I'm from Colorado Springs, at least for the last 19 years. We are at 6500 feet so the running feels different here and different when I visit other places. I have in the past run pretty long races, but gained weight and ran less after kids. Now I run 5k races current time around 29 or a bit more I would guess on a flat…

Hi, I hope the fibroid cure is working. I would love to hear what you think works or does not. I just wanted to say I may be getting somewhere with soursop tea.

I have lived with fibroids for a couple of years now. I have tried many things, from vitamin D to dairy free to iodine to castor oil. I have one enormous fibroid and it is pressing on my organs to the point that I had to quit doing yoga (resulted in vomiting and diarrhoea). If something out there actually works I am ready…

I don't use barbie weights except when they force me to in zumba toning class, but I do pretty strictly use (nautilus) machines at my gym since I am scared to drop something and my spotter can't lift as much as me. I do these machines for 2 minutes each. If it was just a couple of reps I guess I would do more. Bench press…

Hi, I thought I had finished my reset after gaining 15lb, but then another 6lb crept on while I was trying to be on maintenance / slight deficit. I am still not sure if I did it right, but I have realized if you are trying to lose weight slowly then it is easy to screw it up and be gaining weight slowly (TOM etc can be…

I agree on the YUCK. The texture is fine in my opinion, and the creamy varieties can be a bit yummy, but it makes me feel lethargic and wiped out. I finally realized I never have to eat it again. Also, if you put anything by the ER4YB, Bloodtype A+ is not compatible with this food. Not sure how much I believe in ER4YB, but…

If you restrict too much it could be bad for your teeth. At least my teeth got bad when my deficit was down to about 800 cal/day and my teeth got better when I ate a surplus.

12 weeks seems like a good length. I did an 8 week reset but then kept gaining for 4 more weeks, so I should have gone with 12 weeks from the beginning. The weight loss afterwards has been slow with a 0.5lb / week loss for my goal. I wish I had been a bit more gentle with my reset as I don't think I needed to gain 23lb. I…

The dips and chinups are more for fun. But it is not fun to see how progress goes backwards when you weigh 20 lb plus more. :(

Thanks I will dig out my polar tec and see if it still alive. Very versatile spreadsheet that! For the weights, I generally do not repeat an exercise for 2 weeks as I have read that the faster fibres can need a lot more time to revover, maybe 10 days, but then I lift once/week not once/10 days. Except for dips and chinups…

Thanks for the response. Seems like I need to just log the exercise and count on it generally doing something to my TDEE that is hard to track (since the recovery must take energy and raise TDEE?) I would like to get a HRM and have a 15 year old one by polartec. Do I need a new wireless one or something?

Hi I gained a lot of weight doing a pretty radical reset. I hoped it would fix my health issues - so far it hasn't done what I wanted but I may have one related benefit with my teeth - seems to be along the same lines as hair and nail health: After doing 1400 cals / day for about 4 months last summer and losing about 20lb…

I have been trying to coordinate my new fitbit I had for 2 weeks or so now. This is great to read these posts. Thanks.

Well it seems like it was random fluctuation - I was at an even higher weight a few days later. For all I know I could be slightly gaining at this level. I will have to wait it out longer to know for sure. Thanks for your responses.

Oh Hi, That is interesting. I have decided that the fat is superficial and that my health is of primary concern. At least I believe that with my head. I have a benign tumor that I would like my body to remove. That is the number one priority, then fat loss, and finally performance at the bar. I figure you cannot heal if…

Hi, Do you think you notice those types of things even with a small deficit, of say 5 - 10%? I am super hungry now after doing a heavy lifting session yesterday. I planned out and pre-logged my dinner but I am afraid I could still be hungry after. Actually I am afraid it is unwise to cut at all. I feel like it might be…

I like to take the boiled potato (or roasted) that I usually have left over and then refry it in the fat from the pastured meat patties I cooked for my meal. It gets nice and salty and rich. Though of late I have switched to squashes (butternut yesterday) as I read somewhere that the lignan phytoestrogens in squash might…

I have learned that there is a whole community of amazingly dedicated people on here who have acheived amazingly well, probably in areas besides weight loss too. It is daunting and awe inspiring as I try to lose my wimpy few pounds. Also there are some great women hitting the gym and lifting, and doing other cool stuff.…

Cottage cheese is something I realized too late in life just disagrees with my system. I get fuzzy headed and feel generally degraded. So, I do not eat cottage cheese under any conditions. I realized this about 10 years ago and then when I read "Eat right for your blood type" saw that it was not recommeneded for my blood…

Hi I too joined this group a couple of months ago even though it did not seem active. The moderator is great. It is great to see some activity here! When I joined I was just dabbling wiht PHD. I think I like it a lot. It was so great to eat carbs which I had been restricting for 10 years. Sweet potatoes and butter are…

Thanks Bethany, that was a worthwhile short clip. Thanks for posting it. My best diet? I will tell you when I feel like I found it. I once lost weight on the zone diet. For years I thought that diet was magic, but guess what - strict 1300 calories a day will make you lose weight, no surprise, and no need to go crazy trying…

I saw this topic and realized I have lost exactly 30 pounds since my second baby ( from my weight shortly AFTER delivering my son). That means, 3.5 YEARS. Wow, so many of you responding here have been so fast and successful. When I joined MFP I had already lost close to 20 of those pounds and only wanted to lose 20 more…

I can do 5 pull ups on the third lowest assist level on the machine at my gym. 30 days ago I could only do 3. When I can do 10 I will start doing them straight.

So great that you put yourself first and said NO to negativity. I was thinking of you at yoga today - I hope you enjoyed your class and there is something very in line with yoga-philosophy in your post, at least the way I was thinking of it today. Thanks for the Lenny quote also!

Hi, I am new to this group and I see that there haven't been many posts in a little while. In any case, I thought I would write in about the liver even though its an old post. I just tried the first recipe on your post with some very good quality grassfed uber-organic beef liver from my local farm. At first I was…

Hello, This is the first group I have joined. I started using myfitnesspal with a friend to help watch my calories. I worked really hard to lose 10+ pounds by doing some sort of paleo. I couldn't believe how little I had to eat (something like 1000 calories per day) to get any results. Fasting helped. I am not sure where I…

Hi I am up and down around the goal. But I blew it over xmas. And I gained weight. Will there be a big banner saying "HEY EVERYONE, THIS ONE GAINED 6lb OVER HOLIDAYS" ?? Back on the straight and narrow and I got rid of 3 of those suckers again.
