Where did you go to school to become a doctor? It is a common practice, just because you don't agree with it or it doesn't work for your body doesn't mean it's not right. Like I said in another comment, I will trust a person who has a doctorate before someone ranting on MFP lol.

It's not meant to be a "lifestyle change" forever. My doctor put me on a 900 calorie a day diet. 1200 a day did not work for me. I was told to do this for 4 to 6 weeks and then gradually increase my calorie intake over the coarse of the next few months until I was at 1200 a day. 900 cals a day is intended to jump start a…

My doctor actually recommended a 900 calorie a day diet for me, which is what I am doing now. I was informed to stay on 900 calories a day for 4 to 6 weeks, and then gradually increase calorie intake to 1000 for the next 4 weeks, then 1100 for 4 weeks after that, until I am able to do 1200 a day without weight gain, but no…

You actually burn more calories when you have more muscle in your body. Don't wait until you get to your goal weight or it wont be…

I NEED to loose between 50 and 75 pounds. I opened this account almost a year ago and then fell off the bandwagon. I could really use the support this time around as none of my "real life" friends have a MFP account. Anyone who wants to add me and help encourage me would be appreciated :) Thanks everyone

That's a tough one. Try incorporating foods into his diet that you can eat too. Slowly. Otherwise, you can always make a green smoothie for yourself for dinner and still make him what he wants. I do that sometimes at home, if the hubby and kids want something I can't have, I make them what they want and make myself a…
