Your face change pics are amazing and I'm sorry you haven't been given the go ahead for surgery. We are all here cheering for you as you continue on your journey, I for one enjoy hearing your thoughts and musings on your situation. Big hugs xxx

Hello :) I'm 43, 82lbs down and 850odd days in, at least another 50 -70 lbs to go. I log every day, open diary. Happy to support anyone who needs it

Good point. I'm tempted to eat at maintenance for a couple of weeks, then try again for 4-6 weeks as losses could indeed be being masked. Thank you all for your input, it's greatly appreciated :)

But assuming I'm accurately logging (a big assumption I know) then that adds up to 3500 cals, a pound over target, and target is 1.5 lbs loss a week. I do get what you are saying but I'm not convinced that is enough to stall completely or even gain weight unless my tdee is waaaaay lower than mfp thinks. I will however look…

You've come to the right place. I've sent you a friend request. Start by logging. That's all you need to do for now. Good luck!

I'm so sorry to hear that. Sorry if this is an obvious and annoying question but do you log what you eat? Sometimes the simplest answer is the right one, maybe focus on one thing at a time and log everything. And anything you can do to move your body is better than nothing, so even stretching your arms, chair dancing,…

Have just sent you a friend request. I've lost 72lbs to date, started at 320. I log every day, just reached 490 days today (I think!). Anyone who wants a friend who logs honestly and regularly and tries to cheer everyone on is welcome to add me :)

I know it's a cliche, but it took a long time for the weight go on, so it will take a long time for the weight to come off. But it will come off, just not all at once. IMHO either weigh every day (so you can see how your weight fluctuates from one day to the next, because of salt, sugar, TOM, waste etc), or weigh once a…

I log every day, and I've been here for just over a year now. Anyone can add me if they wish :)

Wow, 56lbs in 5 weeks, that's amazing, well done. I've lost 53lbs in 35 weeks :) I think, as others have said before, it depends on the individual. I started at 320lbs, lost (about) 15 lbs in the first month or so, probably water weight, then a steady 1.2 to 1.5lbs a week thereafter. And being a 5'7" female, I should in…

Noticed when I put on my jacket this morning that it's definitely roomy, after being barely able to button it up when I bought it a year ago. And have had several people this week say I'm looking good :) And I'm only 1lb and 3 lbs to two major milestones for me *happy dance* Oh and I ordered some new clothes yesterday in a…

Lots of people know loads more about tdee etc than me, but here goes. TDEE is your total daily energy expenditure, which includes your exercise. Mfp calculates a different way and is based around eating back your exercise calories. Tdee doesn't want you to eat back your exercise calories, hence is higher. HTH :)

You poor poor thing, I feel for you that your doctor doesn't believe you and you are having to go through this to prove that you can't lose weight :( I'm absolutely not suggesting that this is the case for you, but I have had similar problems until I started logging accurately, weighing and measuring, but my weight still…

I'm down 43 lbs, with probably another 100lbs to go. I log in every day, open diary etc, feel free to add me :)

It's the old adage, my eyes are bigger than my belly (well not really but you know what I mean! ) and even six months down the line I still think that i need more than is on my plate. Well done on only having one burger, my husband still has two whenever we have them and doesn't put weight on, he's very lucky that way, not…

My diary is open, and I'm currently at 272.2lbs (started at 315), going to get down to 199 then re-evaluate, so probably have another 100lbs to go at least. I don't eat clean, but do try to eat in moderation - re-learning portions is the way to go, in my opinion, because once you are in the habit of eating less, it becomes…

Or perhaps it's less about logging accurately, and more about what MFP thinks are your 'lose x lbs a week' calories are not in fact going to work in your case. For example, I've got 100+lbs still to lose. In theory, my TDEE according to MFP is 2420cals, so on an average of 1450 cals (net, the level MFP recommends for me),…

I don't bother unless I'm doing (e.g.) a curry from scratch, in which case I log about 50 calories for the garlic, ginger, turmeric, fennel seeds etc. Just so I keep honest!

Anyone can add me, I'm on a decent streak logging (170 days today! Woo), my diary is open and I have lost 37 lbs so far, still a looong way to go but I'm getting there, slow and steady :)

So very very true :)

Poached, more yolk than white, in a frying pan of simmering water until the white is cooked and the yolk is still runny, served on wholemeal toast with a scrape of salty butter and lots of brown sauce. Yummy scrummy in my tummy :)

Feel free to add me, have lost just over 30lbs since Jan, I have about another 83 to go to get under 200, then we'll see where we are at. I've sort of got it all figured out, never thought I could lose weight but I can (slowly) so I'll help in any way I can! Jenanon :)

I had a bacon sandwich :)

Cumbria :) Happy to be friends with anyone :)

I feel your pain! I'm also seeing a slow weight loss, and have come to the conclusion that my calorie burn isn't anywhere near as high as the calculators say it is. I weigh everything, log everything, and exercise and don't eat back anywhere near all the cals but still only see slow weight loss. I reckon from my logging…

I just realised that I have less than 100 to lose - I started with about 116 to lose, now I have around 86! Go me! I'd love to buddy up with anyone else in the same boat, particularly those of you who lose sloooooowly - I'm averaging a pound a week and no more :(
-
Add me, I've got another 80 odd pounds to lose at least :)
-
This is me!

It'll be fine, log honestly and accurately and you will be fine :)

Hello :) I've just sent you a friend request. The key to this weight loss malarkey (as far as I can tell so far) is logging honestly and accurately, and being patient. Eventually the cravings will hopefully reduce, I found like jewels that total avoidance was the only way to go to start with, but now I can have one piece…
