I had a goal a few weeks back to lose 15 by Christmas and I've lost 4 so far...so 11 pounds. I'm tracking my food, drinking my water, working out 4-5 days a week.

I am currently using splenda but once my bag is done, so am I. I think we're better off eating something real, so I'm going to switch back to using sugar in the raw (the brown packets) and using less. I don't like Stevia, it tastes like licorice to me, and I have tried those monkfruit drops too but I think that's just as…

I find that the cleaner my diet is, the less I get cravings for junky food.

I'm almost 46 but have always been a slow loser so not sure if I notice a difference in that. I do know that if I don't workout regularly I feel it...more stiff in the morning. I have to do something daily, even if its just walking on the treadmill.

I think you need to be patient...as you said, muscle gains are going to be a little slower at your age (my age as well). What's your diet like? You might need to clean it up, focus more on eating whole foods and cutting way back on processed stuff. You know they say, Abs are made in the kitchen.

If I am sick I limit myself to a walk on the treadmill. Go slower than normal, just to keep the body moving. I get so achy when I'm sick and I'm sure its because of all the extra sitting and laying around.

I have an ultra...just got it last week. Love it.

I started running again about 9 years ago and I was 225 when I started. I ran a half marathon in 2006 plus a bunch of 5k and 10k races before that. Just do it, start running, don't wait till you're a smaller size. The C2K program is great, never did it but looks like how I started off.
