  • I found some great ones at Target. It's their Gilligan & O'Malley line and everything is super comfy and stretches plenty to pull down for feedings. This one: http://www.target.com/p/gilligan-o-malley-women-s-racerback-sleep-tank-assorted-colors/-/A-14316222#prodSlot=large_1_9 Hits me mid-thigh (and I'm 6'0") and is great.…
  • This is what I was hoping to hear. I'm a FTM and EBF and we have a 2 week old little guy and are getting sleep stretches anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours, day and night. However, he is fussiest and cluster feeds between 12am and 2:30am every night. We're hoping that habit breaks as he gets bigger and his tummy holds…
  • Ladies! Congrats to all with new babies! Laser, Rebecca, Prplrose, Ehg -- so great to read your birth stories!! I have a minute and want to share mine. I woke up at 7:30am on May 23rd to my water breaking. It was the weirdest electric pop inside of me (and for you Rebecca, I wasn't sleeping on a towel but do have a…
  • Ha! I think I'd get some weird satisfaction 'cleaning everything out' if it meant I wouldn't be as likely to go during labor! The lady that taught our childbirth classes mentioned the cleaning out as a labor sign, so I feel like my husband is on high alert every time he sees me going to the bathroom. I'm always…
  • How far past your due date did you go with your first? Hopefully this one isn't as big!
  • Oh wow - were you okay with her just stripping your membranes without a little notice? I don't know how I'd feel about that. But, sounds like you are making progress with your cervix sitting so low! I'm excited for you - I'm going to be watching for your disappearance from the boards very carefully  Good luck!!!
  • Rant away! This is the place to do it! Sorry that the weather isn't cooperating for you! And a move in 9 days?? Yikes - that's a lot going on at once. Is this an in-city move? That is some crazy timing. And the scheduling game sounds very stressful - I know there are other moms on this board who can respond better…
  • Nothing here! Lots of lightening pains, so I'm glad he's getting down there, but man (like others have said on this post before) - ouch!! Other than that, I'm enjoying going to work - it's nice being distracted from analyzing every little twinge like I do at home on the weekends. Anyone else have anything exciting…
  • Thanks for your input! I agree with a lot of your points. We visited our hospital's birthing center yesterday - and after talking with the nurses, I feel much better about the whole situation. The birthing center is great - everyone is very like minded with staying out of the bed to labor, breastfeeding, using birthing…
  • You're doing great! Perfect gain. Sounds like you know exactly what to do after baby comes to shed any weight, so it'll be off in no time.
  • Thank you! I've been getting progressively more upset by it since she told us yesterday - and I told my husband that I think I have to say someone - if nothing else then as a courtesy for her (since she is younger) in her future dealings with patients. Glad to hear I'm not crazy for being angry!
  • You're making great progress! Great that the baby is fully engaged - I'll cross my fingers that you do not have to wait another 3 weeks! And yeah - holy cervix checks. Those things are no joke! Sorry you were uncomfortable after, but at least you had some dilation progress to make it worth it. What I wouldn't give…
  • Okay - I have to rant: We love our OB - she's relatively young and very laid back with her approach to pregnancy and the associated tests, and always makes us feel calm and empowered rather than nervous about the test results, or hung-up on things in a black and white sort of way. Basically she's just a good fit with us…
  • 39 weeks on Tuesday for me - Rebecca, you and I are in a row. Totally hear you on the exercise ball - I'm not sure I could get through a day at work without it! Are you having any labor signs?
  • I would opt-out of the pelvic check if I were you - totally agree - what's the point? And yes x 100 to peeing being the bringer of all relief in the middle of the night. I try so hard to stop drinking liquids by 8:30 but I feel so dehydrated all the time (even though I drink at least 100oz a day) that I generally end up…
  • I'm currently 38+ weeks, and I am also large chested to start (36D). I went up to a 36DD by the end of my first trimester and toughed it out with a few larger underwire bras until 30 weeks or so. Once enough was enough (with the uncomfortable underwire) I bought a couple Bravado Body Silk Seamless Nursing Bras. They took a…

  • Yay!! That's so wonderful to hear! I was hoping that your turn had finally come when you weren't posting -- so glad that you had the birthing experience that you wanted and that your boy is healthy and feeding! Looking forward to your birth story whenever you get around to it - rest up and enjoy your family! Cheers!!!
  • I will cross all my fingers and toes for you. Let us know how it goes tomorrow with the dilation progress! And understandable on the irritation - it's hard walking around as a ticking time bomb. So close!
  • That definitely sounds like progress - I bet your feel better having an induction on the calendar just in case. Your induction is on my due date, so at least one of us will have a baby that day. Have fun sitting bottomless - totally my favorite too - even better that we get to pay to do it! errrr... Oh, and congrats…
  • Checking back in! Just had my 38+ week appt and am still holding strong at 1cm and just 'starting to thin out' (which I read as: not effaced much). But, while leaving my urine sample at the doctor's I did have my first blood spotting in this entire pregnancy. It was bright red, and just a tiny, tiny amount (so no-go on the…
  • Congrats Momma!! Sounds like you had a great birth experience and that your little boy is excited to be here! Enjoy your new baby and get some rest!
  • Ditto. I feel pretty nauseous after eating too - and have also been feeling general discomfort in the ole' compressed stomach area on and off over the last few days.
  • That's certainly something to be nervous about!
  • Whoa - I'm behind with posting my check-ins, so I'm going to condense my recap: 1-18 weeks: +0 20 weeks: +2 24 weeks: + 7.2 28 weeks: + 11.8 32 weeks: + 15 36 weeks: + 18.6 Currently 37.4 weeks and up 19.2lb overall Getting there! :-) Edited for clarity
  • Whoa lady! Things are happening for you!! Best of luck with everything - I hope you were able to sneak out early and fold laundry/pack bags/etc. And glad that you have OBs you like on call for the weekend - hopefully we won't see you around here because you'll have some good news to share  Happy Birthday and happy…
  • Reporting in! Had my first pelvic exam today and am 1cm and 10% effaced. I've been feeling lots of twinges in my pelvis when walking, so I think the walks are really helping. However, I have no other signs, whatsoever, and feel pretty great so I'm not counting on this kid coming early until I'm in delivery. Don't want to…
  • Sounds like good progress! With your past history (delivering at 38 weeks & change) seems like you're on track to repeat! Happy early Birthday and keep us posted!
  • I love your description! You are so close and doing wonderfully! We'll all be sending good luck vibes to you tomorrow. :flowerforyou:
  • I second this - keep us posted!
