Kony, and now faux-non-profits on the band wagon. Everyone is out to make a $.
