  • Alcohol will effect weight loss ability due to calories and the way the body processes it. I know several small framed ladies who have fought those last 10 pounds with resistance training and hormone theropy (40 years+).
  • Great suggestions everyone. Yes, here in texas we get the ice, so no snow to shovel.
  • Woo Hoo, Count me in
  • I cook up turkey sausages in advance, then heat that up and eat it with a couple of eggs (you can do egg whites if you want to keeep the calorie count down). You add some whole grain muti-grain bread.
  • Although scales and other body fat measuring tools are not accurate, they still can be useful in trending. My plan is to wait until I hit my reduction weight goal and then go and get a professional body fat test. Then as I continue to lift weights and gain muscle, then go back to the the calorie defict to lose a little…
  • Great news on your progress so far. Keep up the healthy eating and working out and at some point you will start losing weight again.
  • I have several female friends who looked good but were at their last 5-10 lbs. They went to a hormone doctor and got their hormones back in check and the weight came off.
  • The important thing is that you are working towards a goal, monitoring your food, and being active. Those things will all lead to a healthier "YOU" and that is what this is all about. Don't stress over a day here or there where you might eat more thatn your goal. Keep up the good work and don't torture yourself while…
  • I have the same issue, my legs are very tight. Stretching certainly will help some, but the biggest thing I have found is to drink lots of water.
  • I find it difficult as well sometimes when I am eating salads, vegies, and chicken or fish. Some great advice has been given here about nuts, peanut butter, and cheese. I have even added a hard boil egg. Get up to the 1200 calories so your body doesn't feel like it needs to go into starvation mode. The walking is a great…

  • Kristy, Talk to someone at the gym. I am close but a little bit away (North Plano) and I work out at the Anytime fitness at Legacy and Independance. Good luck with your goal and finding someone to work out with. If your gym has classes, I found that is a good way to keep motivated through your workout. I started the Zumba…
  • It is not a big deal if you make your goal every day, but try to stay active. I find that watching calories is great, but exercise is what tones and builds muscle and helps your cardiovascular system. I try very hard to do something at least 6 days a week. I just feel better when I exercise also. In addition to cardio, I…
  • I do not follow their reccomendation, right or wrong. I have been eating between 1200 and 1400 calories a day and burn between 500 and 1000 calories a day in exercise. It is working for me. I do not find myself tired, and have went from 200 pounds to 180 pounds in 6 weeks. I can see better definition as I am both lifting…
  • I am sure you have seen progress so far. If you are only eating between 1200 and 1450 calaries a day and you are working out 60 min a day you will lose weight and shape your body. The good part of cooking meals for the whole family, is you can cook healthy meals, and even impact your whole family's nutritional intake. Good…
  • I believe at Jimmy John's web site you can not only get the calories of the sandwich the way they normally serve it, but they have a tool that allows you to change what is on the sandwich and it changes the nutritional facts.
