That is great stuff Mike! I don't do Whole30 for any other reason than it is a structured way of eating that makes me feel great. I like guidelines and left to my own devices I would exist only on french fries and margaritas. There is so much conflicting (and often, unsupported) opinions on the internet, I just eat what A)…

I just started my 4th round of the Whole30. I love it. I'm doing it until the 12th of Feb so I'll join you!

I'm 26 weeks and by 25 weeks had gained 22lbs. Eek! I, too, started at 145 so to see 169 on the scale was a bit of a shocker. Although I'm typically a healthy and fit person, I did not watch my food intake or exercise at all during the first 4 months because I was so nauseous and tired. My midwife told me not to worry, but…

I did the Whole30 last month and LOVED it. I was a little nervous that I would have a hard time sticking to it, but it was actually pretty easy. I'm not much of a sweets eater anyway, but I did find myself craving sweets towards the end. My friends, family and coworkers were all super supportive (imagine going to…

Ugh, I know how you feel. I just started a new job after staying home for a year. It's so hard to balance it all AND eat clean/healthy. Feel free to add me!

I use recipes off of www.thegraciouspantry.com frequently. Most have been very good and pretty easy! Good luck!

Abs are made in the kitchen.

I'm doing my 22nd race marathon distance or further this October. The best motivation I have found is in my local running group. Their encouragement (and craziness) is what prompted me to do ultras as well. I suggest finding a group to run w/ a couple times a week. Consistent and smart running will help you reach your…

I did Insanity last year and had great results. It also helped my running immensely. I read this thread yesterday and broke out the DVDs as soon as I got home! Thanks for the motivation!! Feel free to add me if you need more buddies!

I gave up alcohol. Definitely a sacrifice! Here's to 40 days on the wagon!

Get it! He should be proud! I've got so many running magnets on the back of my car there's no room left for more!

I try to keep my sodium as low as possible since I'm very sensitive to it. What everyone else has said is true! It makes you retain so much water and although it is just water, high sodium levels are a bad habit to keep. I never realized how much sodium is in our everyday foods. I had to switch to a purely clean diet…

Great question Leslie! I'm at 40/30/30 and have had good results with lifting and reducing body fat.

I'm in! Thanks!

I love all of this information! I've got lots of research to do. I currently am doing P90X and I love lifting which was a complete surprise to me. I've always been a runner and didn't want to give up any of my weekly mileage to take time to life, but what a difference it's made. I love my "strongs"!

You are absolutely right!

10.8! That's awsome!

Current weight: 124.5 Pounds lost: .5 (FINALLY!) Question of the week: How did you determine your goal weight? Will you make your goal weight this summer? 1) I picked a number that I really, really, really wanted to be at...but guess what? 2) I really don't think that's going to happen. And honestly, I'm okay with that.…

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm all registered!

Bwahahaha! So true!

I love seeing all of the runners on here! Marathons are my favorite. I'm not currently registered for any this fall, but I'm looking at a couple of them. I have an 8 hour endurance run next month, a 50K in July. Any recommendations for a fall 26.2? I prefer smaller races myself.

Hey Ladies, I have good news and bad news...good news first: I haven't gained any weight...yet. Bad news: I broke my little toe! On top of that, we are in the middle of remodeling my kitchen so all I've eaten is crap. Yuck. I have an 8 hour endurance run coming up in 5 weeks that I may have to pull out of because my toe…

Sadly, I don't have the CX...just the regular 405. It doesn't have the capability to use the HRM w/o the GPS on which doesn't work indoors at all. I have found that the Timex and the Garmin are pretty spot on w/ calorie burn.
-
Definitely invest in a HRM. I use a Garmin 405 for running and a Timex (Consumer Reports top pick) for everything else. I have found the numbers on MFP to be all over the place so I rely solely on my HRMs. Anecdotally, I have found that your perceived rate of exertion is a good barometer...if you were spent after running…
