Merry Christmas to all. Furious holiday baking and candy making with concomitant exercise to stave off weight gain!

So what is the secret of success for all you night shifters? I have struggle for years with trying to regulate my intake. It seems as if I'm up 24 hours and eat around the clock. Any ideas? Currently I reset my clock at 4pm when I have my first "meal" of my day.

APN working nights in CT surgery. Nights sucks! wreaks havoc with weight loss. I have lost five pounds in four months. Better than gaining I suppose!

@vicky1947mfp Way to go! I love the C@5k program. I have used it before to prepare for runs, it's great. 2016 my goal is to walk/run a half marathon with my twin. I'll be using the same type of program. good luck!

WOW, so inspired. Need will power!!!! Need that ah hah moment! Thanks for sharing!!

Can your doc recommend an exercise program for you? Cardiac rehab perhaps. Does your community have classes for older adults that you could try? Food is the biggest factor but exercise will help you feel less tired and more empowered. Does your doc have an nurse practitioner or nurse that can help you with your goals???

WOW, you look wonderful, a great inspiration!

hi all just checking in. Travel, dinner parties etc have slowed and reversed progress but I still feel in control! back to work!!!!
-
ahhh stupid moderation! it's a curse. unfortuntely having tried many eating strategies that limit food groups and such, i find that just not eating is the way to lose. By that I mean limiting calories not a certain food group. It's slow and painful but ultimately successful. What I need to get better at is not wasting my…

@bubbex2 Thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way.

OK all here's my plan! One pound a week allows me 1460 a day. I walk 10000 steps a day. I work out at least 3 times a week. This is it!!!!
-
Great suggestions, especially @griffinca2 the sugar issue. I have been lax for sure. Does anyone have a good resource for food list by grams instead of calories?

Well my friends while I am so inspired by all these great stories, I am getting discouraged. I am stuck. Each week I vow to faithfully record my intake and output and each week I am unrewarded by weight loss. I average about 1500 to 1600 of calorie intake a day and 2200 out with exercise and basal requirements. I obviously…

I find that if I am not completely thorough with my diary, I get off track. Take it one win at a time. Maybe if you have gone from 0 to 60 with your working out, you are eating more because of increased metabolic needs. If you don't keep an eye on this eating, you won't lose. Are you jumping in too hard? Maybe need to ease…

What a great post @LaceyBirds, I am truly inspired! I have been stuck for months, here it is September and my January goal was 30 pounds. I am down six. :(. I know I have not been "honest" with my diary work and know it's the key to success so I press on. Thanks again for your inspirational story!

Welcome everyone! I too am looking to lose. I am trying to drop 19 pounds. In the grand scheme it doesn't sound like much, but I am having the toughest times. Thanks to everyone here for posting your successes and struggles so I don't feel like I'm alone on this journey! I know what i need to do but i just can't seem to…

There are so many great free workouts on line. If you have decent internet, you can stream jessica smith, jenny ford, etc, etc. No need to pay for an expensive gym or trainer. If it helps go for it but there are ways to get fit with out them.
-
Just found the Jenny Ford step videos on you tube. These are great! I needed something new so I dusted off my old step and started yesterday. It's amazing how many great free programs there are out there.
-
Wow @Bella65233 that's amazing! And I'm complaining about trying to lose 30. Only 23 to go. No time line, easy does it!
-
@vicky1947mfp you are an inspiration! My weight loss has been sooooo slow. I knew it would be harder as I got older but this is really tough for me. I too am making sure I get in 10000 steps a day plus a few workouts thrown in for good measure. The hardest part for me is my shift work. When I transition for night to day, I…

It's a great tool to help motivate you to move!

hahahahah the shred! I was shredded alright, thought my arms were going to come out of my sockets. I need a more gentle torture! I'm with @mk2loser with Jessicasmith, she is perfect! A little sneaky, the workouts look so fun and bubbly, you don't notice until the next day you have had an amazing workout!
-
not to worry, plenty of folks out there that are looking for what you got!
